Pardon my lack of proper speech for this thread.. I fear it has nothing relevant to the Victorian era, and is far too modern to butcher with such talk.
Now, with that out of the way..
So, was on le facebook earlier.. (also, been trying to track down most of you, for when I go on random hiatuses.. If you haven't received a request from a random strange girl, pm me, (or post here, I don't care) if you would like to be found?) And saw something that I'm not sure whether to be insulted about..
So, last night, was talking with le.. Ex-but-not? Have no clue what on earth to call him. >>;
And so he decided, for grins and giggles, that he was going to attempt to be in a facebook relationship with himself. So, he changed the relationship status. And it showed that he went from single to in a relationship. Which confused me in the first place, as he had left it as "in a relationship" since a friend hacked him and changed it.. And some people commented on it. (He wasn't able to officially be a narcissist, by the way.) Well, one of his male friends joked about it, how they were supposed to keep it on the down low. This just made me laugh. Not offended at all. He commented a few later, and explained that it was the result of him trying to be in a relationship with himself. Well.. two comments down.. Kind of upset me.
The comment. "Is this one actually older than 7?". Referring to his last relationship. With me. And it's technicality, of him being a, by law, slight *****. Which.. Well, it kind of upsets me. Because, I know that it's supposed to be a joke.. But at the same time, it's insulting. I do not carry myself like a seven year old, nor do I act like one. Goodness knows I'm far from the mentality of a seven year old. I'm sixteen, for crying out loud! Not seven! Hell, I believe I am only a month younger than the commenter's girlfriend, which makes HIS slightly worse than my relationship was..
I don't know. Am I just overreacting, or is this slightly justified..? :

I mean.. I guess it just irks me a bit, is all. I know that when he was going through basic training, a lot of his battle buddies seemed to think I was twelve, for some unknown reason.. And I was slightly offended, but not much. But seven? Come on. I'm not that much of an idiot. The thought of me dating a man twelve years older than myself is completely absurd. Especially while I myself am "underage", by law. As I am only sixteen. ._.

Personally, I'd let it go. While it was about you, I think it was more of an insult to him than you. I don't believe he was really saying you were 7, I think it was an over exaggerated crack about the age difference between you and your ex.

So I'm not the only one who couldn't be in a relationship with their ego! I even tried to make a facebook account for it to make things ultra-official.
Be a good sport about it, the age of consent is 16.

Pineapple-- Alright, I shall. ^-^ And, honestly, I didn't exactly notice that. I did, but not much. Not until you pointed it out.

Hm? It wouldn't let you? I, personally, was thinking of suggesting that to him.. He could just copy a lot of stuff from his profile already, and just ignore whatever requests might get sent to that account. xD
And I know this, I had to research heavily to see if/how much potential trouble there was for us to be dating, with him being military and such.. And while the age of consent is 16, there are a lot of confusing as hell laws in this state that make it still not so legal for us to be "dating". >.<;
Kitty-- Yes, as of March the twenty-seventh. If I recall correctly, I'm actually the youngest regular of the guild, I believe. >>;
Hm. Seems I give that impression to a lot of people; a friend on Crys. thought I meant college when I told her I was a sophomore. o.o And, for some reason, quite a few people at my school believe that I'm a senior.. Not sure if this is good or bad. ^^;
Yes, I've come to that conclusion. It has to be how I type. I blame writing. ._.
