Kovak's Teepee

It was a quiet morning in the mountains, and Sephia was lounging upon a rock facing the sunrise. Truly this time of day was her favorite, it was a promise of possibilities and new beginnings. The woes of days past seemed less this time of day, at least to her. The sun bloomed over the horizon in a stunning blaze of reds and oranges, while the thin clouds were stains of pink thrown in for variety. A gentle sigh passed her lips as she watched a phenomenon so exquisite and yet so assured that it was often overlooked.
What would she do this day, she wondered. Nothing came to mind, so perhaps she would simply stay up on this mountain side all day and watch as life happened. Sometimes she would see others, but lately had been going through a stretch of solitude. This did not bother her, for she was happy just being most of the time. The rest of the time it was but a flight away to find someone to share her existence with. Perhaps, it was time to break that solitude however. She'd felt a tad lonely of late, so maybe she would go flying and find someone to talk to. Deciding to leave that decision until later in the morning, she relaxed and watched the rest of the sunrise in peace.
At last, when the sun was visible in the sky as not more than a shining golden ball and the color show was over, she shook herself from her stillness.
"I wonder who is about today?" She said to no one but the air around her.
With deliberate motions, Sephia threw herself into the air from her place on the mountainside. It was truly a beautiful day, and she enjoyed the feeling of wind under her wings as she flew in a spiral, trying to find a good place in the valley beside her mountain to land. Hopefully there would be someone to talk to, and if not she would go to her tree and wait for him to return to her.
