What's the deal with the Chasind or Rivain? | Page 1 | Characters discussion! | Guild Forums

So I got the codex entry about the Chasind in origins. I read it, but I still don't know practically anything about them except that they live in the wilds and everybody hates them.
Even Hawke treats the Chasind in the Mark of the Assassin DLC as subhuman, and he/she's usually against any kind of racism and xenophobia (since the player doesn't live in the DA reality and therefore PROBABLY isn't actually racist against elves or mages or anything).
So I guess they must be objectively bad? I never understood that...

I also never really understood Rivain. I know they're kind of separate from the influence of the Chantry, and something about people intentionally getting possessed.
Isabela makes it sound like a lawless pirate port
But I don't know anything about it.

They're not related, they're just two recurring things in the series that I never understood.
Help?

We're getting a new hero for sure. No more Hero of Ferelden or Champion of Kirkwall. At least not as a playable character.
They can't do any worse of a job than they did in DA II with bringing back old companions. We still don't have any answers about Morrigan. Old characters only showed up as cameos (except for stupid Anders) and stayed super vague about the Warden. I'm pretty sure Zevran called my male Dalish elf a woman.

We're getting a new hero for sure. No more Hero of Ferelden or Champion of Kirkwall. At least not as a playable character.

lol yea they say it might be Cassandra as the main character thats the rumor... and if sje is we have to have Leliana back cause shes a seeker too now... tho i REALLY dont want to play as a Chantry lap dog =/ i hope since they are taking their time with it that it will be awesome ^^ idk i just really want to have Leliana back in the party lol ^^

Yeah! I think Antiva is supposed to be like Italy. But then Zevran has a Spanish accent. And then the Antivan Crows/merchants in Denerim have Russian accents! Wtf!
I don't know what the Qunari culture is supposed to be. They're definitely one of the more original cultures. I still don't like them.

I'm not a huge Leliana fan. I want Morrigan to come back. She was my favorite companion, and she just disappeared forever.

Ooh, where did you hear that about Morrigan? That would be awesome. All I've heard is that they're trying to avoid anything definite about Morrigan because her entire past few years could be entirely different depending on whether or not you let her do the ritual.

I just want to be anything that isn't a human again. X3 My favorite was playing as a Dwarf Noble or Dalish Elf. Being a human is so boring.

lol i read it in the back of the DA2 guide if you go to gamestop or barns and noble i bet they will have one you can read its pretty long but it tells you the history of the elves dwarfs etc ... i would love to be something other then human again too whee i hope that we can have more control over face mapping... i wanta put scars on my character damn it! F this crappy tattoo work! lol
