Tonight, We Are Young So I Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ A soft crunch could be heard as laced patterned paws pressed down upon the small snow bank that was gathered in front of her good sized bachelor den. This was her first winter on her own and in her own den. She had to remain vigilant. For now a sharp nose would keep to the chilly wind that slid over the small hill not far from the edge of the forest. If she wanted to keep this den as her own, she had to guard it from wandering rivals.
Her ears swiveled as she listened to the icy wind whip through the trees and echo through the forest. This was no doubt a signal for a hard winter to come. For a moment she ignored her baser instinct to go out and hunt. She wanted to make sure that this den was marked with her strong scent. She was strong and a missed meal would be fine for the moment.
Asyria could smell on the air that more snow was going to come soon. The vixen would hunt before the weather changed for the worse and stock pile what she could. Her eyes darted about, looking for rabbit or squirrel dwellings that were close to her new accommodations. There were trees that she knew she could stalk about until snatching up one of the nut-hunting rodents, but the rabbits were becoming more scarce now that her presence was noticed.
This meant more careful hunting. Later. Turning, she moved back into her den to dig a little further so the cold would be kept at bay by distance from the entrance to the den. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

It was super cold. Super, duper cold. Spine chilling, literally speaking. Roni wasn't that big of a male wolf but neither was he small. He was just right. Alright so this was the wrong place to make it sound like The Three Little Bears. Especially when Roni whimpered that making jokes at a time like this was so unnatural.
Shuddering as the wind whipped through, the young male omega trotted as fast as his frozen stiff legs could carry him. He hadn't been able to hunt because there were no smaller prey he could catch that wondered out and the only real thing he was worried about was trying to find shelter or freeze to death.
Roni whimpered softly with his ears pressed back before he sniffed around. The air seemed to be changing and it wasn't for the better. He needed to find a place fast or else he was going to be the first snow wolf. Picking up the pace he used the motivation to find that shelter. Indeed he found it. It looked like a new den and wondered if someone was already occupying it but he would take his chances at a angry bear or wolf with an unexpected guest.
The omega entered the den gingerly, lowering his head submissively. "H-Hello? Is anyone in here? Please....Please let me rest from the cold."[/gray]

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ With quick paws and a small canine yip, the female jumped in front of him and spread her paws a part. Her tail fluffed and her fur stood on end, trying to make herself look bigger. She gave a growl as her eyes narrowed at the intruder, unsure of the newcomer's intentions.
However, as she stood growling ready to protect her new home, she noted the intruder with careful green eyes. A wolf. An omega at that. He was not huge nor was he small. He was alone and his head was pressed low to the ground in submission.
His beautiful pale coat was frosted and his eyes were downcast in weakness. The Omega's form was shuddering as the wind whipped by again. Hardened by this climate, the plush fox knew how to brave the cold, but this adolescent wolf seemed unsure of himself. A few more rovings of her eyes and she nodded.
"Come in, out of the cold," she told the wolf, coming out of her defensive stance and moving aside. It wasn't a huge den, so she could only move out of his way so much so he could curl into the other corner of the rounded triangle shaped den.

The wolf looked up with his pale green eyes, full of fear that the fox would rip through him for trespassing. Which he wouldn't blame her because he did just came in and not at least let his presence be known from outside but...Here he was. When the fox spoke that fear slowly melted away, unlike the bloody snow, and gave a tiny smile after the female fox accepted that he can be there. "Th-Thank you so much. I promise not to take up much space or be troublesome. I'll be quiet until the c-cold let's up and leave you in peace. Thank you." He murmured, moving over to a space that was away from the enternace yet not to far inside to crowd up the fox's space. "I'm R-Roni. What is your name?" The omega asked as he curled up, looking up cutely.

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ "Asyria," the vixen answered gently before looking him over carefully. The young kit had been taught well by her mother and she had willingly accepted a guest into her den. She was not about to insult him nor mistreat him. He might be an omega, but all wolf-kin were seen as friends unless they were a danger or threat. It seemed that this pale wolf was neither of those things. After checking that the wolf had not been followed and was alone, she moved toward him and nudged him very gently with her snout.
"Move in further. The wind will no doubt begin to demand attention and the farther from the entrance you are, the better," she told him as she motioned for him to move farther toward one of the corners. He did not take up that much space and he didn't have to try and shrink himself.
"Are you in need of food? I was about to go hunting now that I have found a rabbit hole I can watch," Asyria asked him as she looked toward the entrance of her den. Before he arrived, she had noted the small hole on the other side of the embankment and she was sure if she was patient enough, she could snatch a rabbit or two.~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

Asyria. That was a lovely name the happy omega thought to himself. He was about to bid her a good night but she started to nudge him further into the den and looked back, his ears back with that worried expression. "B-But I don't want to intrude on your space. Please I just you know....I don't want to intrude." He repeated lamely, his will weak in the cold he scooted further in as Asyria told him to do. Finding a spot further in, he felt his body relax and warm up. Curling up he tried to take up as little space as possible, looking up at Asyria with big pale green eyes, the kind that looked almost cat like. When he was asked if he needed food he looked down almost in shame. "I was going to hunt but the cold....I....I would rather starve than freeze to death." He murmured, looking embarassed.

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ "Then stay here. I shall return soon," Asyria told him and with that she was gone, slipping out of the den like a lace striped spirit of the forest.
Outside, her small paws took her quickly over the snow. When she was within leaping range she rolled about in the snow to gather some of the white fluff upon her dark fur and then pressed herself close to the ground. Waiting and watching, she kept her body still and her breathing even. Sharp deep green eyes watched the entrance of the busy rabbit hole, waiting for the right moment.
Movement. Dash. Snatch. A cry of surprise and fear. Then silence.
The cry riles another. A second snatch is made and the last cry of another caught creature is heard before silence once again permeates over the snowdrift.
Asyria entered her den with two good sized rabbits, the rodents also having prepared for hibernation, were large. She set them down before the wolf before taking her own and curling up against the wall of the small den. It was not a strenuous hunt, but she was not sure when a meal would be that simple again. Her prey would not fall for the same tricks.~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

The wolf lifted his head up watching the female leave and he looked even more worried. He should have shutted up so that she didn't have to go out hunting for him. Roni would have been fine. Well maybe. Sighing softy he looked around then thought he would make himself useful to make this place a little bigger for her. After all, it would be best to keep this den at a size perfect for her so that when spring came she would find her mate and be able to have her kits here. Roni smiled slightly at the small help he would return to Asyria. Stopping he made sure everything was smoothed out and perfect. Then he curled up cutely, staring at the walls to see if he should do more but he could ask Asyria that when she came back. When she did come back, he was surprised to see a plump rabbit before him. "Thank you....." He murmured ebfore he looked up at Asyria. "I h-hope you don't mind that I made your space a little bigger. S-So you can have room and warmth too." He blinked cutely and pulled the rabbit close, beginning to dig in.

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ The fox's green eyes scanned the den for a moment and she noticed that with his larger paws he was able to dig a little more for her and further into the den. She gave a small fox-like smile before looking to her rabbit and beginning to eat heartily.
"Thank you, Roni," Asyria said graciously before continuing her meal. Her plush tail was wrapped around her small, brown form and she was able to keep warm as she took all she could from the rabbit before digging a hole and burying the bones so the smell would not attract wandering animals looking for leftovers.
"Tell me, where were you headed when the snow began to fall?" The vixen asked curiously. She was wondering what a wolf was doing out here. She did not know of any packs in the area unless they were moving toward the mountains. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

The omega's ears perked up cutely at the gratitude that came from the fox and that made him...happy. Roni loved helping others and if they noticed it with a thank you that made it better for him. "Thank you for the meal." The wolf said cutely before he dug further into his meal. Half way through his rabbit he stopped to look up at Asyria, pondering on her question. Licking his muzzle he looked down before lowering his head a bit. "I'm searching for a pack to join. But so many are more.....meaner and some just.....expect so much. I just want someplace I can call home. Or if anything find a friend....." Roni didn't really like living alone too much because it didn't do well for him in such a big world.

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ The vixen nodded in understanding, her shaggy brown fur ruffling slightly. She finished licking her paws clean and making sure her maw was clear of blood before sitting back and watching him curiously. A young omega wandering around by himself... and conveying such an innocent air. It was not going to be easy for him to find a pack. From what she knew of wolves, Omegas were needed to keep the pact worry-free and peaceful. The alphas and betas hunted while the Omegas saw to home life and kept the pack in good spirits.
"That shall not be an easy task. During the winter, I suggest you stay put in one place for a while and leave the searching for spring. You will run into more wolves then as well. In winter because food is scarce, packs tend to keep close-knit and not allow others to join," the fox mentioned. She was not a wolf, but she had learned from her parents. Foxes were family oriented, not packs.
"You are welcome to stay for now," Asyria told him gently as she curled her tail around her pause regally. She had no perspective mates and was not expecting cubs at this point in her life. With the den now a little bigger, she did not mind his presence.~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

The omega listened and nodded before he layed his head down after finishing a delicious meal and making sure he cleaned up after himself very well. "But you know I...I'm afraid that if I enter a pack they will not like someone like..me." He wasn't really weak, he could hunt when the weather was kinder to him and he could fight though he preferred not to. He was just a soft hearted wolf. What pack would want soft when they might want strength?
"I promise I won't stay here too long. I don't want to intrude in your space." He bowed his head cutely while it was still on the ground and smiled at Asyria. "Though I thank you for helping me."

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ "You would be surprised at how many packs really should be looking for more Omegas. Many of the pack goes out hunting and few are left behind to watch over and take care of the pack at home. Everyone is so concerned with food only. Mental well-fare is just as important and Omegas are a huge part of that," Asyria mentioned. Once again, she was not a wolf, but she had been around a few and she spoke often to her mother and father about their larger cousins.
Looking over this young wolf once more, she could see that his demeanor was one of gentility and warmth. This was the kind of wolf you could trust to keep cubs from wondering off and keep them entertained. She observed him for a few moments before shaking her shaggy head.
"Don't worry. I will not need any kind of space for anyone else but myself. Mating season for foxes isn't until late spring and you do not take up that much room. Stay during the winter and perhaps I can show you how to hunt in this weather," she suggested. Though he, with the lighter coat, would have a much better time staying hidden. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

Listening the Omega wolf had to disagree. When he was born he had been driven out of his birth pack because he appeared to them weak. While he would have make a great scapegoat he didn't want to live as such so he took that exile happily. Yet that was a disadvantage since he's been alone.
Sighing deeply he opened his mouth to tell Asyria about that before he blinked then seemed to blush a light pink, stuttering. "N-n-no I couldn't, wouldn't dream of over staying my welcome. I don't want to become a nuisance to you. I would be nothing but a thorn in your side and all...."

Tonight, We Are Young So Let's Set The World On Fire ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ "You are welcome to stay as long as you need to, Roni. It is no bother to me and in a way it would give me some training for when I have a mate or pups," the young fox confessed with a soft chuckle. She sat with her laced up paws crossed in front of her and her tail curled around her lithe form.
Outside the wind howled and the winter beat against the small hole that had become the home for one and refuge for another. She watched him curiously for a moment before turning and nipping at her own side, ridding herself of small biting bugs that clung to her warmblooded body. Licking the spot she had biting at, she groomed herself and got comfortable.
"Roni," the vixen spoke up after a moment, looking to the Omega, "What happened to the pack you were born into?" ~-~-~-~-~-~-~ We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun
