Delrialto tucked his wings and dove at the first rumble of thunder, shooting down through the clouds with their roiling threat of water. He spiraled toward the ground and then back-winged, searching for a promising place to land and whether the storm. He found himself in a stretch of mountains he wasn't familiar with, but the next crack of thunder told him he didn't have time to be picky. "Well, nothing for it." The stardust-painted wind sighed to himself, dipping lower. There was a stretch of plateau below him that seemed relatively safe, no sharp spikes or rocks threatening him. Deciding it was the best bet, with a cluster of rocks nearby... Perhaps he could find an empty cave there? Tilting a wing he swept down and landed lightly, folding his wings as he trotted across the rocky ground, searching the cliff-face for openings. The first had the scent of cat in it, and since he was alone he had no wish to tangle with a predator. Particularly not in the predator's own den. It just didn't seem like a good idea, so he quickly moved on. The second wouldn't have admitted him even without his wings, though as a colt perhaps he might have been able to make it work. But the third was promising, a slight turn to the opening so the rain didn't penetrate no matter which way the wind turned. Shaking his wings out and folding them comfortably, he peered into the dark space and cautiously entered. "Erm, hello? Sorry, I'm a little lost and it looks about to poor out here... Could I perhaps shelter here awhile?" No harm in being polite, right? And if it was empty, well, then he as talking to no one.

Kelula was enjoying a dark cave all to herself for the moment. Everything was going well, she could hear the thunder out side, and really wished she could go out and see. Though with it threatening to rain, she thought better of it. Her wings weren't meant for the rain, sadly. It wasn't something that totally pleased her, the thought of rain made her rather foul in mood. It didn't help that the moment she was about to make herself comfortable and take a nap, a voice rang out in her cave. How dare someone interrupt her. She didn't catch a word he said.
"What do you want?" She said a little more harshly than she should have. She saw the dark figure at the entrance of her domain.

He probably should have just kept going... Should have flown home to the three prior-generations of his family. But then, it was a longer flight home to the herd-grounds by the river near the teepee of the Shaman... Better yet, flown to his home... That was in a different stretch of mountains, but perhaps he could have made it... Before the rain came down? He cast a glance at the clouds and shifted nervously, looking back into the cave in surprise at the barked reply. Well, this was going well, wasn't it? She couldn't have sounded less thrilled if she'd tried. At least she hadn't tried to eat him yet... But the conversation -such as it was- was young. "Uh, hi, sorry about this..." He murmured. "It's, looking a little rough out here. I was in the middle of my flight home, or at least to friendly shelter, but it doesn't look like I'm going to make it. Rather than chancing a kiss of lightning, I was wondering if you'd let me shelter here just until it looked like I had enough clear-sky to make it home safe?" He shifted nervously again, wings fluttering. "I really do hate to intrude, but getting zapped or getting pushed into a cliff by the wind... Neither of those appeal to me." He laughed nervously.

Kelula wasn't thrilled with this at all. She eyed him with her orange glowing eyes before moving closer towards the opening. She wasn't completely heartless, her father and mother had taught her better than that. Even if her brother was a bit rude with others, however. She snapped her teeth together out of habit. "I suppose I have room." She said rudely, but welcoming in her mind.
"As soon as it's over, you are to leave." It wasn't a question, it was a demand. Of course, she wasn't going to linger here long after the weather changed either. So it wasn't really that big of a deal. She just stumbled upon this place recently. She would enjoy going out in the storm, if it wasn't the fact her wings weren't very good wet. If only there was a storm with just thunder and lightning and no rain.
Her wings fluttered as she came into view better. "Suppose you'd want food as well, I have a half eaten rabbit in the back." Of course, she wasn't sure if he could eat that or not. Was one thing she didn't enjoy being part Kalona. She didn't quite enjoy killing things. But it was that or starve. She tried eating hay once, and it just didn't settle with her. Made her very sick.

"I really don't mean to be a bother." Delri murmured imploringly, his wings drooping slightly. "I just... You know, bad luck today." What else could he say? 'Sorry I'm an idiot but not enough of an idiot to think I can outfly this storm or keep my wings when it runs me over?' Heh, not likely. That was more Uncle Aureate's speed of things, and Delri knew better than to follow his lead... Even if his aerial stunts were beyond impressive... Ok, so, she was annoyed but at least moderately sympathetic to his plight. That was good, great even. "Not a problem at all, Lady of the Mountains." He murmured in his best gentlemanly-tone. "I am grateful for the shelter as long as you offer it, and as soon as the weather has passed I will once again be on my way." He blinked in surprise when more of her came into view, the vague glimpse of fiery eyes giving way to curling horns and glittering markings. The wings were also intriguing, he'd never meet one of her likeness before. Unwilling to be caught staring, he coughed when she offered a meal, and bowed his head. "Thanks much to you, dark lady." He murmured. "Most kind, but I must decline the offer. Please, don't let me keep you from your meal." He'd seen Kalona feed before, it wouldn't bother him... In fact, as long as he wasn't the main course, he was all for it.
