Welcome Gale Stalker Wingriders! This is the first official training orp for the wing. It is not appearance mandatory. For those that show, and post at least 5 times you get .5 EXP.
One post per character please. Roll a 1d20 with your post when you attempt a stunt.
Breakdown: 1-5: You attempt fails.
6-9: So so. Average flying, nothing really impressive.
10-16: Better than average.
17-19: Very impressive flying.
20: Outstanding! You’ve wowed the crowds!

S’kor had picked a lovely day for his tests. Well it wasn’t so much tests as letting his Wing’s riders show off flying skills. The previous day at dinner, he had spread the word that the Gale Stalker Wing would be holding a small training exercise. Riders could come and show off their flying skills and tricks to the rest of the wing. He had also made it very clear that attendance was not mandatory. It would be interesting to see who showed up and who didn’t.

A clipboard in hand there was nothing he could do except wait. Dark coal grey eyes scanned the field he’d picked for the wing’s meeting place. Didn’t look like anyone was coming yet. S’kor leaned comfortably against a large bronze shoulder. Such a good day for flying. The sun was warm, but not too bright. A light breeze teased at his hair. If no one showed he was more than half tempted to go enjoy a flight himself. Let Scarath stretch his wings a bit. Behind him he could feel the bronze rumble almost like a chuckle.

Do not fear Mine. I am sure some will show if to impress you. The bronze turned his head. His blue eyes keeping track of his rider and the field. It would be good to see the dragons and riders they would have to work with.

For once F'ren was ready rather quickly. He'd gotten used to switching to his riding gear fast and even getting Toulonth's riding straps on was a breeze for the Greenrider. He still forgot things, often but as Riding had become as easy as breathing to F'ren, nothing about preparing and checking for safety was forgotten. A far cry from when he was a weyrling and failing to get the gear on right that first time the two of them Flew. Today was exciting but in his methodical way, F'ren made sure nothing was amiss or out of place.

"You ready Toulonth love?" he asked her with a grin and a loving rub along her eye ridges as she bent her head to look at him. "I am always ready Mine, let's go show the others what we've been learning" she hummed at him, pushing him with her head, urging him towards her saddle.

F'ren didn't need telling twice and he hopped up, taking no time at all to swing himself up after lightly stepping on the offered leg of his beloved Green. She was still fairly proddy but he didn't think she was going to rise today. Toulonth bugled as they reached sight of the Bronze Wingsecond, greeting her favorite Bronze warmly.

Honestly, S'koi wasn't entirely sure why he had decided to go. While he was interested in watching the rest of the wing show-off, he himself wasn't one that remotely wanted to be the center of attention. However, he also didn't want to potentially disappoint his Wingsecond by being one of the only riders not to show. Thus said, he and Laith had gotten themselves ready and made their way over to the announced meeting place. At least it seemed that they were not late.

It would be difficult to be late when we left our weyr as early as we did, Laith pointed out, mildly amused. Still, she herself was also curious to see how this session would go. Hopefully the others would show soon?

S'koi gave a polite bow of greeting to two riders already present, and Laith likewise nodded to their dragons. "Good day, S'kor, F'ren." This would be an interesting experiment, if nothing else. Perhaps if enough of their wing showed he and Laith may even be able to get away with simply watching from the ground.

D'lin was not the first or even second to arrive - but that was alright, this exercise had been S'kor's idea and since it had been a great idea D'lin had let him run with it. He was certainly interested to see who came and what happened however so even though S'kor was running thing's he and Plexith had come to watch anyways.

Landing nimbly beside the larger bronze Plexith rumbled a greeting to the dragons whom had already arrived as he tucked his wings as D'lin dismounted. "Morning everyone" He greeted those present with a warm smile.

Somehow he felt he shouldn't be surprised when the first to show was F'ren. He shaded his eyes and waved as the green sounded her greeting. S'kor pushed off the soft shoulder and went to stand in front of him. Was Toulonth looking a bit brighter today? He directed a query at his dragon.

Shortly after F'ren, another rider showed up. S'koi. An amused thought made the corner of his mouth twitch. Ironic that two greens should arrive before anyone else. He made two notations on his clipboard. "Greetings F'ren, and S'koi. I'm glad you came today. Ready for some flying?" He nodded his approval to them both.

"Wingleader." S'kor saluted D'lin when the man arrived. Good. Having him there would give him a second set of eyes should a large number of the wing show.

Scarath gave an amused glance to his rider as the first dragon appearred. See Mine? And you doubted them. He teased His before turning his head to Toulonth. A deep rumble answered her call. Good morning Toulonth! Is Yours' ready for today? His eyes whirled blue-green. The bronze turned slightly to welcome Laith and then Plexith.

He settled himself more comfortably and looked closer at the green. Soon, soon Mine. She will know when she is ready. Scarath would say no more

"We are as ready as the rest," the greenrider answered with a faint smile, vaguely amused by S'kor writing on his clipboard. Was there a secret roll call being taken for the non-mandatory attendance flight?

At the arrival of their wingleader, S'koi and Laith both once more gave a polite bow and dip of the head respectively. "Good morning." Thus far it seemed they had two bronzes and two greens. How many of the others would show?

Not mandatory or mandatory, Akaya knew a good idea when she heard one. With Threadfall, one really couldn't pass up the chance to stay in peak performance condition - she knew that from her Harpering days. Just as she wouldn't have dared skip an additional practice the Masters made specific note of, hearing the word of this meeting at dinner meant she would be there. Sleeth was not hard to persuade, being excited to socialize with her wingmates, show off, and admire and cheer them on in turn.

The weather was lovely for flying, but she couldn't help but be a little nervous as she approached the gathering group. Maybe it was because there were only a few besides the Wingleader and Wingsecond present? She gave D'lin and S'kor the proper deference and salute. The dragons caught her eye next, bronzes, a green starting to turn 'that gleaming' she'd come to recognize in others beyond her own green - which admittedly made her a little uncomfortable, that if she could see it in another's dragon it was all too easy to read it in her own. Luckily, Sleeth had Risen some time back, and wasn't due for quite some weeks.

The last dragon brought a faint smile to her face. Laith meant S'koi, so... "Hello," she said, smiling a greeting to her fellow wingriders as she stepped to join the knot of humans. "Did I miss anything yet?"

F'ren beamed at S'kor, he was a good man and F'ren respected him. He and his dragon weren't often too busy to socialise with a 'mere' Green and her rider. He was fond of the Bronze, always seeming to have a word for anyone. He nodded as S'koi showed up then gave a curt salute as his wingleader landed. "S'kor, S'koi, Wingleader D'lin." he said as each man gathered.

Toulonth gave a small hum and settled herself near to Scarath, she couldn't remember why but she knew he was her favourite dragon, especially at the moment. "Mine is ready, As am i Scarath, ready to show what we have leaned" she said, an slight undertone to her reply.

F'ren nodded when Akaya showed and eyed Toulonth, she was brighter but showed no signs of being in immediate danger of Rising but he was concerned that there were now three Greens in one space with two bronzes. He knew that S'kor was probably already aware and gave him a small grim smile. She'd better not decide to Rise in the middle of doing stunts.

An irritated crimson was not likely to be a good addition to the gathered group...but the group was going to get just that anyways as a disgruntled Cheryth rumbled an irritated greeting to those gathered.

"You see" Ca'mil proclaimed with an exasperated gesture at the gathered riders "We're not late..no one's even started doing anything yet!"

'Perhaps..but we would have actually been here at the proper time if you had not insisted on dallying about so' Cheryth announced broadly and added an angry sounding snort just for good measure.

"Your just moody because you know your going to rise in a couple weeks" Ca'mil shot back at the scarred crimson before sliding down her shoulder and joining the other rider's "Sorry for being a bit late, I got caught up in other things and didn't realize the time"

"S'koi,F'ren,Akaya" D'lin greeted the riders as they gave their own greetings. It was interesting really - to see who it was that had shown up for S'kors little informal test. And just as he was about to assure the green rider Akaya that she hadn't missed anything quite yet the shadow of another arrival drew his attention and shading his eyes he took note of the new arrival. Ah Cheryth and Ca'mil..although neither of them looked all that pleased to be here. "Ca'mil" He greeted the new arrival "As I was just about to tell Akaya here..no worries, nothing's started quite yet"

He too was aware of the collection of greens and bronzes..and now it seemed they were adding a slightly irritable possibly starting to get proddy crimson to the mix. Oh the joy.

S’kor felt positive that so many had chosen to attend on their own. He noted down the newest arrivals, then tucked the clipboard under his arm. It was a personal amusement that it was the ‘lesser’ colors which had shown. Did that mean the others felt too good to bother or just not care? Shaking his doubts aside, he stepped toward the center of the group of dragons. Gesturing that the riders should move to where they could hear him easily.

Those who showed up came prepared to go. Good. No dallying with this group. He gave a nod of welcome to Akaya and her dragon, then shook his head. “This is pretty informal so no one arriving will be counted late.” S’kor gave the group a small smile. His voice carrying easily to everyone.

“Welcome everyone. This isn’t going to be a normal training session. Basically I’m looking for you to show me your flying skills. Whatever you feel like doing or are comfortable with.” He gave a glance around the riders. “Any questions ask any time.”

Welcome Sleeth. We are glad you and Yours came. Scarath hummed, pleased, when Toulonth settled beside him. He draped a wing over her back for a moment to show his approval. Not that he was a possessive dragon. I look forward to watching you.

His head dipped politely to the crimson and her rider. Do not fret Cheryth. Scarath rumbled soothingly to her. It has pleased Mine that you have come.

S'koi too smiled at Akaya's arrival and gave her a silent nod of greeting. It was always nice to have a friendly face around. Not to say that the others present were not also friendly, but he didn't know them quite as well outside of wing activities. A fault entirely his own, to be sure.

The greenrider's attention turned toward the approaching crimson pair and them too he gave a silent nod of greeting. It was much easier to get away with not speaking when there were more people around, and an irritable crimson dragon certainly did a fair job of drawing attention onto itself and away from the rest. Speaking of attention though, S'koi turned his focus back onto their wingsecond once he began to address the group. Considering that this was a show of flight agility, perhaps it was fitting that the group was composed largely of greens. They were quite known for their ability to weave through the air as it was. Still, this should prove to be an interesting session.

While this technically might not have been mandatory, Pipith didn't see it that way. He couldn't not show up - that would look lazy! And besides, he would take most any chance he got to to show how good he was at flying...or anything else, for that matter. But in this case, probably just flying.

The bronze would have liked to have been the first one there, but typically enough, his rider had held them up. Set'al often moved at his own pace, and while in their first turns as a pair he'd let Pipith boss him around and hurry him up, he'd eventually gone back to taking his time. A little less time than before, but still not enough to satisfy His.

When they did finally arrive, Pipith rumbled a greeting. And couldn't help but notice that one of the greens was looking a bit on the bright side. His tail curled with delight. Hello, everyone... Toulonth.

Pipith... Set'al whomped him gently on the leg. "Hey guys."

As Pipith arrived Plexith rumbled a greeting to his fellow bronze, several of the wing however had not come 'Shall I remind the others of this meeting?' He queried his rider with a tone of annoyance in his voice.

'No, we told them it's not mandatory' D'lin answered his bronze, taking a look at the skies to see if he could see any other approaching pairs. It seemed that this was going to be the core of the group today, perhaps more would show up later on. In the mean time D'lin turned his attention to those who were present. S'kor was already explaining things and D'lin went to join him "As S'kor says - this is informal and mainly so that we can get a better idea of how everyone might work together...please don't feel the need to push your dragon or yourselves, we don't want any injuries today"

When his rider reminded him that things weren't mandatory Plexith relaxed a little bit more - golds help the wing if it had been mandatory and this was all whom had shown up - Plexith would have personally gone to each and every Weyr and ordered them all out. Toulonth's attention to Scarath was not unnoticed - all the girls liked him because he was bigger the bronze sulked silently to himself, but she wasn't gold so it was only a minor annoyance.

Ah look. Here comes Set'al and Pipith. At least they are not too proud. He nodded to the other bronzerider. "Welcome Set'al. Go ahead and get started guys." His eyes looked around at the other riders. There wasn't a large number of riders here. It would certainly be feasible for the them to fly alone; on the other hand, S'kor wanted to see if they could and would organize themselves into pairs to do stunts.

At the very least he wanted to see them flying. He nodded when D'lin mentioned injuries. They certainly didn't need those with Thread falling so recently. "Any questions you have while in the air can be relayed to Scarath." Now it was time for him to watch.

Scarath hummed. Pipith is small enough to preform some good manuvers. I look forward to see what he does. He looked around at the other dragons and rumbled encouragement to them.
