May 7, 2012 Devil NightShade Deception: *stares at Lat* ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Ummm... O_O;;; *sweats under the stare* >_> *shoves Keshani* Here, D! Have a snack?
Keshani: Are you serious?
What? You're kinda small, and he's like ginormous. He could eat you. >.> Devil NightShade Deception: *eyes the half kalona mare* Now, that's not a worthy snack .. besides .. my mother would be less than amused if I ate one of Aveshar's foals ... no matter -how- tempting it is. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *flattens her ears* See, a purist. I might taint him should he consume me. *sighs* Devil NightShade Deception: *sneers wickedly* Hardly, I've bread with a kirin/kalona, being pure is worthless if one is not true to their kalona heritage. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *blinks at him* And this is based on what? Your opinion of what is 'true to kalona heritage'? Is there a list somewhere? Everyone talks about it, but it's rather incorporeal even as ideas go. Devil NightShade Deception: *flicks an ear at the mare, a smirk curled at the edges of his lips. This one was rather interesting to say the least* A list? No I would say not, but I have -my- values in what a strong fine kalona should be, and what are we but our values? ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *tilts her head inquiringly, eyes glowing brightly* Hmm, I feared not. Ah well, a personal list is better than no list at all, yes? And if you know what you value, that is close enough to a list, is it not? *shifts on her hooves* Without our motives and our values, I imagine we're nothing. Useless, spineless bodies of nothing. *flicks her spaded tail and resettles her feathered wings* I have no interest in being 'nothing'. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *flicks her ears, and then pins them with a snort* I don't 'believe I'm nothing', I'm just quite accustomed to the 'pure ones' thinking I am. *tilts her head* Though, perhaps you don't think so... That would be an interesting change. *laughs softly, more to herself than anything* For me, at least. *stretches slightly* Still, one is not so scary like this, is one? *flares one wing in example* Devil NightShade Deception: *flicks his tail* Some of my brethren don't understand that even those with a little mix in their blood can be strong, and truer than even their 'pure' brethren. *stretches his wings* Well, prove to them that you -are- to be feared, even if your wings aren't like other kalonas. Are your fangs, hooves, and horns not sharp? ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani Avenara: *Tilts her head slightly as she listens to him, considering his words* I've ne'er met anyone who even considered such a thing, perhaps beyond my sire.. But then, it is his belief that there is strength and potential in almost every species... And that perhaps, sometimes, the blind arrogance that Kalona can have, ignoring anything but the purest veins, can be a weakness. *shifts slightly on her hooves, smiling before mockingly snapping her teeth at him, her eyes amused* They are, would you like to test them? *she laughed* Devil NightShade Deception: *curls his tail* I feel there is very little to be said for most of the other breeds, some can prove .. useful, but if one isn't careful they will only weaken their blood with lesser breeds. *he grinned devilishly and lower his head black and blood read horns pointed towards the mare* come then girly .. show me. ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *shrugs slightly* I've met a few that reinforce this belief of yours... But also I adopted a stray with mixed blood that proved herself more like my daughter than I could have hoped. She's grown and hunting on her own now, but I still remember her with fondness. *laughs and dances aside on her hooves, mock lunging at him and then withdrawing, her head bowed* I fear you have me at a disadvantage, my lord. It would be a fairly quick fight, if you insist in fighting as bucks and rams do. Devil NightShade Deception: *he only listened to her recite tell of her adopted 'child.' He smirked slightly fangs flashing in the sun.* Weell, if you don't think you're strong enough ... *he sneered teasingly then whipped around, trying to wrap his tail around her girth to lift her up* ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: *smiles fondly at the thought of Avia, and then pushes the memories away, focusing on the larger stallion and his deadly horns* Strong enough? I am a practical creature, my lord, and you are larger and stronger than I... Your horns are far-reaching, and deadly points. The best I could hope for would be to stun you with mine own, and I fear I'd have to bleed myself on your horns to accomplish such a thing. *she darted to the side, attempting to evade the tail, and was at least grateful that she had speed where she lacked in size and brute strength* Devil NightShade Deception: *he chuckled highly amused* Smart mare *he spun on his hocks surprisingly agile for his size. He lunged again, ready to shove his head beneath her belly and pick her up that way now. He wasn't interested in causing her any physical harm , not even a scratch would mar her hide* ~Latonia de la Courtel~ Keshani: I try. *she grinned before shying away at his sudden spin, wing's half-flared to steady herself as she reared to evade his horns. She wasn't sure if he meant harm or just to test her, but those horns were nothing to sneer at and she'd rather not catch them, even by accident. Still, that begged the question, what was the point of this dance of theirs?* Do you seek to spear me like a defending buck? *sooner or later, he'd catch her, he was fast as well as large... and his reach oustripped her own* ~:Continued In MSN:~ Deception: *he smirked stepping slowly back, though his head was still low huge body weaving back and forth like a big cat ready to make it's killing pounce* I'd never harm a hair on your head darling ... I'm just curious about your skills is allKeshani: *half-smiles, amused in spite of herself, and playfully skitters sideways to judge his strike and reach* My head I will not worry about then, but my belly or haunches I will still be concerned for, if you don't mind. *she reared again, wings spread for balance, and hopped forward with a mock strike of her forelegs* And I will pray I do not disappoint! Deception: *he chuckled eyes following her every move* Not a part of you needs to worry, I'll refrain from taking a single hair out of place .. if possible ... *his voice suddenly dipped lower a sensual growl, yet with a hint of a tease* unless you WANT me to be rough ... *he slithered away from her strike, but a hoof struck his shoulder anyway the sting of pain shot down his leg making him grin*Kesha: That's sweet of you. *she replied coyly, lashes fluttering before she danced aside on her hooves.* Hmm, but maybe I do. You are an intriguing sort, but I'd bet you hear that all the time. *She was surprised the strike had hit, considering it had been a mock-threat at best, and it made her more cautious when she saw his grin* I have a feeling you're going to play for real now, hmm? Deception:*laughed, any normal soquili would have been shaking in their boots with the tone gurgling from deep within his gut* On the contrary .. you may be the first mare I have meet since my dear insane Kimera that has caught enough of my attention to speak more than a few choice words too. *his tail lashed behind him and he half passed slowly hooves easily crossing each other.... Suddenly the massive stallion lunged towards her, a crooked grin on his features*Keshani: *grins, shaking her head* Well, that's quite a sweet thing to say to a girl you just met. I've heard stranger things than 'you remind me of a mad former girlfriend', but none of them sounded half so sweet. I think I'm flattered. *she watched the slide of his hooves and the snap of his tail, and didn't quite make it out of range when he lunged at her. At best it would be a body blow, at worst he'd probably catch her with his teeth or horns too, she just wasn't sure which as of yet.* Deception: *he snorted suddenly* Hardly what I meant, Kimera was interesting because of her insanity. You on the other hand, are quick witted .. prideful .. strong .. independent .. possibly a vicious little minx -everything a kalona mare -should- be. *he locked his body down, throwing his head up and digging his hooves into the earth, so that when hi broad chest collided with her body ... at worst he would knock her over, at the best they would collide*Keshani: Well, thank you for that. *is rather surprised at the compliments, genuine pleasure lighting her eyes even as she tried to make herself a smaller target and tucked her hindquarters to keep from toppling over. The collision did make her slide, hooves cutting into the green carpet beneath them, and she did waver but kept her feet* Deception: *while still in a locked down position, his rump nearly on the ground like a sitting dog, he launched his tail out and made it stiff to help her keep from falling. As soon as she was good and stopped his tail whipped back away and he rocked back standing easily once more. Soulless white eyes watched the mare, making sure she was alright. .... He flexed his large wings before folding them back down against his leathery hide* You don't disappoint by the way. *he smirked a slight tease in his voice, even though he was dead serious*Keshani: *curls herself into a more compact form as best she can, but is grateful when the quick press of his tail kept her from falling. She straightened a moment after he did, shaking herself from nose to tail and stamping one hind hoof to be sure all was in working order. She watched the flare and fold of his wings with a tilt of her head, and grinned at his compliment* Well, thank you very much for that, My lord. *she bowed her head in acknowledgement* And it most certainly has been an education, and a pleasure, to make your acquaintance. I'm not sure we've had proper introductions as of yet, so I suppose I should start. I am Keshani Avenara, and you guessed a'right when you judged me Aveshar's daughter. Deception:*stood there silently watching her. He looked like a statue of coiled steel that was hidden beneath a taunt leather. His runes glowed in the dimming light. He chuckled softly at the fact she kept calling him 'My lord' but he wasn't about to object to the title. He nodded briefly at her thanks, messy black mane rustling against his thick neck.* I am Deception, son of Masquerade. *he knew he looked barely anything like the tiny blue mare that had birthed him. He towered above her, and was built as thick as a bull. Only the glow of his eyes, the red marking that graced them and the red thorns wrapped so tightly around his neck them seemed to by trying to cut off his airways gave away his heritage*Keshani: *Resettling herself, she eyed him in consideration as he viewed her in return. Her father had told her of Masquerade -whom he still referred to as a 'Lady'- and she thought that she might have even seen the mare at a distance, once upon a time. But there was little of her in her son, at least to Keshani's eyes. He stood towering over her, larger even than the fiery kalona she had once confronted on his own mountain. It was impressive, to say the least.* I think I saw your mother once, a long time ago and not for long. But I see little of her on you, so I take it you take after your sire? I've ne'er seen one quite so tall as you, well met Lord Deception. *she flicked an ear* So, are you a wanderer? Deception:*he smirked slightly* I am mainly my father's child, I take after him in size . .though he is slightly larger even than I. My coat color, my eyes, and my thorns do come from my mother. I've meet your father many times, I even remember seeing yourself and your siblings when I was still but a yearling forging me way in the world he would have frowned, as the admission made him feel slightly old but then he just silently laughed it off* Depends on my mood, I have a settled home, deep in my grandmother's lands .. but I rarely stay more than a few weeks at a time.Keshani: *flicks an ear, tilting her head in mute question to the smirk, though she gave a faint smile of her own* Ahh, I see. That is impressive, I must say. *she considered the vines, flicking her tail, before nodding again* That doesn't surprise me, Da is a social sort. I've wandered my share, but most often it is into the path of those who look down on me. *she shrugged her wings, rustling them as she resettled them on her back* A bit of both then? Interesting that we've not truly crossed paths before now. I'm not sure you seeing me as a foal counts. *she made an amused sound* It has been a long time since I've seen my siblings, let alone that we have all been together. *she shook off the memories, moving to pace a leisurely circle around him, should he allow it* Deception:Some will always look down upon different ones, even my own father looked down upon my children for having kirin in their blood. Yet I am intensely proud of them .. they are amazing creatures. My dear Aveve Engel is a vicious creature that puts many pure-bloods to shame if I do say so myself. *he watched her circle him, but didn't seem phased, he even rolled a hoof over in an expression of relaxation* I have not seen my siblings since we left our baskets, and only one of my children do I ever see. *a look of pain -almost- flickered across his face, but he caught it in time*Keshani: Well, that is true enough. *she shook it off, content to put it aside* Well then, it is your sire's loss isn't it? I am sure to earn your pride, they must be impressive indeed. *she returned to standing before him again, tilting her head in mute question* Is family not-so important then, or would you rather you had more contact with them? *she sighed* I miss my adopted nestling, I admit this. Family, it... It would be nice to have a family. I enjoy teaching the young ones to hunt, watching them grow to take down their own prey. *she couldn't understand the expression that flitted over his features, but she did notice it... and wonder* Deception: Deception: *watched her passively* I believe m daughter proved herself well enough .. and even if he never respect them .. like you said it is his loss. *his eyes blazed to life when she mentioned family* It is the most important thing in the world to us, my mother and grandmother instilled in all of us that stayed close enough a fierce loyalty. I would forsake my own life for any of them without any hesitation. *his tail cracked like a whip as if to accent the strong words*Keshani:*nods slightly to show her understanding, amusement gracing her features* Perhaps he will even come to recognize it, and strive to correct the issue. *she started slightly at the sudden flare, ears swiveling* A noble trait, surprising but admirable. They are lucky to have so staunch a protector in you. I have met some that would slay their own blood without a second thought. *she shook her head to banish the thought* I cannot understand it, but I have said I dearly love little ones. *she shook it off again, smiling* So then, My Lord, what brings you to this place? Wandering, and it is by chance? Or on your way to visit family perhaps? Deception: *he chuckled* Hardly, it's what anyone would do for their family isn't it? *his tail curled at her question* My mother her life-mate, my uncle and his love-mate live in a swamp on the other side of those mountains there *he nodded to a mountain range not far behind them* I was on my way back form visiting them, but I must admit I had no notion as to where I was intending to go, I only went where my hooves, and dinner, took me.Keshani: One would like to think so. *she agreed, nodding* Ahh, that sounds rather nice actually, to visit family now and again. *she flicked her tail, then smiled* Your hooves and dinner? *she glanced around teasingly* Well, I suppose I should now worry about how hungry you -really- are, hmm? I may be in danger of filling in, hmm? *mockingly she skittered away, eyes gleaming beneath her dark indigo forelock as she smiled* A shame, the conversation was going rather well, I thought. Deception:*he chuckled* Well, lucky enough for -you- I ate not long ago ... now if your offering me desert ... *he took half a step towards her a coy smile playing on his lips. He had never cared about being a master of seduction, if he wanted a mare he could either take them willingly or not .. though he wouldn't have done it to Keshani not in an eternity*Keshani: *heaves a dramatic sigh of relief, her eyes still glinting with mirth as she let her wings mantle to emphasize her 'relief'* Well, that is lucky indeed, isn't it? *she widened her eyes and her head shot up, wings drawing back to her sides* Dessert? Oh, I'm afraid I'm not sure I'm sweet enough for that. *she smiled, flicking her tail with slow deliberation* But I'm sure I could attempt it. Deception:*his wicked smirk stretching wide across pearly fangs* Now, if you were -too- sweet a desert I'd surely be disappointed ... where is the fun in all sugar and no spice? *his tail flicked lazily back and forth*Keshani: Kesha: *she laughed* Ahh, that is true enough. I am sure I can avoid from being -too- sweet, but I trust you'll let me know if I am in danger of such an unfortunate fate? *she snapped her teeth at him, eyes glittering* Perhaps we can pass some time together, then? Unless you'd rather carry on to your home, and find dessert another time.
