Israfel had been wondering where one might find the elusive guest speaker. Apparently they were available for mentoring, but Israfel was less craving a teacher, more craving answers. About Humans. The siren had been looking for the elusive professor QB for all of… an hour. He did make a point to go ask Arel, but Arel had looked at him, and shuffled him off muttering about how students should learn to knock. So now, wandering around the school grounds, the monster was trying to find the professor. He’d tried the bulletin but didn’t see a sign or number to call. The only listing was to pass his course and have a grief seed and to make a wish. He didn’t do either but… Jack damn it he just wanted to talk, not be mentored. Mentoring was for later. He could do the wishing though. He did it pretty often, so wishing he could find QB was not a hard thing to do in the slightest.

Unfortunately for Israfel, the very elusive professor still did not show up even after another hour. A long hour after that, a couple of gnomes decided to use this prime location around the siren to play a game of toss the dust bunny, the poor creature making strange pathetic noises from time to time as it was kicked in the air.
Even after that time passed, most of the gnomes from the dust bunny kicking tournament had long left, leaving Israfel and a gnome waiting for his ride. The gnome, still holding the injured dust bunny, sidled closer to the student. Shuffle shuffle. One more step closer.
"Watcha doin'?"

He'd gotten a bit sad with the lack of an appearance, and watching gnomes kick around a dust bunny made his heart sink a bit. They could at least give it a chance. Sitting on a rock, earwings twitched as the gnome addressed him.
It wasn't often they willingly talked to students without wanting to kick them in the shins. "I am, was, looking for a professor. Professor QB. Sadly, I ah... am a bit lost as to where he might be." A smile. "You wouldn't know where to find him would you?"

The gnome grumbled. "Everyone wants to find others but noooooo, noone ever asks about me. What about my feelings? I'm important too, I'll let you know I won second place in the annual Pom shaving contest last year, and the year before I..."
A rather fanciful collection of minipets had shown up to listen to the gnome tell his tale, though it was questionable as to whether or not they actually understood. This collection included several animate veggies, a slightly torn but still in mostly-good condition Teddy-Weddy, and an invisible dog, which was there, really.
Oh, and also a Mysterious Contract minipet. It appeared last, sitting with the rest of the minipets.

Earwings drooped as the gnome unleashed his woes. It was a sad lot to be a gnome at Amity. It was a life of service littered the the occasional student hazing. "You must be a very skilled gnome. I do not think I can help you but I think your ah..friends? They might be wondering where you are? They did leave a while ago."
Looking at the tiny crowd of gather minipets, the mysterious contract had Israfel cocking his head to the side. "You look like the professor." Ear wings gave a twitch as an invisible dog barked. "I really ought to go back to looking for him."

The two had a slight staring contest: if it were not for the way the tip of the professor's tail seemed to wisp in and out of existence, the two could have been identical. < I would not call this simple convenience though, as all Fear has a reason to exist. >
They finally looked up at Israfel. < Did you call me for a question or perhaps a request? >

The arrival of the professor got a grin. He did look just like the contract minipet! But unlike the minipet, Israfel didn't think the professor would take kindly to hugs, treats, or pettings and brushings. A small flap of his wings and a nod, the siren explained. "Yes, well no. I didn't really call because I didn't know how to find you. But, yes I wanted to talk to you about somethings that are not really covered here and was hoping with your view you might be able to help me." a small excited flutter to his earwings. "I want to learn more about humans, how they can come to see us, how the live when we're not scaring them, why we don't hear about places like the house you took us to. I- oh sorry. Too many questions at once I will wait."
