With all the journaling and researching she'd been doing, Ami had nearly forgotten to train. It was no wonder she was such a crumby moon hunter- she never trained. She never attempted to better herself physically.
Honestly, at he moment she was just finding new ways to twirl Junpei to keep her mind busy. It wasn't like twirling a baton or a broom, because of the jagged second prong at the pointed end of the glaive. You had to have a certain balance with it, wave it a certain way.

Syd trained daily. It was almost like she was addicted to it, the consistent way that she jogged to the training field, spending half the day shooting targets. She had a certain schedule of training, even, a small breakfast before a quick jog in the morning, an hour shooting targets, then studying, lunch, one of the training courses, possibly--
She was so busy listing her mental schedule that she didn't even notice Ami there. Whoops.

Ami certainly saw her though. As soon as the girl walked in the door, she gave a loud groan and stopped twirling Junpei.
After all, there was no way she was going to practice with Syd watching. She pretended to weigh Junpei in her hand, like that actually mattered. She continued to glare at the ground and rolled her eyes as the other hunter seemed to breeze right past her.
< Go say something Ami! > Junpei said impatiently.
No ******** you, was all she responded.
< Okay fine, just sit there and glare at her. >
I'm NOT glaring at her.
< ... You're totally glaring at her. >
A loud frustrated sigh escaped Ami's mouth. Poor Sydney might think it was for her.

Syd pulled to a stop. For a moment she stood there, arguing with her inner voice before she turned, looking at Ami with a bland expression. "Are you having difficulty training alone?" she asked. "You should find someone to spar with, it will help."
Then she started to turn away again, since she really didn't want to offer her services.
Oh... that was tempting...

That's it, this b***h was toast.
"Oh that sounds like a challenge twinkle-toes," she said, scoffing at nothing in particular. She noticed the sassy lilt to the black-haired hunter's gait. That just oozed confidence- no- ARROGANCE.

Ami didn't bother dignifying that statement with a response, and instead just ran in, Junpei swinging. There was no bother hiding her discontent or her contempt, so it was best to just let the sparks fly.
With a solid swing, she hit the other girl on her arm. Not really a great hit, but a good start.

It was too good a shot to miss, Syd thought as she pulled the trigger, hitting the moony straight on, ruthlessly. She was still a bit irritated at the princess thing--even though she knew it really hadn't been Ami--but the whole tentacle thing HAD BEEN.
Izy said smugly.

Ami recoiled visibly as the arrow stabbed through her thigh, only to fall out. It wasn't a hard shot, but it was a straight one.
"Next time aim a little higher. My heart's up here," she said, tapping it gently, mocking the girl by trying to "teach" her. She then jabbed her glaive forward, grazing across the girl's other arm. Ami's only strategy was to go for both her arms.
You couldn't really fire a crossbow without arms.

"Actually I'm aiming for your hair," Syd said cheerfully. The truth was, she really enjoyed sparring. The idea of sparring with someone she didn't particularly like was even more entertaining, because she could work out her irritation without worrying about hurting them too much. She brought up Izy again, jumping back to get some distance--and shot.

Ami looked rather insulted and said, "You're actually a monster, you know that?" She was actually beginning to grow numb to all the annoyance she felt about this girl.
She stepped forward and twisted Junpei until he smacked soundly into her right arm, making a loud thwacking noise. Yowch that sounded like it hurt.
Then again, so did the arrow mark in her thigh.

"No, I've chatted with monsters," Syd said. "Some are much nicer than I am," she finished, bringing up her crossbow and aiming. She really believed it, too. If Isra was telling the truth, and so far she had met him twice and seen the same reactions, he was much nicer than she was.
But that was still just one. She'd fought with others that weren't.

Ami dodged the first arrow that came flying her way, and then got hit by the second one. It seemed she was always a second too slow for reflexes to dodge. She would always be a step behind, huh?
Angrily, she swung Junpei, intending to simply hit the girl again, but instead Junpei decided it was time to release a massive amount of FEAR in a completely opposite direction. As a trainee, she was still horribly synced up with her weapon.
Junpei what the ******** was that?!

Ami tried to play off her frustration suavely. "Are you actually siding with the thing we're supposed to be killing? That's disgusting."
