They'd gotten their orders to socialize a little, and Harrison didn't see why he couldn't multitask. He and Killer had come over pretty often before the whole Apocalypse thing, and he was starting to become an expert in weird s**t.
And that s**t happened to be Minipets.
He set Killer down in the grass, releasing the fat herpicorn from a pair of gigantic, hairy hands and long claws. Killer didn't seem too bothered by them. The herpicorn started trotting towards the hill that lead to the main Amityville Campus.
"Hold on a second," Harrison scowled, "Got to wait for everybody."
Killer turned to prance excitedly around Harrison's feet.

Rep wasn't used to golems. At all. It was strange and awkward and all kinds of uncomfortable. Even walking felt strange with a tail to balance it, and keen ears that moved without him even realising he was ******** doing it. Not to mention all the ******** fur. Fur everywhere. So much of it.
He spotted Killer getting a bit ahead and wandered over to stand next to Harrison, or at least the furry person who was currently being piloted by Harrison.
Right beside him, he felt very small in comparison and found himself flicking his ears back and tucking his tail before speaking.
"Ey."
He eyed Killer. "At least he likes it here?"

"Whoever programmed the golem selection process has a sense of humor and if I ever find out who it was I will beat them, I swear to God." Jordan had Mango tucked into the crook of his arm; while the foxfire was wagging his tail delightedly, the cat-demon golem's tails were lashing with irritation.

"He hasn't killed anything in a month," Harrison said.
When Jordan appeared, Harrison grinned, his massive, bristly tail making a couple of slow wags.
Then he snorted a few times, as if trying to clear his nose. He rubbed it irritably. "What have they got us as this time, dog monsters? Figures." He leaned over closer to Jordan, giving him a couple of whiffs. "You smell like- hell, I don't know, I've never smelled that before." He gave Jordan a few more whiffs to make sure.
He seemed to not notice how close he'd gotten.
He'd also forgotten that he should probably be briefing Rep.

"Wolf monsters" Rep corrected. He'd watched way too many daytime wildlife shows while lazing on the couch, and wolves had been one of his favourites for various reasons. He wasn't prepared to be a dog.
As Jordan arrived though he realised the other sun most certainly wasn't a dog monster at all. Or a wolf. Or anything canine.
"Everything smells different like this." he could swear he could smell colours, he tried not to breathe though his nose, exactly the opposite of what Harrison was actually doing. He finally untucked his tail as he sidled over to get a better look at Jordan, giving a very toothy grin.
"Mee-yow"

Jordan's eyes slid to the side to watch Harrison narrowly. His ears folded slowly back against his head, and both tails puffed up to bottlebrush shapes. "I hate cats," he grumbled. "It ******** figures I'd get a cat monster. Demon. Thing. Whatever. Aaaagggghhhhh Harrison stop that, it's making me want to scratch you." He reached up and pushed Harrison's nose away from his ear.
Rep got a sour look. "Har har."

Harrison was still sniffing busily when Jordan pushed him back. "I'm not Harrison," he said, remembering about the debriefing, "I'm uh, let's see here. You got to think of a fake name," Harrison said, then with another wolfish smile, "You should be able to remember Ace, right?"
Killer plopped down next to Harrison, looking up at the little foxfire curiously.
"You've seen what we'll be running into before. Kids with their faces rotting off or with horns sticking out of everywhere. But don't act surprised. Or try to pick a fight. They do some pretty shitty things to humans, but they're okay with other monsters."
He tried to remember the first time Clarice had taken him here, and what she'd said. He also resisted the urge to lean over and get a better smell of Rep too.
"Oh, and they mostly talk English, except sometimes they use all these weird spooky versions of words. Like...boys are boils, and girls are ghouls. Tracey can help you out with that."
He looked back over at Jordan. "Anything I forgot?"

It was a surprising amount of fun watching how expressive Jordan's tails were, his own tail swishing eagerly as he watched. It was weird but at the same time fascinating.
He was still very much listening to Harrison's briefing though, a lot of the things he wouldn't have had a clue about. He'd noticed Tracey said some strange words sometimes but he didn't realise it was a universal thing for them.
He turned and looked Harrison over with a thoughtful frown.
"My name is "Your Majesty""

Once the sniffing was no longer right in his ear, Jordan calmed down somewhat. The fur on his tails subsided back to normal proportions, and his ears lifted, flicking to catch any small sound. "There's a reason not to pick fights in golems," he added to Harrison's warning. "Tracey's back in that pod with you; he can't give the golem a Fear shield, and it only has enough Fear in it to keep it going. If you try to fight, the golem's attempt to raise a shield will draw too much Fear out and it'll fall apart."
"There's a lot of terrible puns in the local language," he said. "Tracey can help you with that; in doubt, ask him. You can probably get away with being a wolf of few words. If you don't want to talk, just growl a little." The bakeneko golem's version of a smile was mostly expressed with its ears and whiskers. Jordan got the vague sense that showing his teeth in this shape was reserved for hostile gestures.
He gave Rep a very unimpressed stare at the name suggestion. "You could always go with an old standby. Like maybe Fido," he drawled.

Or at least, he was trying to resist. He gave up, sniffing nosily at Rep's hair and grinning sharply. "Your Majesty ought to try something more informal, is what he's saying."

He made note of the no summoning Tracey point at the very least, however, at the name suggestion, he looked a little less pleased. His tail stopped wagging.
Back in his proper body a nickname like Fido would be pretty funny and he'd likely take it in his stride, like this though he wasn't sure why, it bothered him. He got the feeling if this shape had hackles they'd be raised. He thought your majesty was a damn good name to combat the inferiority evoked by calling the massive werewolf - currently distractingly sniffing his hair - Ace.
"Why?" he challenged. "Kitty threatened by it?"
Harrison got a stare. "Well I was asked to pick a name. I picked one."

"Not particularly, but you should really pick something more namelike." Conflicting impulses - Jordan wanted to get up close and stay a safe distance away all at once. It made him irritable; he gave Rep a long, even stare.

Harrison wouldn't have minded calling him Your Majesty the whole trip, but there was something about that smell- sharp-anxious, that made him suddenly feel very set against giving in. He sniffed and grinned wider.
"Pick a different one," he growled, "or I'll pick for you."

Rep was still fairly adamant about not giving in. "Mr Your Majesty then" he retorted snappily at Jordan, meeting the stare with his own yellow one.
And then Harrison spoke up and suddenly everything about his posture seemed to wilt, cowering down a bit away from the growl, ears back, tail tucked again. He frowned and threw up his hands.
"Whatever, both of you ******** pick something. I don't even care."

That was just fascinating. Jordan stalked closer and draped an arm over Rep's shoulders, smirking at him. "How about Rex, your majesty? Means king." He looked up at Harrison, a thoughtful, calculating, measuring look, and blinked slowly.
Ferros made a suggestion.
Jordan laughed. "You guys can call me Yuu. That ought to be memorable enough, right?" His tails waved lazily.
