Kavanna had made her clan decision, learned some moves, given the orbs to Marcus to show her power, and killed a dragon since her last visit to Serenia. It was almost a month before her return and her main purpose here was to visit her very best friend and confidant, Naomi.
Even through Kavanna's flaws and bad attitude, Naomi seemed to love her and adore her anyway. It wasn't long before Kav was through the portal and in Serenia, making her way up to Naomi's home.
As she did every morning, Naomi was outside plucking some of her homegrown herbs from a garden, when she caught a glance of something out of the corner of her eye. "Kavanna! Is that you!? Oh my it's been a month and I had a feeling you had completely forgotten about this old bat! Come here, child!" the Orderite said with a smile and a loving embrace.
"Yes it's me! I could never forget about you, Naomi." Kavanna replied, a smile beaming from ear to ear just at the sound of her friend's voice.
"Oh! And look at those fantastic glowing eyes you have, darling! What a beautiful shade of green! So you've chosen Ysali! You have a good head on your shoulders, that is one thing I am certain of! Please, come inside, have a cup of tea." the older Orderite said ushering the young Dovaa into her home.
When going inside the home, two Orderite girls a bit older than Kavanna were sitting at the table. One with a light purple shade of hair and the other with a strawberry blonde shade, both had sparkling gray eyes.
"So this is the girl you were telling us so much about, mother?" the older of the two girls said first.
"Pffft...She doesn't look so great..." the younger one said.
"Anna! Don't be so rude!" the older sister scolded.
"What!? She doesn't. Look at her, I'm sure she couldn't kill a dragon if she tried." Anna said.
The older sister, whose name was still unknown, just rolled her eyes and stood up from her seat, a tall slender body dressed in a light blue robe with her gray eyes and strawberry blonde hair. She held out a hand to the young Dovaa.
"I'm very sorry for my sister's horrid manners. My name is Alora. That is Anna. I'm pleased to meet you. My mother has told us so many great things about you." she said with a kind smile, just like her mother. The two shook hands.
"I'm Kavanna. Thank you for the...umm...warm welcome. And for the record, I have killed 2 dragons already." she said, smiling at Alora and the second portion, glaring at Anna.
Anna stood up from her slouching position, her bow and arrows propped up on her back. "If your puny body can overcome a dragon, prove it. Come with me and I'll see what you got. I'll find you a dragon to kill. I'm an excellent hunter." Anna said, shooting the sister as well as Kav a glare before leaving the house.
"That is Anna, the one that you reminded me of. I'm sorry, she has been in a bad mood lately. You must excuse her. Don't worry, you don't need to go with her. Just come sit and have a cup of tea." Naomi said with a smile, sighing at her daughter's actions and moving herself towards the table to have a seat.
"My mother is right. You should just let Anna cool off. She was beaten by a dragon a couple days ago and she can't let it go." Alora said, following after her mother.
"Thank you, but I'm alright. I will prove to her that I am all that you thought of me Naomi. I can do this." Kavanna said, walking out of the little cottage door to see Anna leaning up against the wall.
"About time you came out here. Now, lets get going." she said, beginning the trek into the forested wilderness of Serenia.
"I don't know what your problem with me is, but you're going to have to get over it quick. I am your mother's friend, and your sister is very kind too and I'm sure she'll be my friend in no time. But you, you're just a stubborn Orderite who lost to a dragon and can't admit defeat. Take me to a dragon and I'll kill it, get the soul, and show you what I'm capable of." Kavanna said, a snarl on her face.
Anna turned around and shot a glare at the girl, who she gave no rebuttal whatsoever.
The journey into the forest was silent. Suddenly, Anna stopped in her tracks with a waving hand. Yonder were a pair of Ysali Dragons. Both grazing on some grass and other herbs. The element of surprise was on their side, and Anna gave Kav the order to attack the right, and she would attack the left. Each would have one dragon to fight.
Anna readied and shot an arrow at the left Ysali, who startled the other and both flew into the air. A few more arrows were shot, all which were dodged.
Meanwhile, Kavanna had used her Vine Summon > Grasp to entangle the fleeing Ysali. Then she picked up some leaves off of the ground, infusing them with her magical energy, causing them to turn as sharp as glass. Kav threw them at the Ysali Dragon, severely cutting different portions of the Ysali dragon's body. Then, using that same grasp, she did a Vine Slam, slamming the Dragon to the ground with a snap of its neck and a cry of death.
Suddenly, the dragon's body was turned to bone and all was over. The soul was extracted and was found near the dragon's body. "Yes! Another win for me! I wonder how Anna is doing?" she said to herself as she collected the spoils of her journey.
Anna, was still firing arrows at her own dragon, which some hit and others totally missed. She was a fighter, never going to give up. Finally, a hit through the heart of her dragon, which fell to the ground dead. The same occurred to this dragon as it did the last. All that was left was a dragon orb and bones.
"Ha! There we are! A dragon soul! And how did you do punk?" Anna said, grabbing her own dragon soul orb and turning to Kavanna.
Kavanna smirked and held out the orb that she had won from the dragon just moments prior.
"Tch, so you're a little better than I first imagined. Big deal. Lets get home." she said, rolling her eyes as she walked passed the Dovaa and towards the house.
Kavanna, too, rolled her eyes and followed the Orderite.
Within an hour, the two were back to the kind old Orderite's abode. Anna burst through the door, a smile on her face. "Look what we have here. A little dragon hunter. We both went out, found ourselves a couple of dragons, and beat them to a pulp." Anna boasted, taking out her Ysali dragon orb and showing the two other Orderites who still sat at the table chatting.
Little Kavanna walked in after the Orderite, smiling as well. "We sure did." she said, in agreement with Anna for once. The two sure did butt heads, but that was one thing they could agree on. Taking out those dragons was something that the two were able to do quite easily and without even a scratch.
"So you were both able to kill Ysali Dragons. Very nice work you two! You deserve some supper. Let me prepare you both a bowl of soup. Please, have a seat." Naomi said smiling, getting up and slowly making her way over to the pot of bowling soup she had prepared just moments before their arrival. "Oh good, it's done! Here, I'll dish us all up a bowl! Enjoy!" she said with a chuckle.
"Well, I'm just glad neither of you were hurt at all. It can be dangerous out there with dragons and such. That's why I'd rather stay home and chat with mother. I can't stand to see all the senseless killing you guys do." Alora said with a slight roll of her eyes. She obviously wasn't too keen on the whole killing dragons for their souls deal. But, Kav didn't think Naomi was the killing type either.
"We were fine. After all, the twit had me to protect her." Anna said with a chuckle.
"Hey! I'm not a twit! And I didn't need your protection!" Kavanna howled.
"I'm sorry Kavanna, I think that's Anna's way of saying she likes you, isn't that right Anna?" Naomi inquired.
"Ehhh, she's alright. Ahahah!" Anna laughed.
Kavanna clenched her fists, but soothed them when she felt a hand upon her shoulder. "Please don't let her bother you, she likes you, she just doesn't have any nice way of saying it. It's alright though, it's like you're initiated into the family now. Hehe." Alora said with a grand smile across her face. She had the same facial expression as her mother did. The two acted just alike and Kavanna instantly liked Alora quite a bit.
After the dinner was completed and more sarcastic remarks were made by both parties, it was time for Kavanna to head back home. The girls were leaving early in the morning to meet with their younger brother and they needed to get their rest. Kavanna said her good byes and took the same boat to the Celestial Vortex as she did the first time she left Serenia.
