The past few days had been rather hectic for the young witch. The boy she had very strong feelings for had vacated the school on a self-imposed de-stress vacation, the witch had made a new female friend, and than Belladonna had gotten all sorts of impetuous and sought out a fight. With a Hunter no less. Needless to say, it hadn't gone well. So, Belladonna was just a little knotted up inside. Even a good, heartfelt conversation with her sister hadn't done the trick. Not feeling she had many more options, Belladonna suited up in an manner she didn't normally partake in and pulled her broom from her closet. It was one of the few times the witch ever wore pants, but it was an outfit she was rather fond of. Once properly suited up and with broom in tow, the witch jumped out of her window and hopped onto the broom before she soared into the sky. Flying was a fantastic way to relax, but it also gave her a lot of time to just think. To ruminate over things and let them percolate in her mind. And even though she had been doing quite a lot of thinking as of late, she had done her thinking cooped in her room. It made a boat load of difference to think with the sky so very close. A few laps around the school was all she needed, sure to keep within sight of the campus as she just wandered in the sky. Though she was in no hurry, the witch slowly began a descent as she neared the outlying portions of the campus. Maybe one more lap? It certainly couldn't hurt...

Anna was outside, humming to herself as she worked in the communal garden; even though the plants no longer responded to her as they once did, she still enjoyed the feel of earth in her hands. That, plus having apparently made some friends, had made the witchling a bit more lively than usual. A shadow passed over her, and she looked up, startled - then saw the shadow's source. Her mouth dropped open, and she sprang to her feet. "Belladonnaaaaa!" she called out, stretching up onto her tiptoes and waving one hand as hard as she could, making bits of dirt fall off her her gardening gloves and spatter everywhere. "Hey! Belladonna!!"

It took a few minutes before the shout percolated through the air and to Belladonna's ears, but the moment she heard it she reared up on the broom to stop her forward motion and looked down. Someone was calling her name... And waving quite fervently? Curious, the witch swooped back down and cautiously drew near. She had gotten a ways away before she had stopped, so there was time to squint her eyes and attempt to decipher who was calling her. Did she know this person? Was it that damn Hunter come back to fight? (Could Hunters even come to Amityville?) But before her mind got too out of hand, a familiar face formed as the witch drew nearer. "By my stars and garter belts! Anna!" The witch greeted with a smile. She had been flying a bit high in case she needed to get away, but now she sidled up alongside the fellow witch, though she didn't touch the ground or land. "It is lovely to see you again! How are you? Doing a bit of gardening?" It had been a while since Belladonna had done the activity and just seeing the dirt that covered Anna's hands made her long to join in.

When the other witch turned, Anna slowed her bouncing, though she kept waving until Belladonna came to a stop near her. "Th-that was great!" she beamed, clearly impressed by her friend's flying prowess. "And it's nice to see you, too," she added fervently. She definitely hadn't forgotten Belladonna's lovely gift, and had gotten some excellent use out of the items within the basket. "How have you been? And y-yes, I'm gardening. It's soothing, kind of..."

For a few more moments Belladonna hovered, unsure what the proper protocol for flying was. Was it considered rude to hover near someone? Or was it perfectly within reason? She would have to check The Handbook for Elegant, Charming and Proper Young Witches of Worth. Just because it was a couple of hundred years old didn't mean a thing! After that, Belladonna landed and stood up straight, her broom held upwards next to her. She curtsied for the praise and looked down to Anna. Everyone kept asking the witch how she had been, what she'd been up to, on and on. They weren't trying to dredge up all her previous stress, merely being polite so Belladonna only smiled at the younger girl. "I've been well. A smite stressed, but you know how school can go." She paused for a moment and pursed her lips. "How have you been dear? I know it has been a while since I last saw you, so sorry about that. I had to take a small... break." The witch interjected a smile that said 'Please don't worry, its really all alright'. Yet at the mention of gardening being soothing, Belladonna's eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Is everything alright? You haven't been unnecessarily... Indisposed lately?" Which was essentially the polite way of asking whether Anna had visited the Four Clan Islands or encountered any Hunters.

"I-I've been doing okay," Anna said, quickly brushing some of the remaining dirt off of her gardening gloves before working her hands free. "I've been going to my classes and stuff, studying... not really exciting. Just normal." She looked earnestly at Belladonna. "What about you? A-and it's okay, I'm not... I've been busy too! So it's okay. I'm glad to see you now, though," she added, quickly.

The excessive motions Anna enacted as she brushed off the dirt and began to take her gloves off caught Belladonna's attention and a hand shot out to her shoulder. "Oh please! Don't stop your work on account of me! Go on ahead. Here, I'll sit with you while you work!" She insisted to the point of plopping down next to where Anna stood and smiled up at the girl. Honestly she wanted to get her own hands into the dirt and talk to the plants, so if she had a friend already in the middle of doing just that, who said she couldn't help? As for the mention of 'normal' and 'not exciting', Belladonna couldn't help but secretly thank Hecate for keeping Anna safe. She was such a small thing, she looked so fragile... And while the witch was sure she was a very strong girl, she also didn't want anything horrid to happen to the fellow witch. "Normal is not necessarily a bad thing. Have you heard of everything going on?" She asked as she folded her broomstick over her lap. A fingernail scratched idly at the polished wood, but she belied no emotion besides mild curiosity. After another moment she turned to face Anna and gave her a most warm smile. "I am glad to see you as well. Now that this is our second meeting, you'll have to tell me all about yourself so we can be better friends." This was said with a wink and a small, care-free giggle.

"U-um... I heard that some other Halloween creatures were coming to this town, because something happened to where they came from," Anna said, after thinking for a moment. "That's the big news..."Her words trailed off at the mention of telling Belladonna about herself, but she reacted much less shyly than she might have even a few weeks before. "Me? I... well, I like plants. My magic used to be about them, though it's changed," she said, thoughtfully. "I still like them, though. Um... my familiar is kind of a butt. Don't tell him I said that," she added, quickly. (It was worth noting that her cheeks turned pink when she said 'butt'.) "And, um... I'm not too good at scaring, but I went with Professor QB on the field trip and managed to scare a human all by myself! It was great!" The witchling beamed. "Since I don't have scary claws or spikes or a weapon, I have to work really hard at it, but I did it!"

Belladonna's head bobbed lightly as Anna talked, a small gesture of her attentiveness. Perhaps later the older witch would tell the younger exactly what had happened to the 'Other Halloween creatures', but for now she would keep the conversation as light as possible. It was lovely to see Anna not only for her delightful company. She was untouched by all the happenings, she was still pure, in a sense. A little bit of purity could certainly cleanse Belladonna's darkening heart. "Your magic has changed? Oooohhhh, how interesting. May I ask how it changed, if its not too personal? And what is your new magic?" Belladonna had heard of that sort of occurrence, but had never talked to anyone who had gone through it. When Anna's cheeks blushed and she confessed about her familiar, Belladonna couldn't help the lilting laugh that burst from her. "Oh darling, I think all familiars are butts. Even my little Binx can be unpleasant more than he is friendly. But so long as at the end of the day, your Shibey still wants to be with you and would lay down his life for your's, that's really all that matters."That's what familiars did after all. Granted, Belladonna was sure Anna and Shibey enjoyed a far more interesting relationship. After all, Belladonna was sure that Shibey actually fought with Anna during battles, as opposed to Binx who just... Was unnaturally bonded to the witch. (It was a bit of a secret that Belladonna didn't actually share the other fun familiar qualities other witches did with their familiars, but no one really need to know all that.) "You went to the Human World!? I'm so jealous!" But the older witch only turned to the younger and looked at her with excited eyes. "How did you scare them? I've never been to the Human World and I don't know if I'd be able to scare anybody... All I have are my Tarot Cards and those aren't all that scary..." Lucky Anna! Got to visit the Human World and scare somebody!

"Oh, um, it... I think it was because I bonded to Shibey," Anna said, a little awkwardly. "And, um, it's... curse magic, but it's s-stronger than the magic I had before... just not useful for gardening." She scuffed one toe in the dirt. The witchling did seem to cheer up when Belladonna agreed with her about familiars, though. "I h-hope so," she said, cheeks pinking a bit as she nodded. "He did help me scare the human - I g-guess if they can't see you, they can't tell what you are! So I grabbed an ankle, and... boom! Scary!"

Curse magic, eh? That was some pretty powerful magic, but Belladonna was even more curious about it now! What all did it entail? What were her powers now? Could she still cast spells, just different kinds of spells? Would it be polite to ask? Belladonna decided to just wait a bit on all that. "Well, just because your magic doesn't work on plants anymore doesn't mean you still can't, yanno... Talk with them. Plants respond very well that way!" But Anna probably already knew that... Still, Belladonna was just trying to be kind and make the younger witch feel better. She seemed to have some sort of negativity about the thing, so Belladonna only wanted to help! All she did was grab some ankles! Man, that sounded all sorts of easy! Belladonna could totally do that, no problem! But there was that whole pesky notion of going to the Human World to test it out. Hmmm. "That's fantastic! I'm so happy for you. What all did you do while you were there?" The Human World was such a fascinating place, but Belladonna hadn't been. She so wanted to, just to see what it was like...

"Yes! I talk to them all the time. The ones in my room, too," Anna said with a firm nod. "And, um... I mostly listened to Professor QB. And I hid under a bed. It was such a weird place, like Halloween but all faked up! By humans! And we met a human who could see us and wasn't afraid..."

That all sounded rather like everything else the witch had heard until... "There was a human who could see you... And wasn't afraid?" That sounded... Very, very wrong. And actually a little frightening. Why weren't they afraid? What had happened to them that they didn't fear the creatures that were created to scare them? It was so strange that Belladonna sincerely hoped Anna would expound on the occurrence. After a moment, Belladonna shifted a bit and realized she still had a grip on her broom. She flexed her fingers for a moment to bring the feeling back to them and then stopped. Hadn't she once said... "Anna... If your magic is now curse magic... Can you still do spells? Any sorts of spells?" If she could, even small ones... Then maybe, just maybe, Belladonna could teach the younger witch to fly. And wouldn't that be just the most wonderful thing in the world? To have a real flying buddy. And a witch no less!

"Oh, yes... she was so nice!" Anna beamed. "She understood what we were and wasn't mean about it or anything! She helped us. I guess not all humans can see us, usually? There's so much I still have to learn..." The witchling sighed, a little dreamily. She had liked the representatives of DETH, and the human woman, and actually being able to scare someone properly. That day was one of the best she'd had in a long time... Belladonna's next question brought her down to earth again, though. "I, um... I can't do the spells I used to do," she admitted, staring at the ground for a moment. "A-and, um, I haven't used my... my other magic very much... only when I had to protect myself around Christmastival..." She scuffed at the ground again, obviously a little uncomfortable with the subject.

A nice human, who wasn't mean and wasn't scared and actually helped Halloweeneers? Well that sounded all sorts of... Interesting? Fun? A strange combination of the two? Hm. Belladonna sincerely hoped she could take a trip to the Human world soon so she could find a human like that too. Maybe they could share fortune telling tips! Because obviously a human who knew about them and wasn't scared was obviously in tune with the more mysterious parts of life. In any regard, the witch fixed her gaze on the little witchling's and watched with a small pang of guilt as Anna exhibited classic signs of being uncomfortable. Her eyes were diverted, she fidgeted and started to stutter and fill up her sentences with 'um's. Belladonna felt bad over asking, but at the same time it felt like maybe Anna was just dealing with a block. Maybe she just needed someone to help her work it all out? "Ugh, Christmasville is such a horrid place. Full of snow and JOY and bleck." The witch momentarily stuck out her tongue and shivered at the remembrance of the cold and icky snow which she had never been able to properly traverse. Vaguely she wondered if they would take another trip there this winter? Hopefully not... But it could be fun to take a little detour and beat up on some stupid Christmas elves... "But you can still do spells! Even protection spells are spells!" For a moment Belladonna tapped her chin before she tilted her head. "I'm not familiar with curse magic, so excuse my questions... But you should definitely try to learn a few more spells if you can. It seems like you're not in tune with it yet and that's fine! Its still very new, but... And please do not think I am prying or anything... But I think you have great potential to be an excellent witch! I think you could really own your magic."
