Hotza looked around. She was gathering up some fruit for the crewman, or she was. As she searched for the fruit that the pirates liked she found herself going further and further from her home. She was sure that she could find her way back. The sun was starting to come down and she realized she wasn't quite sure where she was. She wasn't too far from the ocean. The sound of waves hitting the beach was loud. She made a pile of the fruit she had gathered and decided to figure out where her home was than head back. When she reached the beach she saw a brightly colored lion just laying in the grass. She looked at him with some concern. Quickly she looked around and saw no one about. Quietly she made her way over to him. She couldn't help but wonder if the lion was okay. He was quite large, much larger than her. She put a paw on him and gave him a push in hopes of waking him up. "Excuse me," she said. "Sir, are you awake? Do you need any help?"

Aureo 's morning had been interesting to say the least. Because of the heat, and perhaps some herbs he probably shouldn't have eat, he had started having hallucinations. This lead him on a chase. Earlier he was relaxing, but than he looked over his shoulder. His father, was standing there, glaring down at him as if he had done something terribly wrong. Aureo really didn't want to explain himself to his father so he decided to get away from him instead. He never stopped and wondered why his father was in the rogue lands. At the time it didn't seem very important.

As he ran away from his father he accidentally tripped over a root. He came tumbling down the hill and onto the beach. For a moment he just laid there. Than when he was sure he was fine he got up and went to the ocean. He wanted a drink of water. The moment his tongue touched the water he realized something was wrong with it. He heard a crack in the forrest and looked over at it. His father was standing there, just as massive as ever. His eyes looked at him with disappointment.

Aureo realized there was no escaping his father. He would just have to get away from him just like he did last time. Suddenly Aureo collapsed to the ground and didn't move. He would just lie there till his father left. It worked before. Why wouldn't it work now. He didn't know how long he was lying there. It felt like days. He didn't move though. He was sure his father was still there staring down at him. It was till he heard a female voice talking that he realized it wasn't his father talking to him. He turned over and looked into the cool eyes.

“Oh thank goodness! I thought you had died.” Hotza said still looking at the male with concern. She wasn't sure what she would have done if he was dead. It would have been a new experience for her, that's for sure. “Are you okay? If you need any medical assistance I can run and get you some help. That is if I can find my pride again.”

Aureo looked up at her and grinned. “Nah. I should be fine.” He stood up and shook the sand off his body. Out of the corner of his eye he glanced to see if his father was still around. He started to wonder if his father had really been there or if it had all been his imagination. Either way he should be cautious. It wasn't hard to imagine his father tracking him down in the rogue lands to bring him back to their pride. He just hoped that his father still thought he was dead so he wouldn't have to worry about that. “Do you know anywhere I can get some water at? I'm parched.”

Hotza nodded her head. “There is a stream near by. I'll show you.” She led the way. “My name is Hotza by the way. It is very nice to meet you.” She looked back at him and grinned. He seemed to be doing alright. She had just assumed he was hurt because he was lying there motionless. It was odd behavior in her opinion, but she didn't think too much about it. If he wanted to talk about it he would.

“Hotza huh? My name is Aureo,” he said grinning at her. They reached the creek and Aureo took a couple large gulps of water. It was very refreshing for him. To him it felt like days since he had fresh water. Once he was done he looked back at Hotza. “Hotza, I was wondering if you knew of a pride called Maestros Del Mar? I have been looking for it for some time now. I've heard stories about it, about the great adventures the crewman have. How brave their captains are. Ever since I heard about the pride all I wanted to do was join it, I just want to be a pirate.”

Hotza let out a laugh. Aureo looked at her with confusion. “Hey! Don't laugh at my my dream,” he told her. “It's a good dream. To be an adventurer, what more can someone ask for.”

“I am sorry, truly I am. I am not laughing at your dream. I am laughing at your luck. I am part of the Maestros Del Mar pride. I am a Corsair for the pride. I would be more than happy to take you there. To join though you have to either bring in a trinket of value or steal something of value from another creature,” she explained. Since she was new herself she had learned a lot of the rules. Aureo didn't seem to have any personal items of value that she could tell.

“Hm well that's interesting. I have never taken something for another. I guess I should learn though, after all I will be doing it a lot more now. “Guess now I need to find someone to steal from. I will see you when I come back Hotza. Maybe you can show me around when I get back.” He turned away from her, heading deeper into the forrest.

Hotza watched as he left. There was something about him that made her happy. Some pirates only cared about their treasure, but this lion was different. His true love was for the journey. He didn't seem violent either. Once he was a fair distance away from her she let out a sigh and bolted toward him. “Wait up! Wait up! I am coming too!” She called after him. This was it. This would be her first real adventure. Aureo stopped and waited for her.

“Why are you coming. You have a job to do don't you? You wouldn't want to spend your time with an old adventurer like me would you?” Aureo said with a laugh. “Bet there are loads of young pirates at your home, just wishing that you would go on a little adventure with them.”

“Maybe. But I would rather go with you. You're different from them and I find that interesting. I just want to travel with you for a little bit. I will do my chores when I get back. It's alright.” She said.

He laughed. “Alright. If you insist.” As he traveled with his new companion deeper and deeper into the woods he couldn't help but feel someone was still watching him. He could swear that in the corners of his eyes he could see his father looming over him, just waiting for him to make a mistake.
