A faint memory from before they'd come home again nagged at Siddie, replaying itself guiltily; hissing curses and slapping a reaper boil, sourceless fury and the slow drip of inky blood mixing into a drive to attack anything nearby, acting on that drive with needle-like shards of shadow. She couldn't remember why she'd hated him in that brief, awful, hazy time, but she'd wanted to kill, and she'd tried.
It made her stomach twist uncomfortably to remember it now. Surely he wouldn't think she'd meant it? But maybe he would; they were strangers, after all, and he had no reason to think better of her. She debated nervously with herself, and decided. She'd seek him out and apologize, just to be sure he knew that she hadn't meant it.
That she hadn't been in her right mind.

Thanatos disliked having a lack of control, the feeling that his mind wasn't clear enough for him to make his own decisions - which was why he chose not to dwell on the little 'slapping' incident on the Isles, preferring to move on. In fact, he had long forgotten about it... That was, until he saw the ghoul he had exchanged blows with walking in his direction while they were on a one-way path.
Again, fate is such a funny thing.
"Hello," He greeted, stopping to grin at her, wondering if she remembered him at all, given how brief their meeting was. Biskoto just flicked her tongue out at the ghoul, wondering why she didn't smell like anything, and why that was vaguely familiar. Bowing slightly as he took her hand, his free arm tucked behind him, he chuckled, "I believe I owe you an overdue introduction? Thanatos Clothos, and Biskoto, at your service. Let's pretend this is our first meeting, shall we?"

He did remember her. Siddie brushed nervously at her skirts as he paused, smiling back a little shyly. "Hello," she answered, and breathed a little sigh of relief. He wasn't angry; he understood, or at least wanted to put the memory behind them. If that was the case, she could live with that. "Yes, a chance and friendly meeting," she agreed. "My name is Obsidian, but please, call me Siddie. I'm very pleased to meet you both." She inclined her head politely.

"Hi Ssssiddie," Biskoto repeated, smiling as widely as a snake could manage, lowering herself from Thanatos' shoulder to the ghoul's level, hissing softly in surprise when she realized that Siddie had no eyes for her to meet, "You have a very unique ssssmell, darling!" She paused, tilting her head... And looking like she wished to be petted. Or just have affection being showered on her.
One of those things.
"It's our pleasure," He leaned down to kiss her on her knuckles, seeing how he already had her hand, "Are you heading somewhere, or would you like to join me for tea at a cake shop down at Town Heights?" Straightening up, he released her hand, his grin widening ever so slightly as he waited for a reply.

"Oh, thank you! A good one, I hope," Siddie said, smiling at Biskoto; she was aware that the tea-and-vanilla scent she liked for everyday wear didn't quite cover up the faint shadow-scent of chill dark dusty places, but Sammy, at least, didn't seem to mind. "Your pattern is lovely," she said to the familiar.
He cheeks flushed a faint purple when Thanatos kissed her hand, but her smile widened. "Such a gentleman," she answered. "It would be my pleasure to accompany you; my afternoon is free." When he released her hand, she lifted it towards Biskoto, stopping just short of touching the snake. "May I?" she asked, her eyes flicking from Thanatos to Biskoto, asking both of them.

"It issss!" She nodded before bashfully looking away, her tail moving to wave up and down in an almost dismissive manner; if snakes could blush, she would probably be blushing right now, "Oh, you're too kind, darling! Thank you!" She was not-so-secretly pleased though, judging from her excited series of hisses.
The familiar's answer to Siddie's question, was to press her head against her hand, nudging it gently. Thanatos just chuckled, "There's your answer... Now, shall we? It's just a 10 minute walk to the shop, not a very long walk." He offered her his arm to take, still grinning away, "Since I am a believer of fate, and you did mention that this is a chance meeting, it shall be my treat today."

"Fate is a kind mistress today." Siddie giggled and stroked along the line of Biskoto's body. "Oh, I thought those were feathers! But they're smooth."
She rested a hand delicately on the arm offered to her, giving Thanatos a sweet smile. "Lead on, good sir," she said. "Far be it from me to refuse such a kindly offer."

"Indeed... And fate is rarely kind," He chuckled softly, leading the way once Siddie looked like she was ready to go, "Do you enjoy sweets? Or are you just humoring my request for a tea date?"
Biskoto hissed softly, almost like she was giggling, "Ssssnakess are known for being ssssmooth despite how we look, darling! Even sssnakesss like me! Ohh, they do look like featherssss, don't they?" She had turned around to look at herself in mid fascination before smiling happily at the petting, moving to gently nuzzling Siddie on her cheek, as if returning the gesture, "The ghoulssss of thissss ssschool are sssso kind, and ssssweet... It'ssss lovely!"

"Oh, I do like sweets," Siddie answered. "Sometimes I even bake. Spookies, or trifles if I'm feeling particularly ambitious." She giggled a little. "Have you a favorite?"
She tilted her head so Biskoto could rub against her cheek, obligingly keeping up the petting. "I'm not as warm as most snakes would like, I'm afraid," she said apologetically. "Darkblooded rather than warmblooded."

"Oh? You bake?" He paused, recalling a conversation he had with Xiu a long time ago, when he was still new to Amityville, "Are you part of the school's baking club, by any chance? And no, I don't believe I have a favorite... I'm not particularly picky as long as it's well-made, and not sickening sweet." If they were, he might as well eat a packet of sugar - less agonizing that way.
Biskoto stopped with the nuzzling to tilt her head, looking at Siddie, "Darkblooded? What doesss darkblooded mean? And don't worry, darling! Thanatossss is warm enough for the both of ussss!"

"Baking club? I didn't know there was a baking club. I'll have to go find out if they're taking new members," Siddie said. "I need a new club to join." Because Fitness Club was - indefinitely suspended? No. It was over, because Riley was -
- no no no don't think about it -
"Do you know anything about the baking club?" she asked brightly, keeping her smile pasted on.
"I'm made of shadow," she explained to Biskoto. "So instead of blood, I have dark in my veins. And dark isn't really cold, not always, but it's always a little cooler than the light."

"I ran into the ghoul who was a part of the club, and she recruited me into the club as taster. I'm wondering if I should start regretting my decision now, seeing how I might end up with something burnt - or worse - on my plate," He laughed, remembering how that meeting went, "I believe her name is Xiu."
The snake hissed, tilting her head slightly as she listened to Siddie's explanation, "I've never met sssssomeone with dark in their veinsss before... Or light for that matter!" She nodded, "I know a familiar made of ink though! He explodessss into ink if you apply too much pressssure on him."

"Oh, I hope not. I know I'd never serve something burnt if it wasn't a dish meant to be burnt," Siddie said, shaking her head. "A good cook doesn't send bad food to the table." She smiled. "Xiu? I'll see if I can find her. I'd like to know more."
"Ink?" she giggled. "Whose familiar is that? He sounds messy."

"I hope the members of that club have as much common sense as you then," He grinned, "If you do join the club, I look forward to tasting your concoctions... Whenever they hold the first meeting." Despite how excited and eager Xiu was about the club, it hadn't been that active - then again, things had happened pretty recently, so maybe inactivity is to be expected.
"Hisss name is Sssharpie!" She replied cheerfully, more than happy to talk about her friend, especially since he was a fellow familiar, "He isss a cat who belongsss to a Pyromancer named Falsssse!"
Town Heights soon came into view, and with that, an increased number of vehicles and pedestrians.

"Perhaps now that things have quieted down, more clubs will be holding meetings," Siddie offered. "I wonder if the baking club holds afternoon tea," she mused. "It's been quite some time since I've attended a tea ... "
"I've always wondered what it's like to have a familiar," she confided in a soft voice to Biskoto. "My Clove goes with me everywhere, but it's only a mini. I love it very much, though."
She walked a little closer to Thanatos in the higher density of population, half-consciously; still, she didn't seem intimidated by it. She carried herself perhaps a little more proudly, her back straight, her chin held high.
