One curious little pup found herself staring into the clear waters of something cool and shiny. And staring at another puppy. That mimicked her movements. Every ear flick, nose wrinkle, paw lift Rain Song did, her companion in the water did the same. Until she leaned too far forward and her nose broke the surface of the water. A soft yip escaped as she scrambled backwards, tripping over her own feet. Mama had said something about water before. Rain Song just hadn't listened very well. Though to be fair, this was the first time she'd been able to come face to face with Kells Run. Or water of any kind.
Inching forward, Rain Song peered in the water again. And realized she was staring at herself. Her ears perked up and she pawed at the water again. The cool liquid soaked into the fur of her paw as the ripples distorted the image. Rain Song giggled, tail wagging with amusement.

Having wandered from her mama once again, as usual, the young pup was toddling along quite confidently. She'd been on her own before, without any negative run-ins, so she figured nothing all too terrible could happen! A light smile was on her little maw, tail perked upright, twitching to and fro.
Without any real destination in mind, her tiny ears pricked up at the sound of a familiar sound. A yip. She herself knew this little call quite well, due to giving a few of her own on a daily basis. Curious, she followed it, smile broadening with hope of another pup to find. And she was right! Just there, before the large stream she fished in just the other day with Bery and Catfish, was another young wolf! Rump wiggling with excitement, she pranced a little faster, "Hello there!" she yipped merrily.

Still tilting her head in a funny fashion at the water, Rain Song didn't hear the sound of approaching feet. At least not until there was another yip that was not from herself. The pup jumped, startled, twisting around to see who was there. Her ears were alert and her tail erect as blue eyes stared at the wriggling form of another pup. Prancing towards her. And then her foot slipped and she felt a light 'splash' as the cool water soaked her back legs. It pulled another yip out of her.
For a few seconds, Rain Song didn't seem to know what to do. Then her little body trembled as her butt wriggled excitedly. She felt a little shy, but the excitement at meeting a new pup trumped it for now. The pup leaped out of the water as she moved to meet the new pup.
"H-Hello!" She yipped out, padding over before stopping and sniffing at the other pup. Her tail was wagging like a little propeller as her nose twitched. Not someone she knew. "Who...who are you? I'm Rain Song!" She barked, pawing at the air between herself and the other.

Rose Heart's ears perked as the other pup reacted to her call, eyes widening just a touch as those hind legs dipped into the pool of water. Pausing in her advance, she gave a cant of her head, "Are you ok?" she asked, before toddling on to give a few firm sniffs at the other pup. Eventually she pressed her nose to the other females cheek, before backing up a little to grin widely, tail waggling briskly, "I'm Rose Heart!" she yipped back, "Nice ta meetcha, Rainy!" she replied.... dropping that second bit out of habit, "Whatcha doin' over here? Drinkin'? Fishin?" she asked, peering around Rain Song to take a gander at the steam. After all, it had been full of some yummy fish the last time she'd been here!

There was a lapse in attention as Rain Song took a moment to shake her coat out, fur fluffing up briefly before settling. And then she was right back to the wriggling butt and excited puppy with her tongue lolled out to the side, ears perked up and nose wrinkling as she sniffed the other pup. "Yes! Yes, fine." She giggled, head lowering almost bashfully. Just with too much excitement. "M'foot slipped. But okay now!" Rain Song glanced over her shoulder at the water, then back at her new friend. Like the other, Rain Song pressed her nose to the other pup's cheek and gave a light lick to her nose. Then she backed up a step and sat her rump down. "Nice ta meet you too, RoRo!" Okay so she liked throwing in nicknames too.
At Rose Heart's inquiry, Rain Song got up and stepped up to the edge of the stream, looking at it. "I was starin' at my r'flection." She told the other, tail wagging. "Mama said I could see myself in the water, so I was lookin'." Clearly, Rain Song wasn't as experience with venturing out too much yet. Her head tilted curiously at Rose Heart. "Whas....fishin'?"
