Can you legally (in California) carry a gun or a sword/katana/other bladed weapon. on you legally if you have all the proper permits (my brain is kinda broken at the moment so i dont know if that is the correct word.)
I mainly ask because i'd like both a gun and katana for home defense. Also i want to become trained in swords and other fighting styles that involve weapons ^_^ Also i want to become a skilled Marksman. ^_^

A sword/katana/bladed weapon is fine. HOWEVER, they have to be visible. You can't conceal a bladed weapon, as that is illegal.
You can get a permit allowing you to carry a concealed gun in california, but the gun laws are strict. You have to be a resident of california, and you may have to complete a certification that says you understand the responsibility of having a gun. IF you are going to leave it at home though, you don't need a concealed gun permit; ONLY if you plan on carrying it with you. Also keep in mind that many places don't allow firearms on premises, like schools and government buildings.
There are local county and town laws you need to observe too. You should look into it all, and make sure you'll be okay in whatever area you live in.
