Freya knew exactly what she was going to do today to make her Herryk feel better. She had a plan! It was a good plan, if she thought about it for long. She was going to go out, with her wicker basket in hand, and collect all the prettiest flowers and nicest smelling herbs she could find. She would intertwine them all together, and make Herryk a lovely wreath to hang in his room, to give it a touch of vibrant color and some sweet smells to bring him peace. So she donned some warm clothes and headed off into the shallower ends of the forest, somewhere safe so she wouldn't be in danger, but still deep enough to be filled with exotic plants to pick. And there she skipped, stopping every so often to pick out a pretty poison ivy, or a lovely bloom of some unknown variety. She placed it gently in her basket, and continued searching for just the perfect blend of flowers and herbs.
She would probably end up coming back with a ridiculous mix of things, because Freya had no idea what flowers and herbs worked well together, but the point was that she tried.

Gargantuan was deciding that some flowers tasted better than other flowers. His enormous mouth was very good for scooping up...well, all of the dirt, as well as the floor, and he was chomping away quite happily. As a result, his face was covered in dirt, and it was only when he heard the sounds of someone rustling around in the forest that his ear fins twitched with surprise. Gargantuan practically exploded out of the brush to take a peek, spraying flowers every which way. "Hullllooooooooooo." He boomed, his tail ripping up small shrubs as it frantically wagged back and forth.

As delighted as she was to hear the rustle of someone nearby, Freya's entire basket fell to the ground when G stormed through the brush, and her wings flourished behind her as she prepared to take flight. "ACH, ODIN'S GHOST, IS A JOTNAR! BACK YEH BEASTIE, 'FORE I SLAYS YEH WITH MA.. huh." She paused before summoning her weapon, as she stared at G's tail. She knew that wag. Furthermore, the look on his face did not signify anger. Instead, it had an innocence that belied his huge form. That, coupled with his excitedly wagging tail, made Freya give pause.
"Well now.. yehr not here teh eats me, are yeh ma big boil?" She asked tentatively, her hand still held out and ready to summon her scythe at any moment. The slightest aggressive move would have her ready to fight, but until then, she just waited on the balls of her feet, carefully assessing the big green monster in front of her.

Ohh, fluffy things! G remembered those fluffy things on her back! She'd been on one of the field trips, hadn't she? Gargantuan tilted his head from side to side for a moment, having perplexed himself by trying to remember. Of course, the shouting and her funny accent made his mouth fall open with glee, and the tip of his tail was now having a seizure. She sounded funny!
"Ooh," Said G when he realized her hand was out, and he scrambled forward so he could butt his head against her palm with a happy rumble of sound. "G eatin' flowers, not pretty lady." He reassured her with a puff of breath, grinning at her... and, well, there were flowers and twigs and dirt all stuck between those big teeth.
Unfortunately, the concept of personal space was still something that the monster struggled with, and he was snuffling curiously at her long hair with interest. "You shiny!"

The scramble froze her in place, but it didn't frighten her - and G was a fortunate soul, in that his new acquaintance had no issues with lack of personal space. Living in one room with 8 other sisters tended to do that to you.
His head butted into her hand, and she giggled, patting him with gently moving fingertips. "Ach, yehr just a sweet thing.. yeh seems familiar. Have I seens yeh before?" She thought she would have remembered someone like - G, he called himself, if he was speaking the way Herryk spoke. The sad reality was, that entire trip had been all but blocked from her mind, trauma wiping it out and keeping her from delving deep into the darkness that everyone's mind seemed to be wallowing in lately. She giggled a second time when he sniffed at her hair, and wrapped her arms around his neck to give him a hug. She reminded him somewhat of her father, in his size and the way he kept close. "I use herbal conditioners!" She responded to his compliment in explanation. "It smells like strawberries. Yehr funny, G. I likes yeh. I'm Freya, by the by. And yeh've got somethings in yehr teeth."
Not that she was going to pick it out, mind.

A good smack upside the head with a scythe might have taught him some manners, so he was fortunate that Freya was sort of used to things all up in her grill. "Ya! Well... G dunno for sure, but G think so! Was in house." A bad house. His fins flattened at that, and he shook his head to basically keep those thoughts from taking hold. The embrace was an unexpected surprise, and G wrapped his thick arms around her tiny form with delight in return, hauling her up in the air so he could better cuddle his new, feathery friend. "G likes Freya too! Freya nice."
He would have blinked if he had eyes, his tongue absently flopping about in his mouth as he tried to see just what was in his teeth. He managed to dislodge some of the foliage, crunching at it happily before he carefully set the Reaper girl back on her feet.
"Strawberries tasty?" He asked curiously, hunching down so he could be face-to-face with her.

Freya squealed in happiness when he picked her up and flung her around - she was used to the affections of large, overboisterous boils, and reacted fondly because of it. When he tried to clean out his teeth, she looked away, because it was gross, but when he leaned down to be face to face with her, her bright face looked right back up at him, and nodded with a smile. "Mm! Ja! Strawberries, they are very tasty, very sweet, I loves them. One of my favorites! My only wish is that one day, someone makes teh strawberry flavored beef jerky.. ahh, so guud.." Her eyes glistened in a dazed, far away glance. "So whatchyeh doings out here alone today G?" Tsunake aaaa crappy post-surgery post is crappy <3

Gargantuan was not used to someone so pretty who didn't have scales or fangs or gills, and quite honestly, any normal monstrous attribute. He wasn't sure he knew what strawberries were, either, but they sounded tasty, and he knew that beef was tasty.... so if you put them together, that would be delicious! He could feel himself salivating at the thought, and he absently used the back of his arm to wipe at his jaws.
"G lookin' for things to eat!" He informed her gladly, because he was always hungry, and there were lots of tasty things he could snap up and swallow down outside of school grounds. That included some minipets that people let wander astray... "What's Freya doin' out here? Why you not fly?"
Then again, even if he had wings, he wasn't sure he would be very comfortable with the thought of flying...Nio Love da most amazin' post-surgery post

The question made Freya light up, her face blooming with happiness. "Ach, I am searchings too, but not for eatings!" She held up her basket. "I was goings teh collects some flowers and pretty plants teh makes a wreath for my beloved Herryk, he has not been feelings very happy lately and I wants teh does what I cans teh helps. So I walks, and I picks!" Unfortunately, since there was almost nothing in her basket yet, Freya had not had too much luck. "But yeh knows, if we look hards enough, maybe we gets lucky and finds some strawberry patches. We has teh looks really hard, they are close to teh floors so is easy teh miss, hah?" She reached out and took G's hand. "Yeh wants teh comes with me? We looks for things for yeh teh eats, and maybe some things we puts in my basket for the wreath, hah?"
