Isabis nose twitched as she took in all the many different scents lingering in the air. Her pups had all grown now and had lives of their own, it made her feel very proud but sad in a way. She loved pups, it was nice how they depended on a mother and sometimes a father if they were lucky enough. Isabis' left ear twitched at the far off sound of little creatures moving about. It was morning and from the sounds of things everyone was waking up.
Letting out a semi-loud yawn and stretching her muscles, which were coming along nicely from all the digging she had been doing lately, Isabis looked out the opening of her home. "Suppose I've rested enough. Brekkie time~" She stood gracefully and headed outside to warm weather.

Wandering around these lands was strange. The black and white wild dog remembered his sister telling him something about him being the one who was supposed to find food for the morning... But he was lost already. He flicked his head right and left, seeing nothing but the odd pile of rock formations here and there. When did those happen, anyways? Where was he..?
He supposed he lost track of the time when he left his sister's snoring body back at their makeshift home last night. If he went back now, maybe he would be able to backtrack in time for his sister's awakening. But he didn't find their morning meal yet - could he go back without it?
Surely not; last time he tried getting away with that, she slapped him silly! His stomach rumbled suddenly, as if in agreement. He sighed, bringing his head around to look forward at the cave-looking things in the distance once more. Maybe there were things inside them. His paws hurried off, running towards them. It was early in the morning; if there were creatures inside, surely they'd still be napping - it was the best time of the day to find food! Perhaps there was also leftover dinner in those caves he could... borrow, too...
As he rounded the corner of a rather comfy den, he peeked his dark red eyes into the opening, ears raising up in mild alarm as he heard some voice come out from within. Ah! He was caught!
"Oh my, I've been caught, you caught me!" he exclaimed as he saw the dark red figure come, "Well, uh, do what you will to me, but I've nothing but a sister waiting for me!"
He bowed submissively, lowering his ears and shaking his head at the ground, though he kept a watch on the stranger just to see what she would do.

Isabis had just reached the lip of the cave when she came to an abrupt stop. She blinked in shock at the semi-comical sight happening in front of her home. An adult male wild dog convulsing? on the ground. "Oh, oh my. Are you alright?" She cautiously stepped into the sunlight which caused her pink fur to stand out even more in the light. "There, there--" She wiggled her left paw out in flustered comfort motion not knowing how to deal with this situation. "I--well I just was off to find something to eat and-" She found herself eyeing the male with interest, his pelt certainly was eye catching and oh, he had the same eyes as she did. "I don't think I've seen you around here before." She began cautiously wondering if the border patrol was slacking off again.

The stranger seemed to have some look on her face as she watched him. What look was that? Surely she was not going to reprimand him. When he realized that, he got up and smiled straightaway, bowing gently before her.
"Yes, yes, I'm fine. I er - was also looking for something to eat, but be assured I wasn't looking to steal from such a..." he paused as his eyes glossed over her red and pink pelt - a strange but marvelous sight, "Such a fine lady."
His eyes widened in accordance to hers, knowing well that he was being watched - though perhaps not in trial for being a criminal.
"Ah, around here? Your home?" he questioned, turning his head back from her to look around again.
"Yes, I've never seen such structures. You have a nice home. Lots of these dens around here for just one lady like yourself... Doesn't it get lonely sometimes?" he tilted his head questioningly, "Or maybe you have a brother or sister, too?"

Oh lordy this stranger had an amazing smile and the bowing. Isabis felt her face warm up in a happy flush and a giggle slipped from her mouth before she could stop it. She never acted like this before--possibly spring fever? -- but there was something about this male that-- "Maybe we could.. go get something to eat together?" She raised a brow in question. "Why yes, you sir are on Peke'Na lands." She smiled kindly and waggled her tail a bit. "I once ventured the rogue lands but found my home here among the PekeNa clan" She tilted her head at his question and thought. "Well... it does get lonely sometimes and sadly no I was not lucky enough to have a sibling nor parents as they died when I was young." Isabis was a strong female it hurt of course when she was younger being off alone but now the things she went through only made her stronger.
"I do have three children though," Just thinking of them brought about happy emotions. "They've all but grown on me. So you have a sister do you? Is she around here as well?" Curious she looked, or tried to look over, the males shoulder to see if another female was about. "Ah, I'm Ancientheart by the way. I was gifted that name when I first joined these lands. It's nice to meet you..?"

His stomach rumbled - an answer to her considerate offer. Oh, yes, he'd like to eat; but wait! He had a sister waiting for him. He shuffled his paws momentarily, looking up and down quickly, and then blinked, widening his smile at her giggles and warming attitude. She was enjoying herself! It was great news to him, and propelled his reply to the desire:
"Yes, fine dining with a fine lady like yourself at the peak of the morning would be... fantastic!" he exclaimed, wagging his tail along with hers.
"Peke Na, you say?"
He didn't think he was intruding on anything. He hadn't seen anyone along his path! Perhaps, though, it was a bit too early for random wild dogs running about the lands. Though he supposed if there was a pack, guards would be observing the lands at any time of day. Or perhaps these lands were lenient on their visitors.
"I regret hearing about your parents," he replied somberly, "But children! Ah, are they around?! I am great with them!"
He laughed, finding each second with this female a greater discovery and to be quite frank, very fun and enjoyable.
"My sister, Mi-me, is far away - I gather I took too long of a trail. No fear, however, as I'll run back for her later in the day. And oh! Excuse me!" he shook his head, ashamed of his manners, and bowed again, "Delighted, Ancientheart. I am Mwiga. If I may ask, you had... another name before you made your home here?"
Curious how there could be more than one name. But he supposed some of his family had more than one, too.

"Wonderful! You flatterer you~" She flushed again. "I usually eat with myself or if I am lucky enough to see one of my child then I eat with them. And yes, Peke'Na."
She gestured for him to follow her while they chatted, it couldn't hurt to start look for food while conversing. "It was very unfortunate, but that is the way of the world... sometimes." She smiled bravely before continuing. "I am sure they are if we are lucky enough we could run into them. Oh so you like children Mwiga? I do too there is just something about them that brings about happiness!" She eyed the male with even more interest.
"Mi-me? What a lovely name," She nodded her head and eyeing the surroundings to see if anything would pop up to eat. "Oh, are you lost? And I understand the need to be with family-" She was somewhat saddened by the thought of this interesting male leaving but understanding. " You two must be very close, which is nice to have and see." She grinned and waggled her tail once again.
"Well," Isabis hestiated as there was somewhat of a rule of not mentioning your real name before joining but what could it hurt. "Before joining here my name was Isabis and it's a pleasure to meet you Mwiga." She was about to open her mouth again when the sound of a crash from the bushes distracted her from the conversation.

Mwiga beamed at the lady, proud that he was making her enjoy herself. That was his trade and life's passion, after all. He eagerly followed her to wherever she wished to take him - obviously he did not know these pride lands, and perhaps she would lead him to a hunting ground or a bountiful place of sorts. It was all exciting, really! He had never really intruded on any territorial region before; perhaps there was something he could learn and take back from this area...
"That would be nice, to run into others here," he commented, "If they are anything like you, I can imagine that'd be a fun and happy lot! I do enjoy children very much, however, as I've had to deal with them in my trade. I'm an entertainer, of sorts!"
He laughed, briefly remembering the times he had amused a gathering of small youth. They were just excitable and brimming with energy!
"And yes, my sister and I stay quite close to each other. I'm sure I'll find her after retracing my steps. No worries there!" he smiled, appreciating her being considerate and open.
"Ah, now both those names are enchanting, and Isabis is something my ears can be more familiar with, but I understand these traditions. Very delighted, Ancientheart!"
When the sound came, Mwiga's ears perked and his attention went out of the conversation, just like Ancientheart's, and he looked towards the bushes.
"Something's there!" he exclaimed obviously, immediately pouncing into the bush to see who the intruder was.
Mwiga's face was met with a bunch of leaves, and he retracted almost as soon as he went in, and a few twigs hung from his mouth as a result. He liked to think that his sister was always the one more efficient at this element of surprise thing.

"Oh," She exclaimed while turning her head towards Mwiga with interest. "An entertainer you say? That sounds like lots of fun. What is your speciality? I have heard among other tribes there are singers, dancers, and um-" She blushed heavily while awkwardly continuing, "-those that indulge in adult activities." She looked at him out of the corner of her eye hoping she did not offend him, it happened sometimes though. "Yes, I have to agree both our names are lovely. " Isabis' eyes sparkled with humor. "Oh, good I am glad. It is nice to have support of ones family-" There it was again the noise and Isabis blinked in shock as Mwiga attacked the bush. A surprised laugh broke from her mouth before she could stop it. A pissed off rabbit snorted at the two of them before wiggling it's butt as it turned and wander off.
Mwiga was rather cute in a way, like a little puppy. "Are you alright?" She wandered closer eyes softening and began to wipe away stray twigs from his mouth tenderly with her paw. " No thorns? Those things hurt, a lot. My poor Shaman, ever the curious one, landed in a picker bush." She winced at the mental image of her pup screaming in pain. It had not been a wonderful experience, but she had handled it quite well being on her own. She shook her head to bring herself back to the present to find the male staring at her curiously as they were closer physically. She couldn't look away from him, it was like she was caught in his gaze.

Mwiga rubbed his nose, catching the last fleeting glance of the rabbit before it went away. Well, that wasn't the first time he let something escape. He had almost forgotten their line of conversation by the disturbance, but when Ancientheart came to remove his twigs, he stood still in place, managing to stare at her while she was working. When she was done, she returned the stare, and he didn't exactly let it go instantly - curious by the act, he continued, exchanging the lock of both their dark red eyes.
"I'm perfectly fine," he confirmed, still looking, "Ahh, yes, entertaining and fun... But adult activities?"
He was honestly unsure of what she meant - all that he did was for the humor of his crowd, and perhaps a bit of his childhood innocence showed as he tried to understand Ancientheart.
"I'm particularly good at mimicking another one's actions and imitations, those sorts of things are a huge crowd-pleaser. Of course, my sister and I are a double act, you'd definitely get a better showing from me if my partner were around..." he blushed, suddenly embarrassed that he wouldn't be able to give this kind lady a proper showing.

She blinked and broke almost hypnotic stare to look at the ground with a blush. "Um, yes you know... adult--when one uses ones body to enter....tain." She stopped there not really knowing if she should proceed or not, but hastily added. "Not that I would know any such things from experience! I just heard... around is all." She switched topics. "I like your form of fun, it sounds like you had to have many years of practice. Skill and talent I like that in a male." She smiled cutely with eyes closed and all, it was almost cheeky. Something she rarely had done anymore, it had been such a dry-spell with little to no males around. " Well, then I will have to meet your sister at one time or another to see what I am missing. Care to join me down by the water? I could use a drink and a quick swim."

Using one's body to entertain? Yes, he could only assume he did that because he did use his body to imitate others at times. Any form of mimicking was his specialty! To that, he eagerly nodded, despite the confusion from her sudden anxiousness.
"Ooh, I'd love to show you, then. If Mi-me came around looking for me, you will definitely be in for a good cheer! And yes, a morning dip would be delightful!"
Mwiga followed her quite closely, shadowing her form as he let her lead the way. Ancientheart was full of interesting ideas and suggestions, and the more time was passing, the more he was finding himself pleased by crossing paths with her. How lucky the father of her children is!
"Oh! You never told me," he said suddenly, realizing his thought, "Is your children's father around? Or perhaps he's sleeping the morning away along with the young ones. Ha!"

"Then it is a date then!" Isabis wagged her tail eagerly at the idea of seeing something enjoyable, it was always nice to have a good laugh. A frown flitted across her face before it was replaced by a smile, "Oh, I do not have a mate nor do my children have a father. I had to raise them myself-" She winked at him to make light of the secret heartache. "Let me tell you, it was a hard yet satisfying experience. My pups... I wouldn't change having them for anything in the world and if in future I welcome whatever comes my way. If I am lucky enough for more little ones I will raise them with all the love I have. With or without a lifemate."
As they walked she brushed herself teasingly alongside the other male every now and then. Her eyes lit up as she spotted a familiar area. "And here were are, PekeNa watering hole!" She trotted over and dunk her paw in to flicker the water at Mwiga playful. "Want to have some fun?" She wiggled her eyebrows up and down before jumping into the cold water. "Ho! That's a cold one!" Lazely moving her body around the refreshingly liquid. "Come join me my good sir and afterwards we can spend the time either napping or whatever comes our way." She softly sang out the last word loving the idea of spending a good time with a male and enjoying the good weather.

"Admirable!" he thought out loud, beaming at Ancientheart's enthusiasm and her speech of perseverance through hardship.
She was a proud and well capable female, Mwiga could tell that. It was a pity that he had to continued travelling on with his sister, never staying twice for a pack in which they had no part. Perhaps one day, one day soon...
His eyes lit up, then noticing the brief moments of contact the female allowed herself against him; Mwiga was new to this behavior, and he grinned at the gentle, amused feeling he got. She, too, was entertaining him - perhaps she also had the makings for an entertainer...
"With you, my merry lady!" he replied as he followed her perfectly into the water, not caring for its cold or wetness; he was eager to ease the anticipation of whatever life had in store for the couple.
