Delrialto spiraled down out of the mid-afternoon sun, searching for a place to land near the mountains that sprawled beneath him. Above and around was nearly endless blue, scattered with puffs of white cloud. Below sprawled dark gray stone teeth, reaching skyward as though they wished for a taste of him, and then a forest of shadows beyond. It was a perfect day. A perfect day for running, or flying, or spending time with friends... He'd done the first, and now the second, and with any luck maybe he'd have a chance at the third as well. "Stone or shadow, stone or shadow?" He mused as he back-winged and made a lazy, gliding circle. "Stone, I think." Spying a likely enough landing area, Delrialto tucked his wings and stretched out his forelegs, reveling in the speed of his falcon-like dive. Leaving the endless empty blue behind for the sake of the air closer to the tree-tops at the base of the mountains, the young stallion whistled his fierce glee at the freedom of flight. As the rock ground swept closer he swerved and spread his wings, banking into a more gentle pace that ensured a smooth landing. Cantering a half-dozen strides toward the mountains themselves, Delrialto fluttered his wings one last time and then folded them to his back, shaking himself from nose to tail. Properly arranged and safely on the ground, he glanced about his surroundings in interest. "Now then... What fun can we have?"

Kanic looked at the shadows from the mountains and knew it was early afternoon. He had spent most of the morning wandering the mountain side, taking off every now and again to some warmer air above. He enjoyed the warmth, and preferred the summer months because of the heat, especially lower on the mountains.
As he landed on this trip, he noticed another stallion land down at the base of the mountains. He couldn't see the stallion clearly, but something about this stallion drew him in. He wanted to get a closer look, so he lept of the edge of the rock and took a faint glide down to the earth below, honing in on the stallion. Just as he landed, Kanic's 'eye' made a quick pass right in front of him. Kanic use his nose to give his 'eye' a little nudge away so he could get a clear shot.
Kanic looked at the stallion, then back at himself. Two or three times he did this, comparing the markings. They were very similar markings, and Kanic was intrigued by this. He walked over to the stallion. "Hey." he said, trying to get the stallions attention.

After landing Delri stretched, reveling in the sun over his back and feathers and the brisk exercise. He hummed to himself and pawed the ground, nosing at a cluster of flowers nearby. His long mane flowed over his face for a moment, obscuring his vision until he straightened and shook it away. Hearing a fluttering sound of wings he searched the sky before him, realizing the stranger would land closer to the mountains that stood at his back. Blinking in surprise at the casual greeting, he turned with a toss of his forelock and grinned. Not someone he was familiar with, but maybe a new friend? "Hello." He returned easily, blue eyes glimmering over his stardust-scattered facial markings. "Sorry if this is your territory, I didn't mean to intrude. Was just out for a flight." He considered the other's wings with interest and perhaps envy, flaring one of his own. "You know how it is, I hope? Anyway, I, uh, I'll get out of your hair if this is your home."

Kanic rustled his wings allowing the to fold and fall smoothly at his sides. He 'eye' fluttered a bit before calming down to hover right at his right side. At the sight of this, he felt assured that he was in no danger. Just then he heard the stallion speak.
"Nah, s'not my territory, I just aint use'd to seein others.... ' he paused. The stallions markings caught his eyes, and he began studying them once again. "You don have to leave. I'm Kanic" he said as he walked a bit closer.

With another impressed glance to the wings, Delrialto moved his attention to the hovering eye, blinking as he considered it. When it seemed to settle rather than fly at him -which he was momentarily concerned about, he had to admit- he relaxed slightly and his attention drifted to the stallion's similar markings. Under his eye, and then starting behind his ears and continuing down his neck, just like Delri's. The only difference was that Delrialto's were more extensive, but there was still a similarity there. "Ahh, that's good." Delrialto relaxed further, half-smiling. "I'd hate to think I'd landed dead in the middle of someone's home... It would be quite rude, wouldn't it? Sorry to interrupt your solitude then, at any rate. Nice to meet you Kanic, I'm Delrialto. Delri works just as well."

Kanic could tell that the newly met stallion was a bit leary of his 'eye'. "Dont need to worry about that," he said, referring to his 'eye', "He can't to nothing to ya." Kanic reassured. He glanced over once again at his 'eye', gave it a small wink and a smirk. Kanic was still standing up on a rocky ledge about 3 feet off the ground. He decided to hop down to get a bit closer to the stallion, where he could see the marking much clearer.
"Nah, you didn't interrupt anything, just been flying around this afternoon." Kanic replied, "But I do live up here." Kanic was growing more and more curious about the stallion and his markings. They were way to similar to be just a coincidence, but he figure he'd get more into that in a bit. "So Delri, what brings you around here. I dont believe I have ever seen you around here." Kanic asked.

The strange 'eye' darted here and there before coming to a halt, and Delri relaxed when it stopped. He restlessly made a few mincing steps with his fore-hooves, lifting them and then placing them down again, a slight dance that made little more difference than a shiver of his mane. He flicked his tail with one more glance to the eye, then nodded as he accepted the stallion's word. "Just, curious." He answered honestly. And yes, it was a little odd but that wasn't something you said to someone you just met. And it was only odd because he'd never seen it before, but that wasn't much to go by. He watched Kanic as Kanic watched him, tilting his head slightly. When the stallion jumped down, he inched back slightly, snorting. "Oh, me too, just flying... Though this is a little north of my home, I tend to go east or south most of the time... I decided to check out this area, something new to do and see." He shrugged, half-smiling. "Brings me? Chance? A bit of luck I guess. My usual haunt in the east wasn't as interesting without the proper company, so I decided to see what was to be found out this way. Glad I didn't interrupt or bother you, it really wouldn't have been intentional. I like the mountains pretty well, so it seemed a good enough idea."

As the stallion spoke, Kanic felt that Delri was still being cautious and was unsure. Kanic felt a little annoyed, after all he had given the stallion his word. he wondered a bit why the hesitation there, but decided to let it go for now. "Hopefully he'll gain my trust soon" he thought to himself.
"This is a nice area to hang out, after all, I do call it home." he said. "I do like to venture away every now and again though, so I see why you'd want to explore a little more." Kanic continued. "Do you have any particular plans for the day?"

Delri tilted his head curiously as he listened to the stallion, permitting himself a slight smile and a chuff of amusement. "Home? Aha! So I am intruding." He teased gently, shifting on his hooves and grinning. Well, he hadn't been attacked yet, so he might as well relax a bit right? No sense in acting like a stiff-wing. "Nope, no plans really... Most of my companions find themselves scattered to the four winds today, with no sign of reassembling. So I'm a bit at odds myself, and here we are." He huffed a soft exhale, flicked his tail, and decided to push his luck a bit. "How about you? About to 'venture' out?"

Kanic Listened as the stallion responded. He could tell that the stallion was calming down a bit, and this is when Kanic felt more comforted, and ready to be himself more. Kanic was always a stallion who would stir up trouble, and in many cases, he was a bit intimidating, and he liked to show that a bit, so he sat quiet for a few moments, wondering if he might cause to much fear and even more intimidation in new pal.
"Do I look like I wanna adventure?" he asked, mostly with a smile and a grin, showing signs that he was still playful.

The Wind stallion had the fortune to meet quite a few other winds, grounds, some Kalona, and the mixes that follow in the wake of those same sort. He'd even seen what he believed was some kind of flutter, though she was also Kalona and seemed more moth than butterfly... Well, Delri hadn't questioned her too much. She was the intimidating sort.
But this was a different kind of wind, Kanic was... In a way he reminded Delri of Avant, but, not quite the same. Then again, he was somewhat like Delri, with his markings and such... Maybe a far-distant cousin? But his lighter colors were vaguely familiar, like the character in one of his family's stories... So many questions came from wondering!
Delrialto snorted, chuckling under his breath as he resettled his wings and shook off his wandering thoughts in favor of the current conversation. Did Kanic seem like he wanted to adventure? Mockingly, the shades of gray Wind paced a lazy line back and forth, making a point of craning his head to eye the stallion as if in speculation. "Well..." He drawled thoughtfully. "You seem like the sort that is probably always up for something, I think. It's one of my qualities, so I tend to recognize it in others."
He grinned teasingly.

Kanic stared intently as the other stallion seemed to silently question Kanic and himself, wondering what he might be thinking. There seemed to be a bit of hesitation before coming up with any answer. "Well, do I?" he asked, provoking a quicker answer. "Or maybe you dont really know if YOU are up for an adventure!" he snorted for a minute.
Shortly after, Delri responded. "Well Kudos," Kanic replied. It probably sounded a bit more snarky than he had intended though, "Glad you could see through me!" Kanics "eye" fluttered as he was replying, probably trying to tell him to not be such a jerk. As soon as his "eye" got close enough, Kanic gave it a bit of a nudge. "So, where do you wanna go?"

With a snort and a faint shake of his head, Delri cast off his wonderings and wanderings for the moment, giving the stallion a sheepish look. "Apologies for that... Mind wandered."
The sharp look and tone from the other stallion didn't bruise him much, just made Delri reluctant to crack too many jokes less the stallion take offense. Those would be better served for later, if there even was a later. "Always up for an adventure, what have you in mind? Diving into the heart of Kalona territory for a graze? Plunging off the cliffs into sea to visit the Soquili-Beneath-The-Waves? It's all good fun."
He snorted and pinned an ear, flicking his tail. "I wouldn't go that far." He demurred. "You don't seem like the sort to be transparent unless it suits you."
