Candace couldn't get out of that golem fast enough. She was so done with that reaper girl! So done! She was no help at all! And to think, if that girl had been human they could have been friends. They could've exchanged fashion tips. They could've gone shopping.
Sigh.
Ruffling her hair with frustration, Candace straightened out her coat and walked briskly out of the pod room. Candace was pretty sure she hated reapers more now than she did before, not just because they looked too human but because..
Freya was annoying as s**t.
She pulled her notebook out of the pocket of her coat, brow furrowed as she walked down the halls of the life labs toward H's office. She needed advice. Actual advice, not some sultry innuendo that ended with her clothes strewn about the floor and her--okay. No. Don't think about that. That is mistake number one. You're not some nympho, Candace. You can have a conversation with the doctor without..yes. You can do it. She needed honest advice.
"Oh yes I know Mitsu here let me show you where she is oh wait nevermind this isn't where she is maybe Mitsu is over here. Over here? Here. Aw, no. We must have just missed her." Candace's voice was high-pitched and mocking, muttering to herself in annoyance. She wrote in her notebook as she walked, jotting down notes of what little she had learned of the wolf girl.

Deryk had been making his way through the halls, looking to do a coffee run. He needed his coffee. Yes. The cafeteria stuff wasn't the best, but it was still much better than the stuff they had in the underground bunker. Ugh. Though, as he moved along, he paused as he heard Candace murmuring under her breath while storming past him.
"Wait. Mitsu? You looking for Mitsu? What for? Won't find a wolf girl here. Wrong place," he blinked. Unless there was a Mitsu Hunter right now. In which case he probably just looked like a dork right now. Well. More of a dork than usual.
Though, the fact that she mentioned a Valkyrie meant it probably wasn't a hunter. Then again, it was still possible she was looking for someone else.

She almost didn't stopped, too annoyed and determined to catch what Deryk had said at first. Candace made it as far as the end of that stretch of hallway before it hit her.
Deryk had said wolf girl.
Candace stopped, looking up from her notebook and turning around to see if Deryk was still there. He was.
He...knew Mitsu?
She turned on her heel and hurried back up the hall, slowing as she reached Deryk. She looked surprised and fairly confused. "You..know Mitsu?"

Turning to face Candace more, Deryk smiled with a nod.
"Yep! Least if we're thinking of the same person. Red eyes. White hair. Kinda short. Sweet girl really. Kinda timid. Met her while on recon once. Had to fetch a few things for Caelius in Halloween," he said before tilting his head. The mist hunter looked and sounded rather annoyed. It had him wondering what she'd need to seek out the wolf for. From what he could tell, Mitsu didn't really strike him as the type to really get on someone's nerves. But then again, he had only run into her once. Things could have changed he supposed.
"Need to find her for something?"

Oh my god. That was her to the ******** letter. Atropos cackled with laughter. To think! All you needed to do was angrily mutter about her in the hallway! Hahahaha! Oh, Candace! She rolled her eyes. Yeah, yeah. Haha.
"Ah..yeah, actually! She's...that's her exactly!" Candace was looking more and more surprised by the second. He knew her target. This was perfect. Maybe she didn't need to go to H for advice after all!
"I do, actually. I'm...well..she's my choice for weapon candidacy.." Her eyes widened a little. "Do you know how or where I can find her?"

This came as a bit of a surprise to Deryk.
"She wants to be a weapon?" he said with a tilt of his head. Well, he supposed he could kind of see it. But just the image he had in his mind didn't really fit the requirements. Or did it? He wasn't sure. Things could have changed.
"Don't know where her room is. But! I have her phone number. Unless she got a new number, should be able to contact her that way. Yes," he nodded.

Candace paused. "Not...exactly.." She scratched at her cheek, looking away almost sheepishly. "But she could. She seems easy to manipulate, I'm sure I won't have any trouble convincing her. It's all about providing the right argument for your case." She grinned then, flipping to a new page of her notebook.
"A phone number, huh~? Look at you, ladies man. Living up to your name!" Bond, of course. "Do you have it on hand or do we need to go get it from somewhere?"

Now that Deryk could see more easily. She did come off as kind of timid to him and all, so it might not be too hard to talk her into things. Nodding at this, he soon paused as he tried to remember where he had that phone number. Though, there might have been a bit of color rising to his cheeks as Candace called him a 'ladies man'.
"Uhh might be on my phone. Lemme check."
The death trainee whipped out the cellphone before looking through his contacts list. Ah! There it was. Before long, he had Mitsu's number on the display.
"Right here."

Candace squealed with joy and hugged the notebook to her chest, bouncing on her toes and watching Deryk with wide eyes and an excited grin. This was it! This was like...the best thing to happen since..like...a week ago! This was great! She was finally making progress!
When he showed her the number she squealed again, quickly writing down the number. Oh god! This was it! She had her! She totally ********' had her! This was the best! The notebook was closed when she was finished, looking more excited than she had a minute ago. "Oh, Deryk I could kiss you!" Candace threw her arms around him instead, giving him a tight hug. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou! Ugh I spent a week in that place and all I got was a name oh my goooood thank youuuuuuuu!"

Deryk's eyes widened as Candace burst with excitement. She was really looking forward to this wasn't she? Well, it was good to get some candidates down. He was going to need to try and scout out some as well. Especially since it was a part of his job as a death division guy. Whatever thoughts were going through his head ceased as she hugged him rather tightly.
Grinning when she released him, he kind of puffed up, feeling like he had done a pretty good thing.
"You're welcome! Uhh.. uh.." he was blushing still, "I-if you need anything else. Lemme know? Part of the job. Find information. Intel. Stuff like that. Y'know? "

This was the best. She had a number. She had a way to contact her wolf girl! This was great!
..How the ******** as she going to contact her. She couldn't use this phone. She'd have to ask someone about a phone for the other side but other than that this was going great now! Candace bounced on her toes with joy, grinning from ear to ear. "Oh Deryk! You're the best! Hopefully I won't need too much help. I'm a Mist, I need to do all these things.." She looked down at her notebook and squealed.
EEEEEEEEEEEEE this was so great!
Candace suddenly leaned in, her lips meeting Deryk's in a very quick little peck of a kiss before she hopped back. "Thank you again, Deryk! You just totally made my day!" Now she didn't have to storm around angrily! Yes! She could make plans!

It was definitely nice to see Candace so happy, and Deryk couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement as well.
"Alright! Glad to have helped. Hope it goes alright. If not, plenty of other students to try and take in," he nodded. The death trainee wasn't too comfortable with just.. ganking some kid and forcing them into something they didn't want. That was a bit morally iffy to him. But if they agreed and whatnot, then it was all good! In that case, it was kind of like recruiting someone for an army.
What happened next caught him off his guard. The blonde's eyes widened as he felt her lips meet his for just a split second. It was all the time needed for him to become incredibly flustered, freezing up for the moment as well. Did that just happen? Did she just kiss him? She did! He just got kissed! For a moment, he had to wonder if he had fallen asleep at some point prior to the coffee run. That was the only way this would have happened right?
Apparently not.
"Uh.. uh.. right. M-mine too," he stammered out, apparently a bit starstruck at the moment. Well, maybe a little more than just a bit.
"Have a g-good day," he blinked before sort of drifting away. What was he doing again before he ran into her? He forgot. Right now, that didn't really matter all too much either. Deryk's head might have been in the clouds right now.

And then Candace skipped happily down the hall.
Singing.
