Coeur had wandered the rogue lands for a short amount of time before she had finally found herself on the Mwezi border. Her dark pink eyes scanned the horizon as she smelt that there was a large concentration of lions that resided here, signifying to her that this was most likely a pride. Then again, she could have been completely wrong. Coeur was a young lioness with not much experience in life and as such was probably wrong about most things. However, something in her chest gave her reason to stay here and wait. Maybe someone would show up soon.
The young lioness had left her old pride not long after reaching adulthood, seeking her own path in life. She had no idea who she was or what she wanted out of life and she felt as though staying would not make her any happier. So she left. It had been the hardest thing she had ever done in her life and staying gone proved to be difficult too. Until she had met her familiar Aether. He was a crazy bird but she loved him dearly. He alone had kept her going through the tough times though he was more then likely oblivious to it.
Coeur felt in her heart that this was the place she had been looking for. Though, she wasn't sure why it was.

It felt good to be back on duty again. Oh sure, he loved Kibi and their kids, but a lion needed space, needed to feel useful as more than just a father and babysitter. The kids were juveniles now, nearly adolescents, and didn't need one or the other of their parents around all the time.
But there was something exhilerating about being on patrol again, out on the borders. Though, there was a figure out there. Curious, the brown lion trotted over.
"Hello there!" Hopefully, this would be a friendly rogue. He hadn't heard of any unfriendlies in the area lately, but one couldn't be too cautious when dealing with strangers. After all, he did have a family back home to think about.

The blue lioness' attention was stolen by the approaching brown lion with a moon between his eyes. For a brief moment she showed a stance that signified that she was going to take caution and would be ready for an attack should he lung at her. However, she quickly changed it to a friendly one that would hopefully show she meant him no harm. "H--Hello." Coeur said with a warm smile that showed not only on her maw but in her eyes. "My name is Coeur." She paused. What was she to say? I feel like I belong here, wherever here is? No, he would probably think she was some crazy lunatic and try to usher her off immediately which she most certainly did not want to happen. Then again her honesty might pay off. Well time to take a chance!
"I was wandering around without a direction after leaving my birth pride and eventually found myself here. Sorry for intruding." Coeur said with a sheepish grin. Hopefully he would be as friendly as he seemed. And maybe even understand what it was she was seeking. Though in truth she wasn't even sure herself. "What is this place?" Coeur asked though his answer didn't mean much to her. After all, the feeling in her chest told her this was where she needed to be and she was determined to see it until the end.

Ah, if only every day was this easy. A lioness who looked quite friendly, who was willing to spill everything important that he had to know about her (though he wasn't sure about the feeling like she belonged here, tha was a little weird). Regardless, she seemed to want to make his job easier.
"These are the lands of the Mwezi'Johari," the lion replied once he had a space in which to speak. "I am Uchanjaa, a Guard. Can I...help you?"
It sounded like she wanted to join the pride, at least, that's what he thought he was getting out of that. He didn't think anyone other than Halili talked that fast!

"Mwezi'Johari." She smiled a bit brighter. "Nice to meet you Uchanjaa!" Coeur said as her tail curled up behind her. "I think, something's telling me that I belong here." She blushed a bit, realizing herself that she probably sounded crazy to him. But it was truth. "I know, it sounds crazy. But I think I finally found my path." Coeur beamed once more. She generally didn't talk this fast nor did she usually act this... odd. To her though, this place felt as though it might just up and move if she let it. For the first time in her life she felt this sense of belonging even though she wasn't actually in the pride. In fact she wasn't technically within it's borders yet.
"Sorry.. I just left home because I didn't feel like I belonged there. I had no idea who I was as a lioness nor did I know what I wanted to become. But as I said, something tells me this is where I need to be. Though, I have no idea why or how." Coeur laughed lightly mostly out of nerves. In her old pride she had been a duchess. At the top of the chain so to speak, so standing here talking like this, well it seemed really odd. Not that she was the prissy I'm better than you type.

Purple eyes blinked. He had never met anyone who shoved their life story down his throat so fast and with a smile on their face. He still wasn't sure about the whole "feeling" business.
"I see...I guess. Uh, well, if you want to join the pride, I suppose the next order of business would be to bring you to the King and Queen. Or the Heiress." The brown lion turned so that he was now standing next to Coeur. "If you'll come with me?

Coeur was a bit surprised that the male actually agreed to take her into the pride. She was happy that he was but at the same time she wondered if this was really where she should be. No. Don't judge it. "You'll take me to see them?" Coeur asked curiously, wondering if this was really some kind of trap.
"Of course!" She finally answered with enthusiasm.

Well, this was going very well. Uchanjaa was still a little off-balance by Couer's enthusiasm, but he was pretty sure that she meant no harm. And new blood was always good for the pride.
Still, the final decision was for the royalty and leadership of the pride to make, and the Guard was perfectly happy to have it that way.
"Well, just come with me and we'll get you an audience. And may I be the first to welcome you to the Mwezi'Johari!"

"Thank you Uchanjaa. If I'm allowed in by the King and Queen or the Heiress then I will make sure to thank you again later." She said as she took in a deep breath. It felt a bit surreal to her that she was for the most part being accepted here. She knew right off the bat that she wasn't going to be a Duchess again like in her old pride and that made her scared but excited all at the same time. It meant that she could reinvent herself. Maybe this time she could be a warrior of some kind. Like how she had always wanted. But first she would have to be accepted by the leaders of the pride first. Her body felt like it could burst right then and there.
"I'll make sure to make it up to you somehow." Coeur added. How though? She wasn't sure.

"There's no need for that, this is just part of my duty," Uchanjaa replied simply. He led her deeper into the pride lands. The lion wasn't sure what it was about her, but Coeur made him kind of nervous. He'd never met anyone quite like her. Frankly, he was eager to be done for the day so he could go relax with his mate and children.
Leave the decision making to the royal family and let him get back to his own.
