Zareth's father taught Lizzie how to defend herself using swords, and his mother taught Zareth how to fight bare-handed am mix of Karate and Jujitsu. Zareth's temper at the time was quite explosive and he would constanly get in fights with the local bullies in the small town they lived in, and was often the one to throw the last punch, not because he was the strongest, but because he was faster than the ones to throw the first punch. His constant fighting was the reason his parents decided to move to Tokyo.
Once Zareth's family moved to Tokyo his temper cooled rather quickly, but sadly at the loss of his parents to a mugger and his sister having been hospitallized because of the incident. Zareth and his family had been walking around Tokyo, trying to decide what restaurant they wanted to go to. After the mugger shot his parents, Zareth's temper exploded. In his blind rage, he broke every bon in the mugger's body, but some how left the poor fool alive, to live through the pain. His sister having been standing behind Zareth passed out at the sight of their parent's blood pooling around them.
