Kavanna awoke in the academy one bright morning. She was tired of the mundane existence she had found herself stuck with. She wasn't one to sit around and do absolutely nothing but school work all day. Her life needed some excitement, some fun, some adventure. Ah, how she had longed for some adventure. Never did she try to leave the safe confines of the great Celestial Plane. Not many dragons found their way through the portal, and most of the time, the guards would snatch them up and send them back out before any could take over the realm. So the killing of dragons was banned from the Celestial Plane because of the connection the Dovaa had with them.
Seeing a dragon was something that Kav had always wanted. Battling one would be an even larger task fulfilled. Her want for a dragon soul was so great that she decided to pack up her things and make her way to the realm of Magesc to find a dragon for her capture. She made herself some food to take with her on the travels and then began the trek down to the Celestial Fortress where she would take a portal to Serenia’s dock. She had learned a lot about Serenia from her studies at the academy, and finally it was time to go visit the place.
Kav made her way to Serenia and then dashed quickly into the gold covered forest. Every tree there was bright with gold and tanned with dark barked trees and pale green grass covered the foot of every tree and surrounded the entire floor with a majestic looking atmosphere. The Celestial Plane was modeled after Serenia more than Soudul, the thought crossed Kav’s mind as she looked in every direction. “Mission #001. Find a dragon and kill it for the soul.” she said aloud as she giggled and made her way deeper into the forest.
Hours passed, and night was upon the realm. Kav hadn’t had any luck seeing dragons whatsoever, but she came to a clearing in the middle of the forest. She had discovered Amafel, the southern lake of Serenia. There sat a dragon, a beautiful majestic green dragon with golden wings, a Ysali dragon. Kav was mesmerized by the sight, the beautiful lake, the sun setting over the horizon and the glistening of the waves crashing upon the lakes edge reminded her of a fairy tale.
The dragon was drinking some water; as Kav crept closer, the dragon was startled and instantly flew into the air, screeching at the top of its lungs. The dragon flew back to the ground, fully ready to battle the young Dovaa. It flung up vines in every direction, all of which began whipping Kav from top to bottom. “Ow! Oh! Ouch! Hey stop! Owww!” Kav screamed as she frantically waved her hands about to try and stop the dragons attacks. The dragon then belted out a call of some sort, causing the golden leaves from the surrounding trees to begin shooting from their perch right towards her, slicing her body with every sharp edge. Soon, there wasn’t anything else to do, Kav was too scared to try anything so she began to run back into the forest. That was crazy, and quite painful, she thought. She grabbed a few leaves when the dragon had stopped attacking her and used them to pat away the blood dripping from the many cuts she had acquired her first day out of the fortress. “Mission #001: Failed. Owwww...” she said with a sigh of both relief and devastation. Her dream of being a dragon hunter definitely wasn’t coming true, not her first attempt anyway.
It was time to make her way back to the Celestial Fortress, maybe she would be able to try this another day. Her trek was long ahead, how would she even make it there alive?
