Since meeting the rude blue lioness at the edge of the pride's lands weeks before, Amefungwa had been wary of allowing in new members. Shandor had of course been more sensible, and in time she'd found him to be right, as usual. The joining ones were few and far between, and of those that made it to the pride, those that she and he elected to allow in were even less. It was enough for most just to visit and soak in the carnival-like atmosphere for a night or two. Still some decided they would like to stay, and she was forced to meet with them. She'd much rather be out dancing or singing!
She'd heard of another such hopeful waiting for an audience and determined to do it swiftly so that she could rejoin the festivities. After being sure her veil was draped just so, and all her bangles shined, she let herself be led to the edge of the pride to meet this newcomer. "Are you still here? Or have you given up already?"

Darshan had been directed this way from a pair of lionesses who addressed themselves as Bell and Phoenix. An odd practice but he'd heard of worse... His father's pride had been among those cases, and stories of his lineage had been another. Neither he was eager to go into detail about and both he would really rather forget. It was a small shame that the madness had fled, it might have taken his memories out with it.
The young lion was thin and downtrodden with a shaggy black mane and a boney pair of shoulders that rose up out of it. As the brightly colored queen approached he lifted his head and offered a short nod in greeting. "I'm still here...ah...grace? Highness?...Mistress?"
Unfortunately, formality wasn't one of his strong points. Now feeling both silly and awkward, the young male set his jaw and shifted his weight from one side to the other. "...s-sorry... I'm... well my mother lives here. I can't say I'm...new. I've just come back but... I don't remember much from before."

Amefungwa was...slightly amused by the youth's eagerness. Mistress? The title made her chuckle. She was no one's mistress. She'd merely been lucky enough to be 'chosen' for her insanity...right before the goddess left, and her dominion with her. Sheer luck had put her in power, but her jovial nature and willingness to enjoy life alongside her pridemates seemed to have cemented her place atop them. She wouldn't complain, even though at times like this she really would rather be partying than doing the equivalent of desk work.
"Your mother? Well, that changes things." She approached the boy, looking him over. She could see faint similarities to someone else she knew about the pride. The name escaped her just now. "I take it your father doesn't?" Such flings weren't unusual in the Kizingo. Love flowed freely between any who chose to share it, and often cubs surfaced with mysterious parentage. In fact, it had happened to herself as well. "I can't very well turn away a son of my domain. You have blood here. Though I would have your name before I let you in. And your reason for coming back."
