"Stupid dragon!" Samril kicked a rock in his path and sighed. He'd been doing so well at first and now, the last two dragons he'd fought, he'd lost against and ended up running for his life. The Dovaa boy had run from this latest battle and was now making his way to the dock so he could return home to the Celestial Plane. He would return home and find someone to spar with. Perhaps that extra practice would help in battling these dragons.
He had to do something or his brothers would make all kinds of fun at him for losing to weak Ysali dragons! Never mind that his brothers had all been in his shoes at one point, but they were all older and much stronger now and were hunting down the big and strong dragons while Samril was here, in the forest, after having run away from a Ysali.
His mind mulling over these thoughts and paying little attention to his surroundings, Samril was oblivious to the fact that a Ysali was just ahead. Silly boy thought that having already fought (and lost) to one, that no more would show up at all! Oh how wrong he was!
And Samril discovered just how wrong he was as he nearly walked right into the Ysali after coming around a rather large tree. His lavender eyes opened wide in surprise and he quickly backed up, surprise taking over instead of allowing him to strike first.
It was no good, though. The dragon had spotted him. Samril found himself once again getting wrapped in vines. "Not again!" The Dovaa sighed and, now sure of what to do when entangled like this, used his magic to make the vines loosen.
He dodged the charge that the dragon was already in the middle of and ran towards its side to strike. Both front and back were not good, but there was no tail or head in the middle! Just... those big wings... and the fact that the tail and head could both reach him. As Samril was figuring this out, he was already at the dragon's side and striking. As it turned its head towards him, he ducked under its belly and came up on the other side to strike again.
As he was watching the dragon's head to make sure he could dodge a biting attack, the tail came up behind him and smacked him aside. He quickly got up, the vines near him already moving to entangle him once again. The Dovaa ran forward and tried to get another strike in on the dragon's side, but the dragon spread its wings and Samril found himself flying backwards once again. As his already sore body struck a tree, the wind was knocked out of him.
It was no good. He wasn't going to win this fight either. Samril could see that and so he struggled to his feet before he could get wrapped in vines and stumbled away as fast as he could.
His brothers were definitely not going to hear about this!
