Taking a deep breath a she became aware, Clarice reflexively started the body check. As she took in the height (on the tall side,) skin (lush red, no decay,) and build ( holy s**t,) a slow, terrible smile spread across Clarice's new face. For once, finally, she had gotten the Ferrari. Glancing around the room, happily empty, the huntress wrinkled her nose a bit. On the bright side? It was empty, so the two of them would have a few moments to adjust. The not so bright side was that they obviously hadn't cleaned this changing room in a long, long time. Stepping around a puddle of whoknowswhat, Clarice went to a locker and opened it to see several sets of medical uniforms in varying sizes. Danse-Hexe Spawning time! Clarice is now a 5'11" succubus with red skin and long black hair ~

Reine was not so lucky. The few moments before stepping into the pod, she'd hesitated a little again, albeit not because of the golem; it hadn't set in yet that whatever she'd be getting, she'd have to deal with long-term. There was no going back on her word, though, by this point, and so she whispered a little prayer- that her friends would be safe, and that she would come back to no missing faces- and stepped in.
If there was nothing she could do for them- not directly, anyway, she would at least put her heart and soul into this project she'd been offered- it was only fair.
-----------------------------------------
A sort of strangled scream would greet Clarice the moment Reine took in the fact that her golem was undead. It felt no different from herself being undead, she felt.. cold, at least there wasn't too much decay that she could.. feel, just cold all over.
Slightly miserably she looked over at the monster she assumed was Clarice, a soft, confused whimper escaping her, as if looking for some kind of affirmation or consolation. To top it off, the room seemed perfectly halloween-styled, ie. gross, another reminder of where she was.
Reine just wanted to start work now- god knew she needed the distraction. At the very least she was slowly recovering from the shock, telling herself she needed to remain professional. This was a mission, after all.lizbot 5'5" death knight, pale/whitish skin with a blue tint, black medium-length hair

Clarice startled from checking herself out by the sudden strangled sound, and all Ferrari gloating fell by the wayside. "Oh sweetie," she began, slowly approaching the other hunter with caution, "...it's really not easy to get undead, I know. At least your body looks pretty... together? Why don't you take a seat on the bench, and I'll go over a few things before our escorts get here, kay?" She gave the undead body a measuring look and grabbed another set of clothes out of locker. They were plain white medical scrubs, along with an orange armband with a small white cross on it. "Work clothes, we'll be working with the Boogeymen as part of their Contamination Squad. Not all Boogies know about us, and the arrangement we have set-up, so no matter what, do not talk about it. Don't get comfortable around them over shared secrets, we're undercover now, and we'll need to maintain that as much as possible." Reaching into the locker again, the succubus pulled out two small wallets. Inside, each held a badge and ID. She handed one over to Reine, "Open it and place your thumb over the ID." Doing the same with her own, the ID wavered for a moment and then an image of her appeared on it, along with the name and title: AGENT SINCLAIRE. "We'll be going by last names, easier to remember and respond to. So I'm Sinclaire from here on out, and you'll be Walker." She paused her lecture to glance at the younger woman, and her expression turned sympathetic, "What you said before...I understand, kay? I can't really tell you not to worry, or that everything will be okay. But...let's just do what we can here to make it all worth it, and make sure the people we care about aren't further affected by this."

The look on Reine's face said: why didn't they just die?! A chill ran down her spine, making it feel all the more awkward and cold; trying to pull herself together, the life trainee flopped over on a bench, fidgeting slightly as she attempted to examine her new body.
At least she wasn't.. falling apart. Uuuugh. Taking the clothes from Clarice, Reine scooted over into a corner, attempting to maintain any sort of modesty she could. Maybe this wasn't exactly her own body, but it felt like it.. for now. Pulling on the clothes, she listened closely to the assistant's briefing. If it was an undercover mission, that felt a lot better; they weren't outright working with the enemy, there was probably some sort of agreement in place temporarily, and most likely, Deus was on the side that would benefit more.
It had to be that, didn't it? She couldn't rationalise it any other way. Following Clarice's lead, Reine pressed her thumb over the ID, marvelling at the technology- it felt like a science fiction movie. The spark of glee at seeing AGENT WALKER printed on the card, too, was hardly suppressed- this was cool. The wallet she stowed away safely in a pocket, to make sure she wouldn't lose it.
"Got it." Now the mission had actually started, Reine was feeling better. There were still some nagging doubts, but she'd settled things as best as she could have, and that was pretty much that-- oh. She'd forgotten to text Justin, but he would be.. okay, hopefully, fool's luck and all that.
"Thank you." A small smile spread over the trainee's face at Clarice's words and she took a hesitant step closer to the division assistant, looking shyly at her: half-wanting to give her a hug, but not quite daring to. "I'll do my best, I promise."

The door squealed as it was shoved open, two darkly cloaked figures striding in. "Do your best, huh?" The larger of the two rasped, a reptilian snout sneering from the depths of his hood. "That's precious.""Downright cute, that's what it is! And a Death Knight too!" The smaller creature's voice was high and taunting, a pair of bright blue wings on it's back. "So you two are assigned to Amityville, then?" The first looked the two hunters up and down, nostrils flaring. After a moment, his tongue flicked out to taste the air, and he grinned again. With a frown, Clarice nodded, "I wish I could say it was good to see you two again, but..." "Oh it's Sinclaire! Hey, hey Vek! It's Sinclaire! Maybe if we get lucky she'll lecture us for hours on s**t we don't care about." The small one was practically prancing. Clarice rolled her eyes and sighed, "Walker," she glanced toward Reine, "...this is Vek," she pointed to the reptilian creature, "...and Prinny." The small fairy creature did a little jig that somehow managed to be sarcastic. Clarice sighed again. "Nice tits, by the way." "Don't give us that look, we saw you checking yourself out... two way mirror."Another sigh, and the huntress continued, "We'll be working with them during our investigation."

The two boogeymen were met by a look that was part surprise and part complete mortification as Reine took a step backwards to hide behind Clarice. Anger flared up in her at the sight of the creatures, and not just because they were making fun of her- the sarcasm was obvious, for lack of a better way to put it. Already she wasn't looking forward to having to work with them, and Clarice seemed to agree, the way she was speaking to them.
Keeping gaze stare icy took much more effort than the life trainee had ever imagined; she forced herself to look through them, instead of at them, even when Clarice introduced them. The key point was to stay focused and stay undercover; she had no intention of blowing said cover before the mission even started.
"Got it." Still refusing to look at them, she turned to Clarice and nodded, a slightly desperate look in her eyes- can we go now?
On hindsight it was amazing how she managed to stand Thackery- or even like him, considering all her other interactions with the monsters. Thackery had been so different from them, at least for a while.
At least until he, too, showed his true colours.

The succubus gave Walker a firm nod of approval. While Vek and Prinny were very familiar with their section's relationship with Hunters, that didn't make them any more pleasant to deal with. The less fuel for their barbs and so-called witticisms, the less encouragement by giving them the satisfaction of reactions, the better. Sensing that their fun was done, for now, the two Boogeymen led them out of the changing room and into a long hall. They were in the headquarter's lab wing, which resembled a Victorian mad scientist's paradise much more than the modern, human world, equivalent. Copper pipes, sparking whirligigs, steaming whatsits, and golwing do-dads could be seen in various lab rooms, along with items that very much resembled medeival torture devices. A scream echoed down the hall, indicating that maybe it wasn't just a mere resemblance. At the end of the hall, a door was shut tight, a brilliant blue light sealing it's edges. "Is everything as I requested?" Clarice asked, voice nuetral as they approached. Prinny stuck it's tongue out at her, "Yeah, yeah...your Dweeb got it all set up. If somethin's wrong, blame him!"The larger boogeyman gave a small, rasping laugh, "We did you get you a little something extra, though." He held up his badge to the door and the light intensified and them dimmed. Pushing the door opened he revealed a room right out of the Deus labs, right down to the sterile white lighting and runic equipment. In the center of the room stood a very familiar statue. "So it survived," the succubus practically purred as she walked up to the figure, eyes scanning for damage. Weaving her hands between the stoney tentacles, Sinclaire traced one taloned finger along the inside of the large hole within it's torso. She turned and lifted an eyebrow at the two Boogeymen. "Wasn't us!" "She came that way." Switching her attention to the death knight, "She was there during the last case, and it looks like she didn't destabilize and crumble. Based on the information I gave you earlier, what would you suggest we do here?"
