THE WEEPING FOREST

The Weeping Forest:

- Roll a 100-sided dice each time you post. Match your dice roll to the results below as to what you find. Make sure to RP out the post. You can work with someone else as well, so each of you can obtain max 10/15 items (depending on your job class)
- You can only rp here with other Lost Clans members. This will still take place in the MAIN section of the guild where all the rp goes however!
- Occasionally you will hear ??? noises. It seems minipets are pretty common in the area! You can summon any minipets your horsemen has carried with them/ found/ etc etc (or even found in the forest, as it is abundant with minis) to help you around in this area/ look for supplies/ etc etc. Unlike students, Lost Clans members use minis as tiny workers, and will only summon them as necessary and less so of a vanity item.
- Once you are done, don't forget to claim points here

- 1- 10: Thick branches
- 11- 20: Wispy leaves (easily flammable)
- 21- 30: Large hollow tree (dead)
- 31 - 40: Tree bark
- 41 - 50: Sticky tree sap
- 51 - 60: Bones from dead minipets
- 61 - 70: Dry moss
- 71 - 80: Pine needles
- 81 - 90: Large slab of stone
- 91 - 100: Simple clay

Here she was, in the forest again. It was both painful and reassuring for Jay to explore the Weeping Forest. The trees were not quite the same from the ones back home. Together, the trees did not quite form the jungle terrain she was so used to wandering through. Still, the smell of leaves and flowers and the sounds of creatures scurrying throughout were comfortable, familiar. She found herself high up in the treetops and shielded by the canopy. Jay held out a palm to musingly admire the leaf-shaped shadows that danced across her hand before leaning over ever so slightly to stare at the forest floor, a steep drop from where she was now. Her mouth stretched into a grin before she jumped off the branch, creaking and shaking with leaves as she plummeted, but Jay wasn’t worried.

She unfurled her bright blue wings. The war horsewoman had done this plenty of times back home. Once the ground neared she would pull up suddenly. A quick, cheap thrill for when she was bored. Jay flung out her arms and let out a whoop. “WOOHOO!”

It was unfortunate she did not calculate chances of a seemingly sudden entrance of someone else.

He looked ridiculous.

Not that Zhi particularly cared, mind you. He was used to being stared at, though for once, there was no one around to point and laugh at his stupid predicament. While the horseman was not opposed to coming out here and gathering materials, he just wished that "out here" didn't have so many shrubs. Or to be more specific, the branches protruding out of these shrubs.

The first few steps into the forest had proven difficult indeed. If he wasn't tripping over his own sleeves, he was getting them caught on the pointy branches. In the end, he had settled for holding his arms over his head to keep his sleeves from dragging over the forest floor. Unfortunately, this also meant that he had left his chest and stomach wide open for any sudden attacks to his person. Of course, the chance of that happening out here, in the peace of the forest, was--

"OOF."

He didn't even get the chance to try catching his balance--the force was enough to send Zhi toppling over, all 6'0" of him. As he lay on the ground, he let out a pained groan, vaguely aware of the fact that something--or someone--was on top of him. Instead of greeting said stranger, however, the only thing he muttered was a worried sounding, "Is my...is my fluffy thing...still fluffy?"

What were the chances of meeting someone else in the Weeping Forest? Jay didn’t know, but she imagined they were pretty slim, so hopefully no one would give her pointed stares for not looking before falling. But even if she had noticed Zhi, it probably would not have done her much good. By the time she would have noticed it would have been too late. She was looking for a thrill and that meant pushing the boundaries.

Even if it meant falling flat on your face or accidental dissipation.

Maybe if the soldier had been wearing more conspicuous colors she might have seen him, but no. He was wearing green and had dark hair and admittedly enough the spot of white that was his fluffy collar might have caught her attention but—

“WOOOO—AGHAKLFDS!!!”

Jay suddenly wished she had pulled the brakes sooner, but at least she had this nice soft body to cushion her landing with. A quiet whine quite like a puppy sputtered out of her mouth as she lifted her head. The horsewoman was cross-eyed. She managed to bring up a hand to steady her bobbing head. “When’d the world get so spinny?” she mused. Jay began to push herself up into a sitting position, but then she realized she was not touching the hard ground. It was actually quite soft and fluffy in certain parts—oh.

Hmm. Oh.

She leaned over to bury her face into the fluffy thing, her aching wings stretching out to cover them both. “Yes. It’s still very fluffy.”

"Oh, good," was all that Zhi said.

And then he flopped down, his face planting into the ground. How was he breathing? That was a good question. Whatever the case, he was probably still alive, as he began to flail a little after a few seconds passed in silence. While the figure lying on top of him was not all that heavy, even Zhi wouldn't throw someone off of him if it risked hurting them.

Unless they were a hunter...but hunters didn't have wings. Probably, anyways.

When he didn't feel any indication that the stranger was going to get off, he awkwardly reached back with one of his arms and poked her once in (what was hopefully) the side, paused, and then repeated the action. After taking a moment to gauge her reaction, he reached back with both arms and proceeded to tickle her. Or at least, he proceeded to try--for all he knew, he was poking at her arms rather than her sides.

Despite the fact he was trying to get her off, his voice was quite friendly as he turned his head to the side and chirped, "The fluffy thing is comfortable, isn't it?" It was always nice to meet someone who appreciated his fluffy thing.

“Yes. Very good.” She was still absentmindedly burying her face in the fluffy piece of clothing. It was clothing, right? Surprisingly, the stranger had yet to fling tiny Jay off of him, which only worked in her favor. It allowed her to cuddle with the other even more. It was almost like a breath of fresh air. Jay couldn’t bring herself to cuddle with horseman from another clan out of nowhere and Senga and Iyari could only take her cuddle antics for long. Then again, she was cuddling a strange horseman right now and it didn’t bother her at all. The fluffy piece must’ve been too compelling for her to ignore.

Then there was a poke in her side. She quickly shrunk away from the touch, a mousey squeak escaping her lips, but Jay continued to cling to the fluff anyways. When the poke came a second time she let out the same squeak and peered at Zhi from behind the fur. Maybe he could have imagined a pouty frown behind the fluff.

And then came the tickling. She fell into peals of laughter because really, she was super ticklish. Jay gripped the fluff even tighter. Maybe she was even beginning to slowly choke Zhi on accident. “Ye—HAHAHAHA—Yes! Ve—HAHAHAHAHA—ry comfort—HAHAHA—table!”

Finally, someone who actually appreciated his fluffy thing rather than poked fun at it! Even while he was in the midst of tickling the stranger, all he could think was how they had to talk once they were both back up on their feet. Jay's fur cuddling had managed to set a good first impression.

...Because that was how Zhi prioritized things. Appreciation of his fluffy accessory > the fact he had been crashed into and winded.

Unfortunately, even the cheerful horseman had to protest a little when he was suddenly made aware of the fact that he was being choked. It was obviously not intentional--and it was mostly his fault, considering how he was still tickling her--but that didn't stop Zhi from flailing on the ground like a fish out of water. When he finally realized that his tickling was probably the cause for it, he suddenly stopped, and his arms joining in on the flailing.

"Just..." Cough. He strained to get his voice out. "Just a little...too tight...there..."

If she knew, Jay would have agreed with Zhi’s sound logic. Obviously appreciation of fluffy things was more important than another horseman falling on you.

Unfortunately, the tickling rendered Jay unable to realize she was choking the poor Conquest horseman. It was only when the tickling stopped and she heard his voice again, Jay blinked curiously. “Hm? Oh. Oh! Oopsies.” She laughed awkwardly while loosening her hold on him. The horsewoman tugged at her bandana. “Sorry about falling on you and all. I didn’t think you’d show up while I was uh, falling.” She was still sitting on him, but then Jay finally got up and offered Zhi a hand. “I’m Jay, by the way.”

Her gaze peered behind Zhi and noticed a very nice, large slab of stone.

She was suddenly reminded of the fact that the clans still required materials to scavenge. Jay seemed disappointed at the thought, but maybe they could finally fluffy things.

The thought made her feel much better.

The minute her hold loosened, Zhi sucked in breaths of much-needed air as he rubbed at his neck with one of his hands. Who knew that his fluffy thing could be so deadly? Not that this incident was enough to deter him from wearing it--between the potential of being choked to death and not wearing his fluffy thing at all, the former was definitely the lesser of two evils.

Again, Zhi's priorities may have been a little mixed up. Just a little.

He took Jay's offered hand and hefted himself up, only to stumble when his excessively long sleeve got caught beneath his foot. Somehow--somehow--even as he was falling forward, the horseman managed to catch himself right before he could bring both Jay and himself back down onto the ground. Freeing his sleeve, he shot it a glare before...flapping it rather wildly to the side. Apparently he was trying to get all the dust and dirt off of it. Or...or was he trying to wave?

...It is a mystery.

"Nice to meet you, Jay! I'm Zhiqiang, but uhhh...just Zhi is fine, I guess!" He wasn't sure if it applied to Jay, but he had noticed that non-Conquest horseman sometimes seemed to have trouble pronouncing names of Conquest clansmen. Might as well avoid that problem altogether by shortening his name to something a little easier to swallow, yeah? "Uh, so! What are you doing out here--"

He cut himself off when he felt his sleeve--the one he was still flailing around--whip into a nearby tree. Apparently the bark from this tree had been in the process of rotting off, as a piece fell down neatly into the grass at the base of the trunk. Zhi stared at it for a moment, and then threw up both of his arms in glee.

"Something to bring back from my scavenging!" He beamed brightly, moving forward to pick up the piece of tree back up and turn it over in his hands. He sounded a little disappointed as he ran his fingers over the rough object. "I mean, it's not fluffy, but I guess it can be used for something."

Zhi was heavy, but this was a skewed perception on Jay’s part. She was a tiny war horsewoman. He was a tall horseman from Conquest. Jay had to crane her head to look him in the eye. Was it her or was he nearly a foot taller than her? Suddenly, she was feeling much smaller than she normally did. But the feeling of insecurity blew away when he stumbled on his clothes. She giggled. Pointing to the sleeves, Jay noted, “Maybe you should get them shortened.” It was brief moments like these she was glad she was in war. They valued easy-to-move-in clothes. Tripping on her clothes was unfathomable to her.

Smiling, she cocked her head at Zhi while she examined the gesture. Jay couldn’t tell whether he was getting dirt off or waving. She decided to slowly and curiously wave anyways.

“Zhi.” Her expression was blank as she stared at him for a few seconds. Then Jay suddenly smiled brightly. “Okay, ZhiZhi!” Had she just made up her own nickname to use?

If Zhi had finished his question, Jay might have answered it, but instead his sleeve whacked a tree. She snerked. Then she laughed.

“Oh, so you’re scavenging? I’ve scavenged already, but a little bit more could never hurt!” She nodded her head in agreement. “True! Oh hey, some moss! Moss is so sort of fluffy in a way, right?” Jay walked over to grab clumps of moss and rubbed it against her face. She frowned. “But it’s not the same.”

Zhi sighed at the mention of getting his sleeves shortened. Yes, they did prove to be quite the safety hazard for...well, every single day. The horseman apparently could not go a day--or even a few hours--without either tripping over them, getting caught on them, or whipping someone across the face with them.

Of course, in certain cases, it was rather questionable whether the last one could be considered an "accident".

"Maybe I can just...temporarily get them out of the way or something?" He suggested, humming thoughtfully. Grabbing the ends of his sleeves, he proceeded to tie them up without really thinking this plan through first. Soon enough, his sleeves were were no longer dragging over the ground, tied up in a neat bow. It looked kind of ridiculous, but the most concerning part of all this was the fact that his arms were now tethered together within a certain distance. Hopefully that wouldn't come back to bite him in the butt.

He didn't seem particularly bothered by the sudden nickname. In fact, if anything, his grin seemed to broaden at it. After a moment of thought, he pointed to Jay (with both hands, since pulling up one inevitably drew up the other now). "Does that mean I can call you JayJay?" Hey, matching nicknames were cool, right? Right?

"Moss is nice, but it's not as fluffy as my fluffy thing, right?" He reached back to grab the fluff and leaned down, tickling Jay's face with the soft object. "See, see? I wonder if we can find anything out here that will match this in fluffiness?"

Probably not, but that wasn't going to stop him. Of course, when a quick look around yielding no fluffy things, Zhi was forced to find something else to scavenge for, like...a tree branch, maybe? There were plenty of branches scattered over the forest floor, but no, Zhi didn't want any of those. He wanted that nice, sturdy one that was still attached to the tree. And so, like any wonderful, responsible horseman, he used his newly tied sleeves as a way to hoist himself up onto the branch, hang off of it and pull it down with his weight until...

With a snap, the branch--and Zhi--were sent falling to the forest floor.

“Hm?” Jay watched Zhi with a thoughtful expression. Get them out of the way? How? By tying them togeth—Her eyes widened when the conquest horseman did just that, except the knot was far from what she imagined. It was a bow that connected both sleeves together. Her jaw dropped. “Your sleeves…”She lifted a hand to vaguely point at Zhi’s clothes while her voice trailed off. It appeared the warrior was in a minor state of shock. “Did you just…” Her voice drifted off a second time, leading into a few seconds of silence that preceded her wild fits of laughter. “OH MY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Both arms clutched her stomach as she threw her head back. “Z—hehehe—ZhiZhi! W-Why would you do that? HAHAHA!”

He pointed both arms at her, offering Jay an opportunity to examine the bow up close. She shuffled over to Zhi and tugged at one of the bow’s ears. Her eyes sparkled when she raised her gaze to meet Zhi’s. A-A nickname?! For her??? Jay clasped her hands together and nearly held her breath. “Would you really call me JayJay?” There weren’t a lot of horsemen that gave Jay a nickname even though she gave nicknames out like free candy. It was disheartening, to say the least. She was so overcome with joy she might have grabbed Zhi’s face with her tiny hands—this was accomplished by flapping her wings a couple times!—and planted a kiss on his forehead (or on the lips if you like it like that O_O).

“This is true. This is very true!” she admitted as she rubbed her face into the fluffy thing. “Unless we find a very furry minipet we can shave, I don’t think we can find anything as fluffy as this, but we can certainly try!”

She took a few steps back to allow Zhi a better view of the forest. Eventually he went over to a tree with the intention of getting some branches (from what she could gauge anyway) but the attempt was a failure.

The horsewoman was on the floor with Zhi, rolling around as she burst out with laughter. Loose blue jay feathers were flying everywhere before she hobbled to her feet and broke off a few more branches to the collection. “You sure you want to keep the sleeves tied up like that? I know some better knots if you want. I can do an Angler’s knot or bait loop or cow hitch or grief knot or…”

Zhi seemed puzzled when Jay suddenly burst out into laughter, his expression blank as he cocked his head to the side. He looked between his sleeves, to Jay, and then back. Hmmm, was tying up his sleeves really so strange? He had thought that it was quite the ingenious idea himself, but then again, if he were to consider the situation a little more carefully...

...Well, that wouldn't happen, because clearly Zhi never considered anything very carefully.

He was a little surprised to see how excited Jay was when he bestowed the nickname upon her, but her excitement was contagious. He threw his tied arms up in the air and beamed down at the war horsewoman. "Yes! From this day forth, I am Zhizhi, and you are Jayjay-- And then he froze, his expression becoming blank once again when he suddenly received a kiss. Though it was just a peck, it was enough to break the conquest horseman for a good few seconds or so. He stared down at Jay with his mouth agape...and then once that passed, he had returned to his usual self, all smiles and laughter.

"Haha, is that what you war horseman do when you're happy?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. Leaning down, he returned the favour with a quick peck of his own. When he straightened up, he was beaming at her expectantly. "How was that? Did I do it right?" If Zhi had a tail, it would have been wagging a mile a minute right now.

Alas, it seemed as if Jay was right about the lack of fluffy things. Zhi definitely wouldn't give up trying to find something fluffy to collect, but thus far, all they had found were...well, things one would expect to find in a forest. As magically stumbling over piles of fur seemed unlikely, the only other option was to go after any wild minis, which was...ergh.

At the offer of retying his sleeves, Zhi immediately held his arms out to her. "Uhhhhh anything is fine!" He took a step towards her, only to hear a squish beneath his foot. Slowly--and almost warily--he looked down, only the realize that he had simply stepped on some clay. There was a pause, and then he looked back up at Jay. "Think I can collect that too?"

Initially, the fact that she probably shouldn’t have pecked Zhi on the lips hadn’t registered her mind. She had been too busy bursting at the seams with hyperbubblygiggly happiness to remember that most people did not kiss other people they were friends with, much less someone they had just met for the first time. Jay leaned back, tilting her head to the side when she noticed the surprise on his face. Realization sparked when she remembered most people didn’t appreciate a kiss on the lips unless it was from that supposed special someone (Jay still couldn’t quite wrap her head around that concept). For less than a second, the horsewoman appeared worried. Kissing was a no-no, right? Would he be angry? But the worry melted away when he burst out into more smiles and laughter.

Her giggles mixed with his as she flapped her wings a couple times before tightly wrapping his arms around his neck. She shamelessly seized the chance to bury her face into his fluffy thing again. “No, just me! But Senga says I shouldn’t do it, so I try not to. And usually I’m very good about it! Except now.” Oopsies. “Mm?” The horsewoman stiffened when she felt something brush against her lips and it took her a second to realize Zhi had just mimicked her own actions moments prior. Wide eyes and a matching beam stared at Zhi. “Super awesome! Super right!” She held back laughter so she could press kiss to his cheek before letting go of his neck and jumping back down.

“Okay! So, um…” The war horsewoman hesitated while she ran through the list of knots she knew. They were all too fanciful for the moment, so she just tied more bows, one for each sleeve. “Bows are very pretty anyways!” She nodded her head as she took a step back. “Ah.” Jay followed his gaze. “Oooh it’s clay.” She bent down to run a pair of fingers through the puddle of clay. Her eyes twinkled at the idea of making clay beads—errrr clay pots for the….clans…yes. “I think that sounds like an awesome idea.” There was no hesitation as she scooped up the clay. She cocked her head when she noticed clumps of moss within the mound of clay as well. Hmm. “But where should we put all of this stuff?”

My this strange lips-to-lips or lips-to-cheek greeting thing sure was unusual! Zhiqiang could not claim that it was entirely unpleasant--because really, it was just an innocent gesture, right?--but it certainly was interesting! And...apparently it was not something that everyone usually did, but only Jay? He rubbed his chin thoughtfully at her explanation--particularly the part about how Senga advised her against it--and then he grinned and shrugged. "I think it's interesting, and that you should continue to do it!" He declared, unintentionally trying to shadow Senga's sane and proper advise to the war horsewoman, "I believe I will start to do it now too!"

Oooh boy. Watch out, everyone.

He stood patiently as Jay fiddled with his sleeves, lifting his arms to examine them once she was done. A few seconds ticked by in silence, and then he threw his arms around the horsewoman in a hug, beaming brightly. "Thank you, that is much better! And yes indeed, bows are very attractive! How do I look?"

He held his arms over his head in typical creeper fashion, which was apparently...the pose he was trying to strike to show off his sleeves? He did eventually lower them, but only at the ghoul's question. Yes, that was...a good question. How were they supposed to carry all this stuff? It would be difficult for his new friend to collect anything else with her hands full of clay and moss--oh! What about...

Producing a scrap of cloth from...somewhere, Zhiqiang proceeded to line the thing with some of the dry leaves that were scattered over the forest ground. He then held the cloth, leaf-side up, out to Jay, jerking his head towards it. "Uhhhh, drop it all in here, I guess! And I can wrap it up and carry it around like that!"
