THE WEEPING FOREST The Weeping Forest: - Roll a 100-sided dice each time you post. Match your dice roll to the results below as to what you find. Make sure to RP out the post. You can work with someone else as well, so each of you can obtain max 10/15 items (depending on your job class) - You can only rp here with other Lost Clans members. This will still take place in the MAIN section of the guild where all the rp goes however! - Occasionally you will hear ??? noises. It seems minipets are pretty common in the area! You can summon any minipets your horsemen has carried with them/ found/ etc etc (or even found in the forest, as it is abundant with minis) to help you around in this area/ look for supplies/ etc etc. Unlike students, Lost Clans members use minis as tiny workers, and will only summon them as necessary and less so of a vanity item. - Once you are done, don't forget to claim points here- 1- 10: Thick branches - 11- 20: Wispy leaves (easily flammable) - 21- 30: Large hollow tree (dead) - 31 - 40: Tree bark - 41 - 50: Sticky tree sap - 51 - 60: Bones from dead minipets - 61 - 70: Dry moss - 71 - 80: Pine needles - 81 - 90: Large slab of stone - 91 - 100: Simple clay

Scavenging was an important task for the Clan. More-so, it was an important task to Kiwi. He had just left the funeral for the Clans, and in the wake of events was filled more than ever with a firm hatred. And determination. He would not rest til he succeeded in becoming a true scavenger.
And what better way to prepare for such a goal, than by scavenging now??
Favoring the quiet of the forest to the bustle of Halloweeners in Amityville, Kiwi made his way to the edge of the Weeping Forest. Passing through the undergrowth, his bare foot brushed across something, clattering with the sound of bone. He reached down, clearing aside the bramble to find a pile of minipet bones scattered at his feet. They would do nicely. Picking through them, he found the sturdiest one, wrapping it into his satchel as he continued forward, into a hushed clearing.

The weeping forest was slowly becoming one of Lifen's favourite places, the solitude and silence was perfect for her to get away in - and the greenery that was everywhere was so different from what she was from. Taking a few steps through the undergrowth, her heels dogged by her newly found minipet, Fluffy, a slightly mournful yapping coming from him as he chased her through the grasses she found him it.
Hearing the clattering of bones close to her, she halted her steps, looking down at her minipet before looking further, moving some of shrubbery and catching sight of the famine clans-mate, picking up pieces of what might possibly be another unfortunate minipet, who had met their end.
Clearing her throat, she waited a moment to allow the other clansmember to notice her before murmuring her hellos.
"Good afternoon, are you in need of assistance?" She wasn't the best at introductions.

A rustle sounded through the leaves and Kiwi paused, glancing up.
A rather elegantly-dressed Conquest clanswoman had stepped from the forest trees opposite him. He blinked a moment. She seemed so very out of place amid the dense shrubbery and dark soil, all the rotting things that littered the forest floor here. And yet, peculiarly, at the same time she almost seemed to belong ...
After a moment of pondering this, he carefully nodded his head. "I am gathering some things for the Clan. Feel free to lend a hand, if you happen to notice anything useful."
His eye had already wandered back off to the forest, where he noticed a scattered bed of pine-needles only a few feet from where he stood. Bending forward he carefully gathered a patch up, placing them inside his satchel.
But his eyes remained curiously on the ghoul when he thought she wasn't looking.

Taking the initiative, Lifen picked up a few pieces of pine needle around her translucent feet, offering them up with soft hands, taking a few steps closer to him - an attention to offer up a strange kind of Olive branch of a sort.
"I'd be willing to assist." She offered up before looking down at Fluffy softly. "Well, we are." She murmured down to him. "I've done a share of the work earlier back when a hoard of us had started, but I'd be more than happy to assist with whatever you find, and maybe bring it back. Fluffy will help, I found him here." She stated, feeling a little more talkative now that she knew that he wasn't going to strike her or chase her off or something. He seemed a little on the small side (not that she could talk), and she was assuming that he would need some kind of assistance, from what Mengyao and she had been through when they tried. Well, she did find two trees.
Clearing her throat a little, she closed the gap between them, offering up the needles again, before allowing a small smile break her face. He was really sweet looking. "Hua Lifen, but I am called Lifen." She felt silly not introducing herself immediately.

The horseman extended his hand carefully, taking the pine-needles and storing them away with the others. "Ah, my thanks Lifen." He made to turn, then added, almost in afterthought: "... I'm Kiwi by the way."
Kiwi parted the bramble ahead rather easily, searching the soil at his feet. "We need some fine clay, and several other items. Does your Fluffy have a good nose??"
He wasn't entirely sure why he was being so ... talkative. The horseman usually kept to himself, and his Famine brethren. After all, up until this point, Famine was all he had really known for countless years. Still ... something ... something about this ghoul intrigued him. What was it?? ... Sorrow?? ... That was no help. The entire Clans had been all but obliterated ... the- ...... they all were experiencing their fare share of sorrow. What then?? ... it almost seemed to hang around her, a silent but somber stillness ... sorrowful ... deep, even with the calm tone in which she spoke ...
"... What was it like?? ..." he spoke up after a silent moment, eyes at last finding the rich ruddy clay soil he had been searching for in the forest loam. He pulled a nicely sized glass vial with a cork stopper from his satchel's side pocket, beginning to scoop the earth inside. " For you ... what was Conquest truly like in all its glory?? ..."
He couldn't bring himself to ask her the question on his mind, so he instead chose one that skirted the edge of his curiosity. He knew some things of Conquest, general things, things all the clans knew of one another. But not its innermost workings, something only a true clansman of the Isle would know. And given the clans were one now, he held enough respect to the Clan, that - even a bit grudgingly - he too should learn more of the other Clans if given the opportunity.
"... Forgive me if I misspoke ..." he added softly, shifting his gaze back to the forest to avoid her eyes. His hands tensed at his sides.

Kiwi? What a peculiar name. As she followed the famine clans-mate in his workings, she lifted her hands up, and shook her head, showing that she wasn't all that bothered after his questions started spilling out like a water basin. A light smile threatening the edges of her face at the energy that he had, his words spilling out easily. It was kind of nice to see that some of the clansmen were still able to hustle and bustle around, interested in only the renewal of the great clans - or well "clan" that was remaining.
It seemed a little silly to the Conquest Clanswoman that they still sort of kept a split of four up, but it was hard to shake habits, wasn't it. Watching him she felt a little lighter than usual, his infectious energy dispelling the itch, the aches and sounds that dogged her feet, and so she watched him through marked eyes, letting his energy infect her a little.
"You mean no harm." She stated softly, hoping to instill some peace in him, his face a world of emotions. What she would give to hear his internal monologue that must be playing. Pursing her lips, she tried to think of where to start, watching him work with the clay, curiousity riddled - she didn't get any of that when she was working.
"For one, I am not sure about Fluffy's nose, it has been out of commission for who knows how long," she started at, sticking out a hand palm up and counting on her index finger, looking down at the skeletal-pup at her side, the critter in context whimpering happily, hearing his name. "We can always try though."
The second query made her pause for a moment, as the whispers snapped at her again, the mourning voices barely intellegable, she shook her head, attempting to think through it, to give him a good answer, a small bit of aggitation on her face. "It was beautiful." She started, slipping in to her bluntness again, subconsciously. "I would give anything to have what I lost back, but I know I will not be able to. Best way to explain it would be a watery heaven. There were flowers everywhere, very lush. Nothing like . . . " She trailed, lifting her hands to show she meant what they were standing it, before shrugging a little, partially for conversation, partially to get the edge off her shoulders.
"What was famine like?" Colour her curious.

Kiwi smiled softly to the clanswoman, and nodded. His bare foot stomped the ground. No, this wouldn't do. The leaves here were damp. He needed dry ones. "Why don't we put that nose to a test?? Fluffy, do you mind helping me find some dry leaves?? ..."
At her answer, Kiwi nodded softly. His thoughts raced to his homeland, the warm, dry sands, cool by night. The Colony, like one large family working together beneath the desert to cultivate life, while the Swarm scavenged the barren land for any other means. Divided by two Queens yes, but one none-the-less. He almost smiled as he remembered it. "It was wonderful there. ... Everyone worked hard together. We would celebrate together. ... What was one's, was all's." He glanced about them and couldn't help a small laugh. "Also nothing like this. It's very damp here, compared to the desert sands."
He still wasn't quite used to that. So much vegetation, even decaying and sparse as it was ...
Kiwi moved across the undergrowth, following after Fluffy as it nosed it's skeletal head to the ground. After a moment of picking through leaves, they came across a bed of dry leaves, nestled beneath some damper ones. Kiwi carefully gathered them into his satchel, taking a moment to stretch his limbs. Scavenging it seemed, took both time and patience. However, he felt he could possibly become accustomed to it ... provided he still clocked in his fair share of battles in between. There was nothing more sweet to the horseman than the thrill of battle. It was his element. Even in a poor fight, he understood the values of learning from his mistakes. And he wanted to become stronger, needed to, if he were to protect the Clan from those unspeakable human scum.
"Only about halfway," he mused, glancing into his satchel. "It seems this will take awhile longer."

Kiwi gazed up to the mostly bare branches of the forest trees. They were thick, sturdy, and would do nicely. Dashing forward he leaped into the air, darting from branch to branch up one of the trees. He paused about halfway up, eyeing a branch. His fingers wrapped around it, swaying it gently, gauging its weight, and he gave it a light tap with his knuckles. It sounded quite sturdy.
The horseman's face creased in determination as he stepped back, launching at the branch with a firm kick of his foot.
A snap sounded, crisp and clear, as the branch cracked near it's base, falling with a groaning creak to dangle by mere slivers of wood. Kiwi pried it apart, careful, not wanting it to fall atop Lifen below, before tying it securely to his satchel with some twine. He smiled as he made his way nimbly back down.

Fluffy could do this!
The little minipet skittered around happily, knowing that he would be of good use - but ultimately from anyone else's eyes, he just looked like a puppy throwing leaves around in excitement.
Watching him from her original spot, she left her attention to the clansmate, a soft smile on her face. "It sounds like we all have something in common." she stated, before tilting her head a little. "We were all very happy. But now we've all been a little upset with the change in lifestyles. . ." She trailed, before raising her eyebrows. "Maybe War not so much. They seem a little easier to settle in to, I believe this was liken to what they lived in." She deduced before nodding.
A content yalping filled the air when Fluffy emerged under a pile of dried leaves, waggling his tail left and right, content with his finds.
"Patience is a virtue some cannot afford. What next?" She murmured playfully to the little clansman, as she watched him hustle and bustle around, picking up his next item to stick in his satchel. her face softening. She had been lucky enough to have Mengyao around to keep her company. So she was . . paying it forward almost. That sounded about right.

"Brilliant job Fluffy." Kiwi was still smiling as he patted the little pet's head. Retrieving a second vial from his satchel, he bent to scoop up more of the soft clay of the forest floor, nodding in agreement as Lifen spoke. "I couldn't have expressed it better myself ..." He rose back up, pocketing the now-corked vial, and paused to check his list. "We still haven't found any pine needles, sticky tree sap, tree bark, dry moss, or a large slab of stone ..."

A unnatural snort came from the little Artisan at the sound of piles of rocks, her back straightening a little as she looked down to Fluffy, who seemed perfectly fine with the world - unlike when she had found him.
"I assure you, you will not need slabs of rocks. Mengyao and I found at least five between ourselves during our outing. And two large trees!" She stated, feeling more talkative than she had through the last few days before scrinching her face up again. "They were very heavy. Just get what you think is best and I'm sure they'll be happy with what we bring back."
She knew it was true, they seemed pretty content when they saw the little clanswoman and her . . .trees.xoxomenai /SNORT/ that may as well do it XD. I'll let you fill these two in and reply then. We can get it done tonight o uob!

Kiwi could only stare for a moment, an odd upward twist to his lips imagining the beautifully dressed Conquest lady before him hefting a stout tree. Two no less. Catching himself he blinked, nodding softly. "Then let's hope we don't stumble across any saplings." He smiled. "I think some dry moss from one will do for now."
He began to search around the trees, plucking bits of moss and squirreling them into still more vials. "I want to do this, you know ..." he spoke up after a moment, inclining the vials themselves, and the satchel at his waist. "I'm only a simple colony soldier at the moment, and I enjoy it to no end ... But I want to become a scavenger for the Clan."

Looking about when she felt the eyes of the clansman around her, she felt like she was being sized up a bit, and placed her hands on her hips, taking a deep breath in to look all omnipresent and stronger than she actually was. "It was nothing!" She peeped up, turning her head away as if heroicly, before deflating a bit. "But I think Mengyao helped a lot there. He's so much taller than me, even if he's a silly noble." She admitted, before bending down daintily to pick up some of the moss he was working on.
"I think it's brave of you, knowing what you're striving for." She offered, nodding softly. "I've been working on remembering the stories from when I was younger, as an artisan would. Must preserve what we remember, right?" She murmured out loud, before offering up the items for his satchel.
"If we all work together, it'll make it better, hm?"

Kiwi smiled softly. "Sounds as though the two of you have shared some interesting adventures." It seemed that Lifen and this Mengyao were close, natural for two of the same clan. Especially considering how ... sparse the clans now were. He nodded as she continued. "I've been considering making some paintings of Famine myself ... perhaps some of our battles. ... I-I'm not very great, no Artisan, but it would be something." He paused a moment, mulling the thought before softly, eagerly adding: "I'd love to hear some tales of Conquest. If not now, sometime soon, when the Clan is more established."
Kiwi paused to check his list, and clicked his tongue. "Looks as though a stone slab is now in order." He arched a brow in Lifen's direction, grinning a bit at the irony. "I think Fluffy's help is needed." He smiled to the little dog, before following after it. A moment of scavenging with it's nose through the leaves, it uncovered a round, smooth, not to mention heavy piece of stone. Kiwi frowned a bit at the thought of lugging such a heavy thing out of the forest and back to the reserve. He should have brought Maui with him, the stout Soul Eater could have handled this task easily.
