Girafarig wondered if it was a mistake to invite Derp over her place. Nice gladiers would say she was a wanderer, while mean ones would say she was homeless. The truth was that she considered the entire glade her home.
Now, she was bent over in the middle of a meadow. She pulled up wet grass and ate it. "Delicious!" She was giddy. "It really does taste best right after a rain shower!"
Her cart was behind her. She didn't think she'd get very many customers now. It was best to get them right when they first got lost. They were always willing to give away anything when they were like that. Still, she thought it'd be best to keep it with her just in case.

Derp had been wandering around Catalia for a short while now. He wasn't sure what part of the glade he was supposed to go to, and he had always been talented at getting lost.
Finally, he came across some Circini - most likely other residents of the glade. "Girafarig where?" he asked frantically. "Derp think Derp lost!" She was his only friend and he didn't want to keep her waiting. It wasn't nice to make a lady wait after all. And Girafarig was a lady, right? After giving him some weird stares, the small group of bigger gladiers pointed him towards the nearby meadow. They most likely thought he was either crazy or incredibly dumb. A dorky smile then spread on the Spica's face, he thanked his helpers and with his little wings fluttering, started trotting in the direction of the meadow.
A few moments later, he indeed spotted a familiar cart loaded with maps. "Girafarig!" he called out happily, "Derp found Girafarig!"

Girafarig quit eating and looked up when she heard Derp call her name. "Derp!" She ran towards him. If this were a movie, there would be sunset and Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet would play in the background. In reality, it was gray and quiet.
When she got close, she stopped and slid across the wet ground before slowing to a stop. "It's good to see you again. How are you liking things, so far? I'm guessing you were able to find everything okay?"

Derp gave Girafarig a goofy smile, glad that he'd managed to find his friend. He'd missed her, it had been a little while since they'd last seen each other.
"Derp did alright.. Girafarig home very different from Derp home. It kind of nice though", he said, his wings fluttering a little. His fur was still a little wet from wandering in the rain, as were his wings. But since it was warm it didn't bother him too much.
"How Girafarig been? What does Girafarig want to do today?" he asked her, his face glowing with childish excitement.

Girafarig wasn't surprised to hear Derp thought it was so different. "I'm glad you like it. What is your home like, anyway? She thought she could come and visit another day.
She immediately said. "I've been good." Afterward, she remembered she hadn't seen either of her brothers since the last time she had been to Wysteria Forest. Was is bad not to be worried? "How about yourself?"
"I know a place where there's a great view on days like this. We could walk there. How does that sound?" She turned around, put her paw on her cart, and sternly said, "You there, be a good little cart and stay here. I'll be back later."

The pink Spica pondered his response for a moment. "Derp home have a lot trees and bushes", he finally stated. "And sometimes lots snow. Snow cold but really pretty. Not very tasty though, no." He shook his head a little, like this was a very serious matter and he was sparing Girafarig from a huge disappointment.
He smiled widely at his friend again. "Derp very glad Girafarig good! Derp okay too, miss Girafarig sometimes. Should visit more often maybe", he said sheepishly, genuinely having grown fond of the female already. She didn't get mad at him, or laugh at him for his peculiar way of talking.
"Derp love walking and seeing pretty place!" he then claimed excitedly. "Though sometimes Derp fly instead walk", he continued, his little wings fluttering somewhat, his face beaming. He then turned to her cart as well with a stern look, shaking his paw very slightly like at a child. "Cart be good! Girafarig lead way, yes?" he even bounced up and down a little now, full of energy and excitement.

"Thank you. I'll be sure to remember that." Girafarig knew exactly what Derp meant about the snow. It looked like it would taste like a dessert. It really tasted...like something else. The memory made her shiver.
When she heard what he said next, she wagged her tail happily. "Seeing you more would be great. I could come visit you sometimes too." His home sounded like it was up north to her. She plotted it on her mental map to reference later.
After she heard him talk about flying, she squealed and said, "So cool!" She found herself using that word a lot about him. He could do a lot of things she couldn't, like transform and fly. In comparison, she was rather plain, but she didn't mind that. "You can fly right now if you want. I won't lose you. I'll have my eyes on you." Then, she gestured by first pointing to her eyes and then at him.
"Yes, of course! Follow me." After that, she ran ahead. She took care to look behind herself every now and then to make sure he was right behind her.
The place she had in mind was a hill a little while from here. She found it completely by accident, while looking for a place to take shelter at during a thunderstorm. Back then, she had been looking for a cave, an animal's abandoned hole, or something. She definitely didn't want to go under a tree, because she heard she they attracted lightning. Eventually, she ended up on top of the hill. She did not remember how exactly she got there. Her fur had grass stains on it, so she figured she must have crawled up it. She also knew she must have been searching for a while, because she was soaking wet. After that, she cursed the world and everything in it - which, of course, included herself. She only stopped when she saw the view. The rain had stopped and gray and white clouds gathered overhead. They were so thick that even though it was the middle of the day, it looked like the dead of night. Then, the winds shifted and sunlight shone through the clouds. She took it all back after that. At least, she tried to. She wasn't sure if you could really take back everything you said, even if you didn't mean it.
Now, she wondered how that hill would look today.

Derp's smile nearly reached from ear to ear. Girafarig was so kind and much more intelligent and organized than he was, at least in his eyes. He was aware that he was a tad simple, himself, but he really appreciated that Girafarig did not think any less of him for that.
"Derp would like Girafarig come visit, Derp not good guide though. But getting lost not so bad when not alone", he said sheepishly. "Girafarig so good at finding way, Derp not good at all", he continued, with genuine admiration in his voice.
Since Girafarig said she was okay with it, he decided to hover just a little bit above the ground, his little wings flapping steadily. He followed close behind her, excited to see more of her home glade. "Even cloudy day feel nice when Derp with Girafarig", he stated happily as they headed away from the meadow.
