The training session had been pushed back due to things come up, but one morning, Shun was out in the reaper gardens, ready to work with Hel on parkour. He had been doing a bit of training on his own prior, and progress had been going.. decently he supposed. He had definitely fallen and missed his marks more than he would have liked. This was for both jumping around and for his shadowstepping.
Letting out a breath, he climbed up onto one of the brick walls of the garden, perching himself there as he waited for the Valkyrie to arrive.
It was time to teach her how to 'fly' on the ground.

Hel was okay with this special training session getting pushed back for once…since a lot of interesting things had indeed happened that the valkyrie was certainly going to harass Shun about.
Until then though, she had been prepping. With something to work towards, the valkyrie found herself getting focused again and training harder, if not harder, than she usually did. She did her jogs around the school, stretched, shadow boxed and basically anything else that would help. So one morning, it shouldn’t have been a surprise to see Hel leap out one of the open second story windows of the reaper dorms. She seemed wide eyed and enthused as she fell through the air, looking to land on the brick wall of the reapers dorm gardens, and she did. Hel jostled as her boots connected with the top of the brick wall, though her landing wasn’t steady at all, and the ghoul wavered back and forth heavily, arms flailing while she stared at Shun wide eyed. Unfortuantely, the ghoul happened to lean too far to one side…and off the brick wall she went.
“OOF!” The ghoul cried as she landed in crumpled heap in some bushes, looking up at the grim with twigs and leaves in her hair now. “…So.” She started. “You can also teach me how to roll safely on the ground from a tall height, ya?”

It seemed that Hel was already trying to get a bit of practice, seeing how she had thrown herself out the window like that. However, it didn't go quite as planned, as Shun now saw himself staring at the fallen valkyrie. Raising an eyebrow, he nodded to her.
"Yes. That I shall. I suppose we should work on how to roll first and foremost," he said as he launched himself off the wall to roll to the ground as a quick demonstration. For this it was best to practice at ground level first and fore most.
Walking over to Hel, he reached down to help her up.
"Basically you use your arms to guide the roll. Your head and neck should not touch the ground," he informed as he showed a few of the motions while standing up straight. He was getting right to business here. Crouching down, he showed how to plant ones hands upon impact before rolling, using his arm and shoulder to contact the ground.

“Sounds good.” Hel agreed, staying where she was in the bushes for the time being, watching as Shun did managed a great roll from the wall. Yeah…she needed to do that! Hel had a feeling she’d never stop leaping from high placed…with or without wings.
She grinned a bit as the grim helped her up, and she firmly took his arm and with his help climbed out. “Much obliged.” She replied, and rested her hands on her hips as she observed. Hel was more than fine with getting down to business…if she wanted to chit chat at the reaper, she could do that while training. That was one of the awesome things about Shun. She ended up crouching as well when he did, watching him as he rolled using his arms to guide him. “…So…just by doing that…one could fall from…say…” She looked at the top of the reaper dorms. “That height even, right?” She pointed at the roof.

"Yes. Though, when going from a height that great, land with your toes first and carry your momentum forward into the roll. Basically transfer the energy of the landing," Shun said. To demonstrate this, he quickly climbed up the brick wall and jumped forward, this time landing with his feet prior to going into the roll.
"I suggest mastering the roll before attempting anything more extreme," he said while giving her a sidewards glance.
"Learning how to fall properly is key to reducing chance of injury."

Hel stayed kneeling on the ground as she watched Shun demonstrate another roll, this time using his toes as part of the demonstration. Seemed easy enough! “Ah…got ya…” Hel had a feeling she’d want to jump from even taller heights then the roof…
She stared up at it thoughtfully. If only she had something like…a parachute to carry around. That thought made her snort to herself in amusement…but at the same time, it didn’t seem like a bad idea. Once Shun as back on the ground with her, Hel stood, and raised her arms above her head. “Heh. Never had to worry about falling properly before…funny how things change.” She grinned a bit, and then rolled forward, putting her arms out first as she rolled. Maybe having wings did serve some use for rolling now. Hel never wanted to roll directly on her back, in fear she might injure her wings…so it was pretty natural to use her arms to keep her head, neck and shoulders from hitting the ground.

Crouching now, Shun watched as Hel went on to perform the roll, doing rather well for the starting point.
"Yes. Like that. Do it a couple more times and then we'll go into it while moving. A dive roll essentially," he said. Work from the ground up.
"There's a lot of falling that happens with parkour. Whether it's intentional or if it's an accident."

Hel grinned as she pushed herself back up to her feet out of the roll. “A few more times? Got it.” The ghoul went about rolling around the garden a few more times, making sure to not roll into any of the planting Mac had done…despite how tempting it was to do so.
Coming out of another roll, Hel paused and looked over at Shun. Falling, whether it was intentional or not. Heh…
Hel didn’t think so much about falling when she had wings…it was simply a non-existent worry…but now…now it was very much a concern…a worry. Hel was actually concerned to see how much distance was between her and her target…but there was a desire and an urge to overcome this hesitation about falling. This training with Shun would definitely help. Nodding her head to herself, she looked over at Shun. “Ready.”

Watching, Shun nodded as Hel had the basics down correctly. Once she was ready, he went on and first demonstrated the dive roll. There was no running start this time. He simple went into it from where he was standing. The Reaper dove forth, then again, used his hands and arms to guide his fall, distributing the force of the landing. At least for this sort of thing, having the one eye was not an issue. It was partially reflex and muscle memory for him regarding this.
"It's the same idea. But now you've got more momentum behind you."
Getting up, he went on and did it.. three times in a row. Basically the moment he rolled to his feet, he dove forth once more.

Ooh…okay! Not bad. This seemed more than alright with Hel as well.
“Understood!” The reaper nodded her head, and then watched as he went into a roll three times. Once it was her turn, Hel did a one dive roll first, and once she felt that it was acceptable, she moved down a bit in the garden. This way she had a long path to roll without hitting anything. She took a deep breath, and then lunged into her first roll, coming out of it and then lunging into another one and then another. Coming out of the last roll, Hel stumbled on her feet, reaching out to catch herself on a tree before she looked back at Shun.
“…Bah. For the most part, though…?”

Shun stood by with his hands in his pockets, watching Hel do her rolls. She didn't do too bad, though her final one was a rather sloppy attempt, seeing how she stumbled.
"Not bad. Do another. Do not go straight into another roll. Basically, practice rolling into a standing position," he instructed. That might be the problem area for her, rather than the roll itself.

“Alright…”
Hel spun on her heel so that another long stretch of grass was before her, not that she needed it, but it was a good thought.
The ghoul paused for a moment before she lunged forward into another roll, and she tried to come to a stop coming out of it, but ended up stumbling forward again. She scowled as she finally caught herself once more. “…I am was used to having a counter-balance if you know what I mean, friend.” Her wings were there to stop her if she ever happened to go too far forward.

"I figured as much," Shun said as he watched her stumble once more. He soon fell silent as he tried to think of a way to help her with that, but right now the only thing he could think of was to continue trying until she got it down.
"Keep doing it. Until you get it right."
And so that was what he advised.
((Roll 10d20. 15 or greater = no stumbling per dice.))

It was pretty sound advice, no matter how simple or lack luster it was.
Hel couldn’t disagree!
With a nod, the valkyrie got back to rolling…and of course, ended up stumbling again. With a scowl, the ghoul righted herself and then went back to rolling again. She didn’t care how many times she ended up trying. She’d stop when Shun told her too.

The reaper took a deep breath and seemed rather focused now. Hel was never one to shy away from hard work…but she wouldn’t lie. Adjusting everything about her fighting style to her skills sucked. Still, being idle of course wouldn’t fix it. The ghoul lunged into a roll, quite expecting to come out of it stumbling, but instead, managed to come out of it into a stand. Her knees had locked, so her stop was awkward, but the point was…she didn’t stumble. She blinked, rather surprised at this, and immediately felt the surge of confidence through her. She could do this. Thus, the reaper set to rolling around the reaper gardens, and out of the nine rolls she happened to do now, she had only stumbled on two of them. Hel came out of her last roll, for lack of a better words, rock solid. After that exertion though, she was breathing a bit heavily, holding her hands out a bit in front of her in awe. Did she really just nail nearly all of those rolls?
