Petra had hand delivered each of the hand-written invitations herself. Some, she knew, wouldn't reach their intended party in time. After all, Clarice and Reine were already gone, but they had mutually decided that it was still worth it to make them invites, and leave them for when they returned. It was a gesture, more than anything. In fact, since Robert had hand-written Clarice's, taking the same amount of time that Petra had taken in writing all of the other invitations combined, it clearly meant a lot to him. So, they were left, and the rest were given out to the members of Phoenix, and a few girls that Petra herself had wanted at her side. The information was brief, simply stating to meet Petra at the portal room that evening, and to dress as nicely as they could possibly manage. The small group were cleared to use their leave for the day, and Robert had gone in that morning, alone. Because he was in charge of setting up the decorations. God help us all.

Jerry had found the letter tucked into the strings of his guitar in it's hiding spot under one of the bunker beds. He stared at it for quite some time, briefly wondering if he should ask if Sasha would like to come as his date... but it didn't say anything about guests.
He left well enough alone, telling her simply he was heading off on a short mission.
Robert and Petra were getting married. Officially.
He should be happy for them. He WAS happy for them. What the two of them had... no one else on the Island could claim. They knew each other... forever, as far as he knew. Why shouldn't they get married?
The part of him that was still Zeta Four couldn't help but frown.
He was happy for them.
It had taken a bit of a mad dash into the dorms to raid some of his nicer clothes, but even in what wardrobe he could pilfer from before the Insanity Shadows closed in was difficult to choose from. For a moment, he debated just wearing the jumpsuit he had adopted recently. But no. This was a special occasion. He settled for his remaining suit that had not been destroyed, his hunter coat, and his least-offensive bow tie.
Back in the bunker, he had combed his hair as best he could, trying to tame the mop it had become in the recent months. It wasn't quite long enough to pull back. He felt frumpy but... it was the best he could do.
Deep breaths. It was a happy occasion. He had moved on. He should just let it all go. Be happy for his friends.
Maybe, he thought to himself, guitar strapped to his back as he made his way to the portal room, one day he and Sasha might...
He was getting ahead of himself.
He had gotten to the room early, planting himself down in what chair he could find to try to remember what wedding-like songs he could think of in a series of stiff, fumbling chords as he waited for Petra or the other guests to arrive.

This..this was a thing!
Cass hadn't been sure exactly what the envelope in her chosen bunk was exactly right off of the bat, after all. She hadn't been expecting what she got either, sitting down on her bed as she unfolded the handwritten invitation and then seemed to perk up. This was definitely a thing!
The high pitched sound of 'EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE' could probably be heard for quite a ways as well. Taking a day off for something completely exciting?
Oh, you had to have bet your a** she wasn't going to miss out something like this! The first order of business had been to go make a risky little visit to her room in the dorm building - clear out a few unwanted pests, but also to pick up one of her dresses from the closet, along with a pair of shoes. They weren't the fanciest of things, but dammit, Cass was going to make the occasion as nice as she could!
A shower, and the most taming her hair had gotten in weeks followed, as well as excited gushing to Marcus. Weddings were about ten times more exciting to Cass now than they had been before. Weddings had never been exciting to Cass as she'd never been to one or had the idea of one and just.. eeeeeeEEEEE!!!!
She arrived in the portal room some time after Jerry had dressed in a rather modest looking light blue dress that looked as though she should have been wearing it to a spring dance of some sort rather than a wedding, her hair pinned back out of her face and the biggest of grins. The first person to talk to her would likely detonate the time bomb of excitement she was holding in.

Wedding! Wedding! Wedding! WEDDING!!Madison didn't so much walk to the portal room as float, wearing the only sundress she still owned and praying that Robert and Petra weren't getting married in the Arctic. "Jerry! Jerry!! Hey, you were wearing a tux last time I saw you!" Madison beamed, zooming over to plop next to him after waving to Cass. ... He'd been a penguin last time, of course. "Isn't this exciting?" she gushed. "It's so nice to see you, too!"

Jerry's guitar gave a sudden dischord when his hand slipped as he jumped. "Oh, ah, Madison! W-wait, tux?" When had he.... he blushed, head filled with snow and ice and a craving for fish. "Oh. Ahah... ahahahaha.... y-yeah, very exciting. Um. It's good to see you too. When I'm not er... feathered, ahahaha. Hey ah... how does this sound?" He started again with the progression of traditional wedding chords, this time with a few personal flairs tossed in, "Sound right?"

The invitation had been a welcome sight. Jordan had taken the time to make a quick outing to the dorms, dodging fog monsters to grab what little semi-formal attire he had. His best bro was getting married; this was an occasion that warranted not just a dress shirt but even a tie. When he showed up at the portal room, he was dressed neatly in slacks, a crisp black shirt, and a red tie, his hair combed back for once.
Jerry was here already, as were Cass and Maddie. "Hi, guys," Jordan said, and grinned.

She hadn't seen him all day. This in itself wasn't unusual -- she had often been gone for most of the day as of late, busy with research and whatever the division leaders could find for her. More and more she'd even been staying at other bases overnight, even days at a time as she worked on encryptions and analysis of some of the specimens found there. But this was different. Sitting there in his room the night before, she cross-legged on his bed, a pile of invitations scattered in organized chaos around her, he on the floor, with his single note card, the gravity of the situation had hit her, finally, like the sudden rush of an unexpected wave as it swept a child off their feet. Hand going still, she had looked up from the elegant calligraphy balanced under the 'Hunter's Handbook' on one knee, waited a few breaths before turning her head to look over at the tank of a man bent so intently over the invitation on the floor. From where she sat, she could see the tip of his tongue poking out from between his lips, his brows furrowed in concentration as he carefully marked out every letter, determination set in his eyes. And all she could think was 'I love this man.'
Petra realized that she never wanted to be without him again.
She could hear the sound of muffled voices as she made her way down the hall to the portal room, signifying the arrival of some of the guests. The sound of her heels clicked against the tile with every step she took, matching the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. The soft white material of her wedding dress brushed along her legs as she walked, adding a gentle rustle to the quiet sounds of her approach. Today, it was different. Before this moment, it had never quite seemed real. Perhaps despite how long they had been together, how long she had known him, part of her always thought that it just wouldn't work out. They would have a huge fight, and it'd turn out that they were just too different, and he wouldn't come back. He wouldn't creep back into her room in the middle of the night, crawl under the covers and wrap his arms around her. He'd realize that he wanted someone stable, someone out of harm's way, someone he didn't have to worry about every minute they were apart because they might die horrifically at the hands of some monster. Someone who could someday give him children.
But he didn't.
For once, Petra seemed almost shy as she stepped into the room, midnight blue eyes moving to each of the other occupants individually. Although her hair had been pinned up, keeping all but two little strands off the curve of her neck, she reached up automatically anyway to try to brush it behind her ear -- a long forgotten habit. It took a few moments for her to regain her composure, her expression evening out as she offered the slightest of smiles to the four in the room, all lingering doubts not of him, but of the dress, of the day, of whether or not she deserved him at all suddenly vanishing.

Dress. Dress.
DRESS!!
Cass almost immediately made a high pitched squealing noise when Petra walked into the room in her wedding dress. In fact, she kind of continued to make all sort of excited noises and arm flapping and gestures as she half ran over to the other half of Team Texas Ranger for as ginger of a hug as she could possibly give.
"You look BEAUTIFUL!" she squealed.

Jerry glanced up from his guitar at Cass's squeal, his face reddening as he spotted the bride-to-be. She did look beautiful. He hovered back with Jordan and Madison, wobbling a bit as he swiftly changed his tune for her arrival.

Ennéa walked towards the portal room and tried not to feel too self-conscious. Between her two-month long punishment and then her own post-mission self-imposed quasi-hermitage in her old room, she had been out of commission for a while now. It has been an equally long time since she'd last seen her fellow Phoenix squad members. Ennéa was looking forward to seeing them all and yet she felt inexplicably shy.
And her clothes weren't helping the matter. Ennéa tugged on her uniform coat yet again and picked up her walking pace. She had never been to a wedding before but she suspected that she was vastly under dressed for such a special occasion. It couldn't be helped though; Ennéa didn't have anything by way of nice clothes so she had just worn her cleanest uniform set and attempted to neatly style her wild pink hair as Maddie had once shown her. The effect wasn't great but her friends wouldn't care, right?
All of Ennéa's thoughts of her own grubby appearance slipped her mind as she approached the portal room and spied Petra in her wedding dress. "Wow." She sighed dreamily. The older hunter looked like she had just stepped out of a movie screen or off a fancy magazine page.

"That sounds wonderful, Jerry! - Hi Jordan! - you should record th- OH MY GOD." And Madison's words dissolved into a quiet squee that quickly scaled out of the human audible range. "Oh my goooooooooood she looks sopretttyyyyyyyyyyyyy" she whisper-squeed, shaking Jerry's shoulders in excitement. A flicker of pink hair tore Madison's attention away from Petra for a minute, and - oh em gee! Ennea had actually listened to her hairstyling advice! She let go of Jerry and clasped her hands, thrilled beyond words by pretty much everything and everyone in the room. There might have been stars in her eyes.

"You look wonderful, Petra," Jordan said, smiling. Petra managed elegant most of the time, even in uniform or civilian clothes; something about the way she carried herself lent a quiet dignity to her appearance. In her wedding dress, she looked like a princess, or even a queen.

Madison's shake sent Jerry's glasses slipping down his nose, "Y-yeah..." He continued to play a bit gentler and slower as he eased himself to his feet to join her, his cheeks still flushed, "Look at my Zeta-Sister, all grown up," He laughed weakly as he joined Petra and Cass.

Candace had not been expecting the invitation tucked into her bag of clothes. She had not been expecting what the invitation was for either. A...wedding? She'd been to weddings before, she'd even been in the bridal parties of a few of them, but somehow this one threw her off despite how long the couple had been engaged. It'd been a year now, huh? A whole year...
Did...she even have anything on hand to wear? Of course not. She had to go to her ******** room. Goddamn piece of s**t insanity monsters why couldn't the fog just go away forever. She had taken great care to do her best to avoid any creatures, slipping in and out of her room without too much trouble. A cute dress, jewelry, a bit of makeup and some actual effort put into her hair. Perfect. She had no qualms with showering around anyone, she just had to keep from breaking a sweat as she wandered around trying to fight off monsters. It was difficult, but she managed it somehow. It was a miracle, okay?
She did her best to arrive as quickly as possible, though it still seemed she had arrived after the bri--whoa.
Candace's eyes widened. When had Petra gotten a wedding dress? She looked beautiful! "Hi~!" She called out, hurrying to the group an stopping to look the bride up and down. "Oh, Petra. You're beautiful." Her smile was warm, leaning in to give the younger woman a light kiss on the cheek. "Congratulations, Peppermint." She said with gentle excitement, containing herself otherwise she'd probably be a squealing thing just like Madison and Cass. Candace doesn't squeal, okay.
...Okay, maybe she does.
She glanced Jerry's way as he laughed, her smile softening. He looked nice..it was refreshing to see him out of that stupid jumpsuit for the first time in weeks. Candace was almost tempted to make the 'we are married, you know' joke at him.
Almost.
It was quite a strong almost.
Maybe later.
"Hello, everyone~." She greeted them all cheerfully, looking around to see who all had arrived. The 'Phoenix' team, of course. That was a given. Cass was a delight to see as well!

The one thing Saya always had on her person was her notebook. Frequently, she left it around and this was probably what she had done this time when the invitation was left on top of it. As several other trainees had already concluded, having a variety in a wardrobe was harder than said. Saya had not had many chances to take days off in her world, especially not for clothes shopping. She was forced to settle for a semi-casual wear, an off the shoulders top that was long enough to adjust to a dress. She also settled for a fancier updo, something that could be done with a piece of ripped cloth.
She didn't have anything to say that the rest hadn't said. Her voice was still injured from when she last fought a monster, her fingers brushing against her throat to clear it. She held out her hands in a double-placed high five for Petra instead, also looking around the room to congratulate Robert in a double high five as well.
