It was fast, but Harrison was faster. He switched to a stabbing hold, and plunged both swords into the wiry, fox-like body.
The creature scattered the second the blades hit it.
HEHEHEEHEHEHEEHEE ~PYON!, B0nez shrieked with delight.

A fograt skittered past.
It was satisfying to wind up B0nez like a golf club, and rip right through it. The rat exploded into about a million particles.
The deck itself was mostly cleared of fog, although something shifty was lurking in one of the corners. Harrison set his shoulders and powered after it, B0nez sharp and hungry in the back of his mind.
"Come on out and get it over with, ~PYON!"

The rat made the attempt to get out, scurrying up a table leg.
Harrison crushed it satisfyingly with B0nez's hilt, hearing the back pop and crunch before it exploded too.
B0nez was crackling with electric energy, his voice reaching a maddening pitch.

With the deck clear, that meant Harrison could move on to the bridge. Something hulking and rotted was squatting on it.
The glow of its eyes were pinpricks in the fog.

"What's that? ~PYON! You want to know who's trapping on your bridge ~PYON?" Harrison asked, as the creature stirred and snarled, then bulldozed towards him with an ugly roar.

He was mid-way across the bridge, when he heard a terrible shrieking sound. The ground shook, and he almost got knocked right off into the water as the giant bird swooped past, ripping at his chest and face.
Great. Just what he needed.
"Listen, feathershit ~PYON! I'm going to send you somewhere you won't be coming back ~PYON!"
As it swooped back around, Harrison took a swing. The Phoenix shrieked again. It was better than the crack of a ball and bat.

The bird got another hit in, and Harrison rolled towards the island itself. It was more careful after that first hit, and Harrison sliced through one of its legs. There was a burst of foggy feathers.
What he'd wanted to do was split it tail to beak.
"You heard me, ~PYON!" B0nez was still lit up, and they were both high on the buzz.
"GET DOWN HERE, ~PYON!"

SYSTEM CHECK, B0nez demanded impatiently, THEN LET'S SHOW IT THE MEANING OF HIGH PERFORMANCE.
He lay the flat of the blade against his forearm, and eyed the Phoenix as in pinwheeled threatening in the sky. There was the usual sharp jolt of electricity- then...in spite of the pain, he didn't feel any clearer-
