After his return from the Isles, it had all been a bit of a struggle for Thackery to keep his chin up and his thoughts optimistic. The Insanity appeared to have wandered away from him a little earlier than it had for other students, something for which he was very grateful, but it did nothing to keep everything in Amityville feeling 'okay'. There were plenty of things to do to get everything back to normal, of course: baking in the QuesyBake, spending time with Ash, properly spoiling his pets...

But he hadn't properly checked up on Tomoko yet. Though he'd texted a quick 'hey r u ok' upon his return, that hardly counted. He had to make a visual confirmation here.

"Oh! Hey!" he chimed, waving cheerfully to Jove. "Did you come to do study-stuff with Tomo too? I hope it's gonna be fun and helpful. Because I could use some of both..." he trailed off before offering a determined little nod to the other pup.

Jove was a little surprised to see Thackery approach, but his reaction was hardly more than a blank stare with a slight ear perk. It made sense, Thackery was Tomoko's friend, and she had always seemed to think more friends lead to more merriment. Or whatever that phrase was.

Not that Jove minded the extra company. He returned the greeting with a quick, silent tail wag, and the comments with a nod of his own. Fun and helpful, yes. Jove hoped so as well, although his idea of 'helpful' was more tied up in the success of feeling less weird than improving his grades.

His thoughts, if he had any at all, were interrupted as Tomoko let loose the bakekitsunes and proceeded to deliver mandatory hugs to both boils. The little ghost was a proper gentleman and didn't flinch. He might have even tried to awkwardly return the hug, in his own childish, unpractised manner, had Tomoko not already moved on.

Jove wouldn't admit it, but he did try to covertly watch how the other canine handled the interaction. Thackery might have acted more like a puppy, what with playing his own games of fetch and all, but he certainly had better people skills!
