 Sterling was pacing outside his family's home, looking extremely nervous about something. His hooves were clicking against the gravel as he he walked back and forth, trying to be aware of his surroundings as he paced, not wanting to run into anything."Sterling, it isn't going to be that bad, could you please calm down? Your pacing is starting to worry me,"Serenity sighed."I am sorry, Serena, it is just not everyday we have company coming that I want to impress,"Sterling replied."Just be yourself, Sterling, that's all you can do,"Serenity insisted."Easy for you to say, Serena, you are not meeting the family of someone you like. You have your mate and I am sure any of his family loves you,"Sterling grumbled."They will love you too, you have to remember this is Al and Ed's family as well. Just try to relax,"Serenity tried to soothe her friend.
"Serenity is right, Sterling, just try not to get so freaked out,"Dea's voice broke in as she stepped out to check on them.

 _______________________ The elder mare gave a grunt as she strode behind her daughter giving her enough space to be independent and yet close enough to catch her. She was out here with Tempest because she wanted her family to meet her friend Sterling and his family. From what Tempest said, this stallion was practically raised by humans as well as the other azrein that lived with him which put Kainda a little on edge. She had changed her alignment for the sake of her family, but that didn't mean she had totally jumped on the wagon. Her nostrils flared as they came in view of the small hut. "Dear I believe we have reached our destination. Would you like for us to wait so that your brother and father may catch up?" Kainda nipped her filly's ear a little in affection as she watched a stallion pace back an forth from afar. That must be the one, Sterling, that Tempest spoke about. For being blind, he seemed sure of himself.Tempest was so excited and yet nervous at the same time. It seemed that Sterling wanted her to meet his family and well Tempest could only think of her family meeting his. It would be an exciting venture for the both of them she was sure of that! She seemed to be walking on air as this would be her first time meeting a human and her family which piqued her curiosity to no end. Tempest began to wonder what Dea and her husband was like and was thankful that her mother came along even though she realized that her mother was still not totally on board with the human thing. The mare leaned up against her giving a gentle sigh. Her thoughts were quickened when Kainda announced they had arrived. "Well...I dunno, Ma. I kinda want to go on ahead, but I don't want to go without Dad and Kai. I hope he'll be on his best behavior..." Her brother, Kai Darksun, was her beloved twin and a damnable hot head. She only hoped that he would have the sense not to scare their host in his own home.

  "Come on Dad hurry up! This guy is important!." Kai fussed at his father. He was ready to be there right now...not sniffing the effing daisies on the path!"But these are Camomile! One of your mother's favorite flowers.""Do I look like I care?""One day you will brat...well if you insist.""Yes I insist I - "Tide shot past his overly impatient son, he may be younger but his father was still faster. Tide popped over a ridge while Kai was still swearing and trying to catch up. He saw the black and orange forms of his two favorite azrein in the distance."DAD!"
"What? Hurry up!"Tide zoomed down the ridge his long black legs ate the distance and Kai was speeding up behind him. His son was about five lengths back when he slid to a stop beside his lovely mate. "Hello Kainda love. My dearest Tempest. Kai lad! What took you so long?"Kai glared at his father and gently nuzzled his sister in greeting.

Sterling's ears seemed to twitch to the side as he heard hooves not too far from them. He was sure he heard voices as well and he turned his body in that direction. He focused his ears in front of him and he stamped his left front leg on the ground, trying to get rid of his building nerves.
"Dea, you might want to call in to Al and let him know they are here,"he told his chosen.
Dea nodded her head, a soft smile on her lips, even if Sterling could not see it.
"Al, our company is almost here, you might want to get your behind out here!"Dea called into him.
"Dea, how did you feel when you first met Al's family?"Sterling asked,
"Probably like you are now, a bundle of nerves. I felt like I was going to pass out, but Al assured me everything would be alright. Turns out, that silly husband of mine knew what he was talking about, I feel like part of their family,"Dea smiled.

Tempest gave a deep breath. Her father had finally made it along with her beloved brother. She nudged him gently in greeting quite happy he was there. Though they often fought, he was still her protector. Well at least one of them. She heard her father's footfalls. She stretched her neck out having to step a bit as she passed her mother to reach her father. She nudged his nose taking in a deep breath glad he was here. As much as Tempest was an adult, she still felt like a little filly whenever her parents were here. She took a breath feeling her mother's nudge against her neck.The mare had greeted her mate with an affectionate n** and a nudge against his face and nose as a kiss before she attended back to her daughter. "From the looks of this male, he paces much like your father did when I became with foals." Kainda chuckled as she whispered now straightening out her body. "Are you ready, dear heart?" Tempest took in a deep breath feeling herself grow just as nervous as well. The fact that Sterling was made things a little easier. The two females strode forward almost at the exact same time as Kainda kept pace with her daughter as well as giving her support and guiding her toward the home. Her eyes fell on Sterling's human, known as Dea, but there were no others there. Her ears perked forward listening as she tried to keep aware of her surroundings. The female did call for the one named 'Al' which made her feel a little cautious. Her body tensed slightly but the touch of her daughter calmed her. As they arrived closer, Tempest called out, "Sterling! I'm here. I'd like for you to meet my family." She gave a wide grin as Kainda turned her head to Dark Tide. "Well my love, you are the patriarch of the family. Introductions are your job, not of mine." The mare gave a coy look with a chuckle.

Tide grimaced. "Must I precious I don't know the other party. Oh very well." He said resigned. " Ahem, this is my mate Kainda, my daughter Dark Tempest and my son Kai Darksun." Tide felt slightly awkward but he made do as Tempest looked pretty happy to be here. Kai bowed with a flourish. Tide rolled his eyes at his son. The lad didn't get that from him...well maybe a little of it.
About this time Alddrion Drake poked his head around the corner of the splendid barn where the other azrein were kept. Kessling it seemed was still asleep in her stall. "Dearest? You called?"

"Yes, dear, unless you know another Al that lives around the area,"Dea teased her husband as she saw him peeking around the corner. She walked over to him and kissed his lips.
"It is nice to meet all of you, I suppose I will do the introductions for our family. My name is Sterling and the mare to my right is Serenity, who is like a sister to me. The female human you heard speaking to me is mine and Serenity's chosen, Deanna and the male with her is her husband, Alddrion. A couple members of our family are still sleeping,"Sterling spoke as calmly as he could.
"See, Sterling's friend and her family are here, the mare he was telling us about,"Dea whispered to her husband.
"I do hope you find your visit a pleasant one,"Serenity added gracefully.

"It is a pleasure to meet you all." Kainda said as smoothly as she could looking from one face to another to get acquainted. The name Drake sounded familiar as she looked toward her mate in curiosity. Though she decided not to speak on that matter yet as her eyes fell on Sterling. He looked strong and as he spoke, she could sense his unease. She would have called him out on it by now, but this was her daughter's friend. She was going to be cordial. "Tempest has told us about Sterling and his family. Since she holds him in such high regard, we decided we would come visit." The mare said with a smile looking toward her beaming blind child. Tempest had giggled a little at her father's introduction. He was rusty and Mom always had a way of putting him on the spot. She thought that her mom liked the way it made Dad squirm. "Oh it's wonderful to meet you, Serenity and Deanna and Alddrion." She couldn't help but wiggle with a bit of excitement as she addressed the humans. Finally! She would meet not only one but two for the first time. She knew that her mother could care less about them, but it was exciting to her. And to think her Uncle was bonded to the brother of the male! Oh what would it be like to be bonded to a human! What adventures would she have! And finally to have a friend to tell her what the world looks like. Tempest calmed herself after a moment realizing that she was daydreaming and not paying attention. "Oh! Well I'm sure it will be. Sterling is such a dear friend. He's always welcome company and I'm honored to meet his family." Tempest gave a heartfelt smile as she looked in the direction of Sterling. By this time she could smell him and she had caught his voice earlier, keeping her ear pegged to where it came from so that when she turned her head she could know where he was immediately.
