Syd took a deep breath and turned, facing the other female with a serious expression. "Thank you SO much," she said. "I've found that sparring with people has really helped me learn, and after all the things lately--"
Izy said. She could practically feel him roll his eyes.
"Sorry, Izy says I'm blathering. Shall we start?" she asked, glancing around the still slightly foggy training ground for a second. It still creeped her out, but she would ignore it. She WAS mist. She should become comfortable with this, right?

"It's no problem, Syd," Sasha returned the very serious expression that the other woman gave her, though there was a twinkle in her eye that belied the stoic look on her face. "Like, you know. Me and my music. And Jerry and his music. And.. uh. Well. Anyway."

Yes. Yes she was.
"You're not blaaaaathering," Sasha groaned, waving her hand. "Izy, be nice. We're just... talking!"
Sasha quickly summoned Nona, gripping the handle of the each claw securely in her hands. "I'm ready."

Was this--was this Sasha's first spar? No, of course it couldn't be, Syd thought as she brought up her crossbow, jumping back and shooting the other girl. Sasha had been in several fights! She'd been there for the Allan-tight-show fight against zombies, and she'd been there with Syd patrolling in the Sahara--
But those weren't exactly spars, were they. Either way, Syd was certain she'd do fine!

Syd fell backwards, hitting her head against the hard ground and letting out a grunt. That had hurt. But it made her feel less guilty about shooting Sasha--somehow it was like shooting a poor, defenseless bird before this. Now, not so much.
She got to her feet quickly and jumped back again, trying to regain some distance between the two of them. Then she brought Izy up again, aimed, and fired.

Sasha bit her lip when the arrow collided. It hurt. It only made sense for her to get as close to Syd as possible. < Up close and personal, my bird?> Nona was amused. Sasha grinned through the sting where the arrow had hit her, dashing forward with the intent of driving Nona's claws into Syd's arm. She didn't want to cause any sort of personal, lasting damage. Sasha was her friend, but right now a better friend would be distance. Syd shot backwards, barely keeping her balance as she brought up her crossbow and shot the other girl again. She took her sparring seriously--up until someone had their FEAR shield broken. And, a bit surprisingly, there was a little smile on her face as she fought.
She enjoyed this.

Sasha took the attacks as best she could - it was hard to block something as small and slender as an arrow with a delicate weapon like hooks. Every time that Syd slipped away, Sasha pressed forward, seeking the advantage of close range. Quote: HP: 20/40 DMG: 4 CHG: 3/3 | /2

Syd jumped back again, feinted to the right, then headed left, bringing up Izy. Let's do it, she whispered mentally to him.
he said. The arrow shot out, then flashed brightly, blindingly right in front of Sasha. Syd looked away at just the right moment--she'd learned that the hard time.

Sasha was moving quick, Nona's voice hot and insistent in her mind. < Go. Go, go. Go, Sasha. Nona is ready. Syd took the hit head on, falling backwards as the strikes slashed away at her FEAR shield. That was amazing, she thought, even as her FEAR shield dropped down considerably. She hadn't know that Sasha had it in her.
For a moment she staggered, then she brought up her crossbow, took aim, and shot again.

Sasha kind of panicked when Syd fell back. Using Nona's charge on another hunter - let alone her friend - seemed wrong. She didn't like it, not at all. Grunting when the arrow flew true, Sasha took the hit before she desummoned Nona, placing the weapon back in her hair. "Ahh, gosh, Syd, are you okay?" Quote: HP: 12/40 DMG: CHG: 0/3 | 1/2

Syd took a deep breath, letting Izy switch back into his choker form, and let the breath out slowly. "I'm fine," she said with a little smile. "That was impressive," she added. "I knew there was a reason I wanted you at my back when we go monster hunting."
She straightened, discreetly wiping the dust off of her clothes and straightening her coat. "And you? Are you okay? Izy tends to hit a bit hard."
Shut it, Izy.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Nona's.. pretty demanding. She ah.. well." Sasha shook her head.
"Izy does hit hard, though. Consistent, too. Nona can ah.." she grinned, "be a little flighty sometimes."
Sasha shook out her dress and jacket, giving Syd a concerned look.
"You're sure you're fine?"
