Kelsie was busy visiting friends of hers she hadn't seen for a long time, and knowing she would be busy Cupcake had decided to keep himself entertained and how better than exploring really? So he'd slipped out earlier and taken off to explore the new area eyes bright and he excited as could be to see new things.
Of course after awhile, he realized he was hungry and so that led him to following his nose...or perhaps it was more his stomach he was following. Regardless he could smell something and it smelled delicious!
There was sweet smelling stuff, and some meat scented stuff, and some salty scented stuff. In general it was just wonderful smelling stuff. He had his favorites, and those things he absolutely disliked but at this point he thought he might be willing to chew on his own tail, though perhaps not. Either way he continued on his way, realizing he wasn't too far.
"Oh boy..whatever that is smells so good..." he licked his lips as he darted around a corner, and came up outside the building that contained all those wonderful smells. He got up on his hind legs and peered into the window and saw several people inside, and he was able to make out that some were eating, and others just drinking things, several were talking while doing these things. Still he didn't pay much attention to those inside, it was that delicious smelling food that had his attention!
He'd seen restaurants before of course, and had been into them with Kelsie, never on his own. Still when the door was opened he darted inside and stood off to one side and took a deep breath inhaling deeply, and let it out slowly. "Oh man...it smells even better from in here!"

Cotton Candy was busy busing tables while Tulip was at lunch. It wasn't the lunchtime rush at this point, it was time for the late lunch eaters. This suited everyone just fine, they didn't have to worry about no breaks. Really, Cotton Candy wasn't even busy at this time; she only had one table and she'd just dropped their food off and topped off their drinks. It's be a while before they'd need her.
Extra-sensitive ears heard the little exclamation coming from near the door. She could distinguish that it was a Pokemon, but not what kind. As she managed her way around the tables, muttering nonsense. It was her way of "seeing;" echolocation. It was actually the only way she could see anymore.
"Oh! Hello there!" she squealed coming upon the fluffy Eevee. "I'm Cotton Candy, what's your name, cutie?"

He noticed the waitress moving around the tables, but only slightly. His nose was overwhelmed by the scents in the air but the muttering finally reached his ears and he wondered just what she was doing talking to herself like that. It was sort of odd, but he didn't dwell on it. Her name had him blinking.
"Cotton Candy? That's yummy food!" it was! "I'm Cupcake." his tail swished in the air a moment as he looked at her closely. She looked like she was parts of two different Pokemon, that was kinda cool as far as he was concerned! He was looking around the place again, and there was a sudden "Veeeee!" as he spotted the dessert case and ran over looking inside.
"Oh wow would you look at those cakes! They look so pretty! Did you make those Cotton Candy?" he couldn't help the fact his nose was smudging the glass as he all but drooled over the confectionery delights held within. "Something sure smells good, but it's not from in here." he wondered where that smell was coming from as he started to sniff the air again curiously.

"Oh! That's a yummy food too!" she happily chuckled as the Eevee introduced himself.
She "watched" as he scurried over to the case that housed all the pies and cakes that were made in-store. "Oh, I didn't make them, our baker did. I can't even make Ramen noodles." Cotton Candy seemed chipper even admitting her own faults.
"Oh? What is it you smell?" She worked here so long now that she'd become accustomed to the delicious smells that wafted from the kitchen. She did remember when she first started working here though, that she was always hungry. The chefs really knew their stuff and the smells got to her all the time. She remembered gaining a bunch of weight in that first week, it was unstoppable. She smiled sheepishly at the thought.

Cupcake laughed at her comment at his name and nodded his head. "Uh-huh they're my favorite. I could eat them all day I think!" a gross exaggeration of course but he could still pack away plenty of them when given half a chance to do so.
"Ramen noodles? What're those?" he'd never heard of those, but then Kelsie hadn't ever made those, so it was no wonder he was sort of perplexed by that whole new food thing. Still, noodles were yummy, so he assumed these 'rah-men' were as well.
"Everything!! Specifically, it's not sweet. Smells a little spicy...kinda savory. I've never smelled anything like it before. My trainer makes a lot of sweets and I'm pretty good at knowing what those are. But this is something I've never smelled before."
He'd just been thinking of what it would be like working there, how hard it'd be to work, wanting to try all the food...especially these ones here in the bakery case! "I dunno how you do it Cotton Candy! If it was me, I'd be having a hard time not wanting to try everything." he laughed again, and moved away from the bakery case, it was just too tempting looking at them!

"Oh, well..." how to describe them? "Ramen noodles are... ooohhhh... they come in these little plastic packages. They're in a square-type shape." She made a rectangle with her hands in about the same size as a pack of the noodles. "They're noodles that're made outta rice, but then they kinda dehydrate them and stick them a package with a flavor pouch. They're s'posta be super easy to cook..." Her smile faltered into an embarrassed expression. "...but I never make them right. They either end up too dry or too soggy."
Back to the present, she laughed, "Oh, well... I couldn't resist the first week." She blushed a bit. "I ended up gaining a lot of weight."
Cotton Candy looked around, the dining room was beginning to vacate. Bending down to Cupcake's level, she whispered, "Oh, well, I bet whatever you're smelling it coming from the kitchen. Wanna go look?" She motioned towards the kitchen with a jerk of her head, a wing flicking in that direction for added emphasis.

"Ooooh. Those sound yummy, I hope Kelsie will make those some time!" then again a lot of food sounded yummy to him in the end, so it was no surprise that he hoped those would be made. "Awww I'm sure it still tasted good even if it was too much of one or the other!"
Cupcake looked at her with a bright smile, and chuckled. "I'd have the same thing happen to me I bet, and then I'd have to train, and train to get back to my proper size. I can't blame you for wanting to eat, it smells sooooo good!"
The mention of the kitchen made his eyes go wide, an awed look on his face. "The kitchen? Really? I won't get into trouble...or worse get YOU into trouble will I?!" that was the last thing he wanted to do, of course but the offer was soooo tempting! "If you're sure it's okay...then...okay!"

Cotton Candy gave another uneasy laugh, "Oh, not really." Another embarrassed smile came across her face. "But, I'm glad to be able to live with someone who can cook... not to mention that I do get a discount here. That's another reason I gained all that weight the first week."
"Oh, no, they won't mind at all!" She smiled broadly. "I always bring kids back there to show them how things are made, I'm sure they won't mind if I bring you back there. You're smaller than any kid anyway." Cotton Candy's logic was a bit flawed, but her intentions were obvious. She just wanted to share what she could with people... and Pokemon. With that, she turned around and motioned for Cupcake to follow her back to the kitchen. Along the way, she paused to fill the cups of the few patrons that were still around and needed the refills.

"No? Well...I've been told I'll eat anything. So maybe that's just my insatiable appetite talking in the end, but I would be willing to try it anyhow." if that wasn't the sweetest thing ever really. "Well you don't look like you have extra weight, so either you didn't gain that much, or you did a good job of getting it off."
He laughed some and shook his head. "I'm also furrier than any kid you take back there I'm sure. I'll stay out of the way." or try to anyhow. He stepped in with her to the kitchen, and sniffed the air appreciatively. "Wow...it smells even better in here!"
So many delicious smells! He stood in the door way watching everyone working, and there was a low "Wish I could do that...." of course it was impossible, but one could wish, even if it was futile. There was a wistful sigh given as he went up on his hind legs to get a better view of things, one paw resting lightly on Cotton Candy's leg to balance himself.

"Oh, you're just too sweet! Well, I have a long way to walk to get here everyday, so I guess you could say I walked it off." She chuckled, amused at her own joke.
Cotton Candy smiled broadly at Cupcake's exclamation. "Oh, it always smells better at the source." She then had an idea, the poor little Eevee probably couldn't see what the chefs were doing. Carefully, she picked him up and held him to where he could hopefully see what and how they were cooking. "Better?"

"Oooh walks are fun. I love walks!" as hyper active as he was, it was probably a good thing he liked walks, and exercising and all the rest. It helped burn off some of his natural energy.
There was a surprised yip as he was picked up, but ohhhh how wide his eyes went the moment he could see what everyone was doing! "Ohhh...ohhhh! This is soooo cool! Wow they're so busy doing things back here..."
He was very impressed by what he could see, and he was thankful she'd lifted him as well. So much so that he shifted a little and pressed his nose to her cheek and gave her a lick. "Thank you so much!"

Cotton Candy giggled and squeezed him lightly in a hug, "Oh, you're very welcome. I'm glad I could share it with you." She smiled and continued, "Do you want to continue watching them a bit?" A smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth. "Or would you like something to eat?"

The idea of eating was a nice one, but Kelsie had explained how people had to pay for food in places like this, so he shook his head a little, still watching. "I'm okay, but thank you...and we can leave the kitchen so I'm not in the way either."
He wriggled around a little in her arms, content, and happy more than anything. He could hear the bell on the door as it opened, the call of "Cuuuuupcaaaake? Did you come in here boy?"
Which brought a sheepish smile. "Oops...I sorta ran off from Kelsie..."

"Oh, okay," Cotton replied, the warm smile not leaving her face. She thought that perhaps he just wasn't that hungry. "We're not in the way, but-" She was cut off back the calling of Kelsie.
Poking her head out of the kitchen, still holding Cupcake, she beamed a broad smile to the girl. "Oh, he's here!" She ruffed the fur on his head and whispered to him, "Trouble maker, huh?" Chuckling, she walked them both out to Kelsie. "Oh, he's been keeping me company, I hope you weren't too worried."

If Cupcake could blush, he probably would have. Instead he ducked his head sheepishly, a wry laugh given. "Not a trouble maker so much as I took off running...and...ended up here."
He shifted and nuzzled at Cotton Candy's cheek a moment and gave a lick. "I probably have to go now. Maybe I can come say hi again sometime though?" he seemed hopeful then.
Kelsie looked relieved to see Cupcake in the Poketeens arms, and sighed some. "Oh thank goodness! I'm sorry if he was any trouble." Cupcake stayed as long as he could in Cotton's arms before going to Kelsie. "Wow something smells good. I think while we're here we should eat what do you think Cupcake?"
"VEE!" He all but pranced to a booth then and climbed into it, looking pleased. "I'm Kelsie, and that's Cupcake, I'm his trainer." she smiled warmly at Cotton, before moving to follow the apparently excited Eevee.
