For the time being the Bird Clan had settled down rather at the bottom of the Ela’wadiyi lands, down south. This made it very possible, perhaps even likely, for Hari to wander away. She didn’t quite go too far this time, as she had when she met Mamoru, but she had made her way to the very edge of the total pridal territory.

She was probably gearing to wander right out again, the way she was walking. She didn’t even look where she was going, instead, was rather focused on kicking some try… thing along. It was probably a fruit once, but had been rather damaged by the lioness’ pummeling, and rocks, and dirt. So, perhaps fortunately, the thing finally gave up and, with once last kick, it disintegrated as it rolled.

Hari made a strange sound them, quite like a whine. She even sounded like she sincerely felt sorry for the fruit, and stopped her walking to mourn it. Oh well, time to…. Where was she, again? The lioness blinked and raised her head, looking around so she could figure out which way she’d need to go to find Bird Clan again.

It was time for Haikea'sielu to go home, but he just...hadn't quite gotten around to it yet. He'd started to head in that general direction, but he wasn't in any great hurry. He was, in fact, never in a hurry, and was a lion who liked to do everything in his own time. He had, in fact, not been particularly happy to be sent out on his pilgrimage in the first place, since he hadn't felt like he was ready for it. But here he was, having wandered about for some amount of time he hadn't kept track of, with a new name and headed vaguely in the direction of the swamp.

He was not especially excited about any of this, and as he meandered along in a daze of the blahs, hadn't noticed that he'd crossed into pridal territory. He did eventually notice, though, that someone else was wandering about. Huh.

Sielu stopped to consider the distant figure for a moment, but didn't call out a greeting or anything like that. That would have required effort.

Even though she was far form the most attentive of lions, and Sielu didn't even stick out that much, Hari managed to catch sight of him as she swept her eyes over the grasses. Oh, well, fancy that! He didn't quite look very Ela-ish, really. From here she couldn't see much indication of tattoos– but then again, he could have just joined or something.

Or maybe he was a rogue! Either way, Hari didn't mind. The lioness quite liked any distraction and was happy enough to trot over and say hello to this stranger.

Her lack of hesitation might be a little unnerving or even rude as she just trotted over, but at the very least at least she looked completely relaxed and non-threatening. The possibility that this lion could be hostile didn't even cross her mind! Or at least not yet. "Hey!" She greeted cheerfully as she got closer.

Oh, well. She was coming over here. That was alright, he supposed, as he had been feeling just a little lonely lately - just a little, mind you. He wasn't pining for company, but it wouldn't be so bad to talk to someone else for a bit. Frankly, he hadn't talked to anyone in...probably longer than he wanted to think about. Most importantly, since she was coming to him, that saved him the trouble of approaching her, and he liked that.

"Hello," he replied. His voice was a quiet one, with a slight gravelly quality and just a tiny hint of warmth to indicate that her presence was welcome.

Even though his tone wasn't quite the friendliest she had ever heard, Hari did catch on to the hint of warmth. Really, as long as he didn't sound angry or anything, she probably wouldn't have worried too much anyways. Confused, startled? that was fine! She could get past that.

"I'm Hari! Nice ta meetcha." She got over with that quickly enough, to get to what was really important. Before she forgot, because that happened sometimes. "Are you from one of the other Clans? Or from outside?" She just needed that established, to help her figure out a way back to Bird Clan! And then she could do more pleasant things with this random stranger, like chat about fun stuff or play tag or look for fairies or something.

She was a cheerful one, wasn't she? Not that there was anything wrong with that - he didn't mind the super-happy types, really. He only started to take issue when they decided that he should be the same way. Granted, he wasn't unhappy, really, he was just subdued. He didn't have the energy to be energetic all the time!

"'m Sielu," he answered, nearly swallowing up the words as he cleared his throat a little. "Haikea'sielu."

"Clans?" Sielu flicked his ears and glanced about. Clans? Outside? It didn't take a great intellect to gather from that that he'd wandered himself into someone's territory. Ah. Oh well. She wasn't trying to run him out or anything, so he wasn't going to worry about it. "Outside. Didn't realize I'd crossed any borders."

Sielu! She made a mental note to remember that, and usually Hari was good at remembering names if they weren't too long. That shouldn't be a problem.

Though she might be at times discouraged from being too friendly with outsiders, Hari did have trouble being anything but. She just wasn't the sort to get all mean with anyone if she didn't have a very clear reason not to. "Oh! Ok." She didn't mind, though would probably have to point out if he kept wandering inland that Skan might be a little upset over a random stranger wandering about.

"Where are you from?" She asked, meaning more which direction he came from, but ended up neglecting a word or two that would have made the question clearer.

"The swamp. Jini-msemi. I'm on my way home, actually. South of here. But I must have gone more...east than I thought?" It couldn't have been west, or else he was a very, very lost lion, and he was reasonably sure that that was not the case. "Whose territory am I in?"

The swamp? Hmmm, swamp. Hari had probably passed it before, in her days as a rogue, but could not quite recall where it was, or even think of a clear image. "Oooh, okay. Swamp." She nodded, though, like she knew exactly what he was talking about.

"Territory? Um." Hari perked her ears and tilted her head slightly. "Ela'wadiyi, I guess. But I'm also from Bird Clan!" She nodded, hoping if he'd get the idea. That way she wouldn't have to... Well, maybe she should explain anyways. "There's Wolf Clan, Mantis Clan and Shadow Clan and... and Earth Clan and Sky Clan." Yeah, that was all of them. Indeed.

But wait! "Why are you on your way home? Where'd you go?" Since joining the Bird Clan, Hari did wander, but never too far.

Haikea'sielu tilted his head slightly when she elaborated that she was not only Ela'wadiyi - a name he had heard before, in passing - but Bird Clan, and then went on to list more 'clans.' That was a lot of clans. "Are those...families, or something?"

He was a curious lion, as long as said curiosity could be satisfied by easy, non-strenuous things like conversation. "Oh, well, I went a lot of places. I was - it's kind of complicated. We all leave once we're old enough, then go home once we're ready, basically. And we give ourselves new names, to show what we learned."

Even though she might now be the beast teacher around, it delighted Hari to answer questions. Usually when she got questions it'd be silly things, like 'why are you doing that' (well duh, it was fun), not interesting things. "Yeah! Sorta. I mean, I think they used to be family-families, but nowadays it's the other kind of family." The not-necessarily-biological family. "There are all those clans, and together they are Ela'wadiyi. It's kinda like there are little clans in one big clan!" Yeah, that made sense to her, and hopefully to him!

What he said was pretty interesting. They all had to leave, and then come back? Though she had been a rogue most of her life, it still seemed like a pretty exciting adventure. The changing of names was a bit strange! "Oh... that's very interesting. What used to be your name?"

"I see," Sielu said as he absorbed her explanation, nodding. Even if she wasn't necessarily the best teacher around, what she said still made sense. It made him more curious about the nature of this pride and its clans, but he was in no rush to press her for more information.

She asked him her own question, so it was his turn to answer. "My mother named me Bokoboko."

Though he hadn't minded it, in retrospect it was a very cute, childish-sounding name, but that was pretty normal for swampies. They were baby names, never intended to be permanent.

Bokoboko! She smiled, delighted. "That's a cute name!" She didn't mean it as mockery, of course. Hari was barely capable of such things. "Sielu fits you better, though." She nodded, though she didn't quite know why it fit him better.

But right, Hari had best get back one track. She looked around once more, and thought maybe she was finding things more familiar. Or maybe she had just been here a while. "I gotta find my way back, I think." She furrowed her brows, frowning slightly as she surveyed the lands. Turning back to Sielu, Hari grinned. "Wanna come see? Maybe you could help me find them!"

Happily, Sielu was a very difficult lion to offend - if he was going to expend energy on anything, it wasn't going to be that - and besides that, it was true. It was supposed be a cute name. But he also agreed that his new one fit him better. "I thought so, too."

His ears fell a bit when she announced that she had to go, as it seemed that they'd only just gotten started, and there were things he was still curious about- wait, she was...inviting him to come with her? Surprise registered on his face, followed by a slight smile, and his ears flicked forward again.

"I'd like to see. I don't know that I'll be much help, though."

Oh good! She was happy she'd have company while she tried to figure out how to get back to Bird Clan, and hopefully Skan wouldn't even mind that much. Hari held hope for that, anyways. "No worries! We can go with trial and error." She grinned and nodded. She wasn't the sort to fear mistakes, and didn't mine messing up a little every now and then. Besides, it tended to be fun with company.

"I think it's that way." She was actually indicating in whatever direction first came to mind. It just so happened not to be too far off, but... Well, Hari would get back to Bird Clan eventually. "Let's go!" Not that she was in a hurry, but being an active sort, once she put her mind to something it was best to just get going. She took a few steps in the indicated direction, then looked back at Sielu to see if he was still planning on coming.
