At first, Jerry had simply waited, assuming someone would notice he wasn't amongst the others making their way downstairs through the labs.

Then he thought maybe someone would come up to make sure the door really had been locked (which it had).

After the first few hours, Jerry had started to become a bit dehydrated, but he wasn't panicking just yet. He wasn't fond of heights, but a periodic glance over the side of the building, he hoped to spot and catch the attentions of a passerby, but unfortunately most people did not think to look up.

He tried throwing the folding chair over the side as someone walked by, but with a pathetic clang, he merely knocked out his would-be rescuer.

Drat.

Some medics came and took the unconscious hunter away, again, without looking up nor wondering where the chair had come from.

Double drat.

Maybe someone would spot his phone down there? Maybe Sasha would miss him and wonder where he was?

At about the fifth hour, Jerry was beginning to get depressed. He shifted to curl up in the corner. He half wished it would rain, if only for the water. But then he'd be cold and wet and stuck on the roof, and not just plain ol' stuck.

When the sun started to set, and he had to summon Roar to deliver a soft green glow of light around him, he wondered if maybe someone would spot the green halo.

Alas. The weapon de-summoned as he fell asleep.

By the next morning, Jerry was seriously considering what had gone wrong with his life that no one seemed to even *care* that he was up there. That he might die up here. Not by a monster's hand, or strangled by the shadows, but out of starvation and dehydration and lack of a proper toilet. What had he done to deserve this? He always tried to be friendly, he had always tried to be a good friend, and i this was Kharma getting back at him for making fun of REP being Jordan's new boyfriend, well...

Then God or the Powers that Be clearly had terrible taste.

He was out of energy now, his head spinning and throbbing from lack of water. He pulled off his coat as the sun rose, beating down on him again, and swung it over the side of the rooftop as hopefully a sign that I AM UP HERE! before curling up against the ledge miserably. His throat was already sore from trying to shout down for help. With Roar's desummoned whistle form hanging from his mouth, he gave several sad attempts to whistle for attention, but his mouth was parched.

If they could see him on the security feed...

No, that thought just depressed him more. It meant they knew he was here but refused to do anything about it.

Fabulous.

He started to wonder what pigeons tasted like.

Ariane really had no business here, other than 'bothering others', which she was quickly becoming a pro at. However, there was something different about the surroundings of the building. For example, she was sure that there wasn't a chair there before... And was that dried blood on the ground near the chair?

Odd.

However, what was odder was the coat hanging off the side; she had no idea that the roof was open for people to dry their clothing. In fact, she had no idea that the roof was open for people at all; it looked like a great place to rest though, since it was away from where most people were. Thus, grabbing the folding chair laying on the ground, she carried it into the building, asked for the keys to the rooftop, climbed up the stairs, opened the door, and-

"Didn't know that it was already occupied," She stared at the pathetic excuse for a man, before walking up to him, opening the folding chair - although it looked like it took quite a beating, seeing how it was wobbly - and sitting down, "Also, you look terrible, old man. Like you just spent the whole night here or something."

Jerry gave a dim groan, shielding his eyes from the sun peeking through the fog. There was a figure there. He dragged himself up onto an elbow, "The... the door... did... did you... prop it... stuck..." He mumbled hoarsely.

"No, I just left it open," She turned around briefly to look at the door, before looking at the person in front of her, raising an eyebrow at him, "Do you need help crossing the road, old man?" Ah, what a nostalgic nickname that was.

"M'not..." He blearily managed, dragging his legs around to try to pull himself up to his feet only to swoon a little, "What... what time is... do you... water..." He croaked, frowning at the young woman who seemed content to mock him. He straightened his jumpsuit, head still spinning as he stood upright and caught himself on the edge of the roof. "They left me," He finished lamely, his face wrought with hurt.

"It is morning time, and also get you some water time, I think," She stood up from her chair, finally sensing that there was something wrong - especially since he was acting like he was suffering from a hangover without smelling like he had been drinking. She briefly considered bringing him downstairs to one of the Life hunters, but that would require him to walk... And he looked like he was in no condition to walk down some flights of stairs without her having to roll him down, "One minute, old man. Don't fall off, alright? You might land on someone and hurt that poor, innocent guy." With that, she left him there with the folding chair.

Eventually, a few minutes later, she came back with two bottles of water, having stolen grabbed them from somewhere. It might be good not to question her sources right now.

"Here," She at least helped him take the cap off the bottle, even holding it up near him, "You said something about... Them leaving you?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

Jerry snatched the water bottle like a wary squirrel, chugging the whole thing almost immediately, half of it spilling down his front as he did so.

A bit of sputtering, coughing and catching his breath later, he scowled up at the near-stranger with a dark expression, "You know... I think they might have done it on purpose."

He blinked a few times, crumpling the plastic bottle in a skinny hand, "Also I'm not old thank you."

"Oh gee, I wonder why anyone would want to leave you here on purpose," She replied, almost like she was reading off a script, "You're welcome for the water, by the way." She placed the second bottle of water in front of him; sure, he was a stranger and all, but if she could, she would rather not be part of some other hunters' killing-off-the-old ritual.

"Maybe not, but you do look aged," She pointed out, raising an eyebrow at him, "Have you looked in the mirror lately? How old are you anyway? 30?"

Still bleary, sun-burnt, in need of a shower and a haircut, Jerry clutched the second bottle of water with a hurt expression, "I... I d-don't look that old do I?" His brows furrowed and for a moment, the scruffy, malnourished hunter looked about ready to burst into tears.

"W-well," He wobbled a moment, thinking desperately for a witty come-back. "Your hair looks moldy." Good one.

Right. Right. Door was open now! He could run for it! Find a proper bathroom and a real meal for the first time in almost 24 hours.... but that would involve coordination of the feet and that was an endeavor he wasn't quite sure if he was ready for yet.
PostPosted: Fri May 25, 2012 10:49 pm

"I'm used to people-" Actually just one person, "-saying that my hair 'looks like a watermelon', but moldy is acceptable. Not sure how low quality those dyes Deryk got back were, anyway," She picked at her bangs, free hand on her hip, "Oh, so you're under 30? Might want to take better care of that then."

She basically gestured to all of him.

"I've b-been... locked on the roof for..." He squinted at the sun a moment, "Over a day." He pouted, looking depressed, "F-fine, fine, I can take a hint, ahahaha.." Alright. Left foot, right foot, he can do this. He limped his way towards the door.

Then remembered his coat and nearly tripped over his own bad leg doing a U-turn, stumbling frantically back towards where he had hung it.

"I'll have you know I'm a respected Sun Hunter." Intermediate, by the looks of his coat but that was beside the point.

His head was still swimming and for a moment his vision went black. He blinked awkwardly for a few moments, waiting for his brain to catch up with his physical position.

"And I'm a not so respected Death hunter," She replied, watching him limp to and fro; she had to wonder if he even knew what he was doing at the moment... Which might be why she eventually sighed, walking over to him and swinging his arm over her shoulder to support him, "Let's get you down to the labs. The Lifers will hopefully... Make you less of a derp or return you to your original state or something." Doing what Life hunters do best.

"Ready to walk?" She frowned, prodding him with her elbow.

"Walking's just... just another challenge in life!" He slumped against her, desperately wishing the world would just slow down for a few moments for him to get his bearings. She had said something about Life right? Yeah, he was on topic.

"M'feeling fine now I'm rescued!" He gave her shoulder a pat without letting go.

"When you were about 10 months old, yeah," She retorted, shifting to get a better grip on his arm, "Hold on, old man... Now, one foot at a time." Maybe she should ask them to come up to the roof instead of bringing this guy to them... She turned to look at the so-called respectable sun hunter, narrowing her eyes at him, wondering if he was worth the effort.

He wasn't even blonde.

"You owe me one," She muttered, slowly making her way to the door with him in tow.

"You are.. a nice person, I will make it up to you," Jerry nodded, his right leg squeaking a bit as he limped as eased his way down the steps with her help. "D'you like music? Like... what sort of music? I've got a sort of band, you see, we could... cover your event or gather-ather..." It turned into a cough, his throat still sore from all of the shenanigans, and he fumbled with the second water bottle in his free hand for a moment before pausing their decent to chug it.
