User Image The red and white striped guardian shuddered and wrangled his hands nervously infront of him, and gave a soft whimper. His Mistress had snapped at him, something that has never happened to little Spoof before.
The little guardian was very un-easy with the creepy town in which Macchiato has been spending so much time, so un-easy in fact the guardian had refused to go there, something unheard of amongst the guardians.
In the end, Macchiato had accepted the guardian's choice, but had ignored Spoof's cries and pleading for her to stay here.
She would not hear it. She liked the town, and Samael. He was interesting. He...understood her.

Finally free from Spoof's warnings and pleadings, Macchiato made her way down the familiar path would take her to the Town. Last time Samael had 'shown' her most of the Town, and she had quite enjoyed it all. She enjoyed the feel of the town, it was chilling but it soothed her, it seemed to caress her.
"Almost asssss seven nine good asssss cheesssse" she said to herself, and then burst out in her barking/cackling laugh, and then just as abruptly as she started, she stopped and tilted her head to the side, her black ears swiveling as she tried to focus on a distant sound.
Whether she was unable to, or her attention merely faded, she carried on her journey.
A few feet from the Town she stopped again and 'looked' down at her feet. She wiggled her large black claws and had the suspicion the fog that followed Samael, was around her feet.
"Mosssst peculiar" She muttered to herself.

He spoke of tortured souls
So outrageous the toll
You could lose all you have
He refused to give in to the town that takes all

There had been a fresh crispness in the air, the fog laid in it's smoky blanket along the streets heavier than it usually did. Not that this sort of occurrence wasn't necessarily normal, usually when it had, a new being was approaching. A new lost soul that this place had called to, to come and attempt to reconcile of their sins. Samael couldn't necessarily hope that such was what was happening, it had been a good while since he had been able to 'lead' the lost, the broken, the insane. Many souls had he seen come and die on the streets and in the buildings as they searched for what they had been looking for amongst the monsters that plagued them so. It was always quite...Amusing to see, only once had a being come not by his own sins. A man in search of his young daughter, a girl that he remembered well. A girl who continued to remain, manifesting and keeping the curse alive. In essence, keeping him alive.

The only other being that had come other than these souls, another like him. Another lost one searching, one that Samael himself had grown a certain fondness for in their time with one another. It was so strange, since the only one he had possessed any sort of feelings for was Alessa. What was so special about Machiatto that had drawn him to her, possibly since she in a way was like him? He wasn't sure despite his continuous ponderings after her leaving only with the promise to return.

He believed her.

There was a certain essence of honesty about her, an honesty that was so rarely encountered in a place such as this despite the brutally cryptic honesty that this place as well as he gives, hers though...Was a more innocent sort of honesty. It was a breath of fresh air so to speak, he enjoyed it and merely enjoyed her company. This place hadn't wanted to claim her as it's own, it merely embraced her. It was as though God herself was giving him her blessing in allowing her to come and go as she pleased. It was a pleasant surprise, which really had come in to few and far between.

Soft thuds of the pads of his paws underneath the cracked and dirtied pavement rose up into his ears as he walked his way toward the main entrance of the town leading toward the dirt road down to the cemetery on down. He had been expecting a visitor.

After spending a good few moments wriggling her toes in the fog, she finally carried on with her journey. Her thoughts travelled to Samael, he was so unusual. Or maybe it was her that was unusual. Or maybe they were together, an unusual pair?
She couldnt tell for sure, but more importantly, she wasnt overly concerned, she enjoyed time with Samael, when she was around him, she felt....sure.

That wasnt something the scattered nightmare was used to really. And through spending time with Samael, she even discovered what her ability is, something she has never known in all her years. She felt different around him, and it was a different that she enjoyed.

She knew she was changing, Macchiato could feel it somewhere deep within, and another part of her was curious as to know how she were changing. But she figured she would know in due time, so Mac wasnt too concerned with it at this moment.

For now, she made her way along the road into the Town, her large paws sounding the way, as she made now attempt to quiet her approach. She rose her nose to the wind, her forked tongue flicking out of her pink maw, she could feel him.

"M'dear, i feel you...." she said as she padded her way ever closer to him.

For what sort of company that he could feel whom was coming, he all-together wasn't sure what sort who would arrive. Would it be another whom this place had called to? Or would it possibly be the other like him like she had promised? He had found himself hoping it to be the latter of the two, which was even more odd in itself. He truly enjoyed the duty that he had been entrusted to him after all of these past years, had encountered so much and caused so much. He had broken down spirits, led to revelations and death. However now, he craved something more. Something more for himself.

Quite possibly this time, he had found it even though he hadn't thought that it would be possible. Not with he being the manifestation that he was, nor with another quite as...Innocent.

Raising his head to sniff at the air as the wind begun to blow, his own forked tongue slithered from his bloodied maw when the familiar taste fell onto his taste buds. She was close, so she had kept her promise after all. Sitting on the dirt just outside of the town with his tails flicking only slightly, he waited.

Ahhh, he was so close now!

Macchiato's own tails swayed behind her, as his scent strengthened, and the familiar comfort encircled her. Soon enough, she turned the corner and although she could not see with her eyes, she knew he was there before her.

Like a mother know's her young is in harm, like a bear knows when winter approaches, she knew he was there like...like...she knew there was cheese in the fridge. Cheese. She stopped in her tracks and cantered her head to the side. Was there cheese in the fridge? Or did she eat that cheese. Did the cheese refil itself, like it always did, or was it really all gone this time?

...If she wasnt sure about the cheese, maybe she wasnt sure about Samael being there. That thought disturbed her, made her frown even. But, she slowed down her cheese driven mind, and focused on that..that..sense. That sense that just knew he was there. It wasnt like hearing, or taste. It was almost...instinctual.

With her renewed faith in her sense she approached a few more steps towards Samael, and was now but a few feet from him, her tails swayed behind her happily.

"Sssssamael m'dear. Could i nine seven one, hope it issss myssself you are waiting for?" She asked with her head tilted to the side slightly, there was a trace of hope in her tone, and she realized then, that she did hope it was her he was waiting for.

If not, this moment would fast approach awkward....

Her scent was growing stronger with each passing moment, drawing closer. He had at least hoped that he himself hadn't lost his mind like he had so many others had here, though it would have been just as well if he had despite there already being the high chance that he himself was insane regardless. This place had such an effect, in a way, always had. It may have been because of this place being built on a sacred burial ground, or perhaps it was because of the local lore and beliefs, or quite possibly the cult? He wasn't sure, it was a matter that he so rarely thought about. It wasn't a necessary matter, not for him at least. He had been born and grown up there, it was merely a normal occurrence. That's all it was, he had grown to come to expect it.

His ears perked at the soft pads along the dirt, drawing closer toward him. He could feel the curl fall upon his maw, getting up himself as she spoke. She hadn't sounded sure, though hopeful. Part of her charm he supposed, one without sin unlike himself.

A quiet chuckle rang from his maw, padding forward so he was in front of her not long after. "It would appear assss though you are the one I had been waiting for m'dear. I had thought the air had sssshifted."

Awkward moment averted. She was indeed talking to him and not a tree, and he was waiting for her.

Macchiato's tails continued their contented swaying behind her, and she breathed a sigh of relief, having been unknowingly holding her breath at his answer.
Most unusual, but she shook it off to process later.

She inclined her head, and realized she had a subtle urge to touch him, to have some sort of contact with him. Again, that was most unusual for her, and she was almost relieved when it passed, having been so startled by it.

When she finally felt like she was 'herself' again she stood beside Samael "I promissssed i would return m'dear. Seven nine one one, i alwayssssss keep to my word." she tilted her head again " Even without my word, i would ssssstill return here, to thissssss town, and to you. Seven eleven. I find both....intruiging"

Samael couldn't help but be a little surprised while at the same time now with her answer. So she had kept her promises? That alone was intriguing, after all, promises held so standing there. She would learn soon enough if she chose to stay, this place that takes all save for the likes of them. He couldn't understand how she had grown to be as innocent as she was, despite how delightful it was in a way. His tails flicked if only slightly, the fur barely brushing against the fur of her own tails.

"I ssssee, how issss it that I am intriguing?" He asked with the calmness laced in his tone much like the cover of the fog, smooth and cool. Padding back through the fog until busted, dirty concrete streets came back into view once again. He was curious about that sort of question as as her reasoning behind her thought process. She truly was an odd one, though was a much different type than the usual others that he had come into contact with.

Despite the fact their tails barely touched, a shiver still ran along her spine and she let out a soft 'coo'. For a few moments, she just relished in the brief feeling, and when enough time had passed, she returned to the now.

Macchiato padded along beside him, and at his question, she tilted her head "How? Seven. Nine. That isssss not a quesssstion i can anssswer m'dear, for it issss the thingssss i do not know, that intruige me" she said with a nod. Her mind worked in mysterious ways, but it was indeed the things she did not know about him, that interested her. "You are unlike anyone i have ever enctountered, One one. I enjoy you" she simply stated.
