Name: Tyalessa Ruby Hayes (if the first name is familier to you then you seen a previous quest whose name i changed because this quest will fit the tyalessa OC i have going at the moment)
Nicknames: Tye, Essa

Age: mentally + physically: 16

Natural Ability: Elemental Summon: creates an elemental creature that does their bidding. Essa can only summon one at a time and are pretty much small, similar size to a mouse. They do miscellaneous jobs for her, like a fire one can heat up a fireplace or an ice one can cool down her drink.


Personality:
Withdrawn:- Essa is the oldest of a large family of mages and her little brothers and sister love getting into fights and eventually that leads to things breaking...alot. So Essa likes to go into a quiet room, with a book and some headphones, and just stays in there for hours on end, and daydreams about the book she reads, she doesnt like getting into confrontations or arguments unless its a debate on a topic she feels passionate about. As well as wanting to just be alone from loud people, she can do the things shes good at on her own very efficiently.

Confident:- Essa is quite confident with both her appearance and magic, she knows her limits and sticks to what she knows, which allows her to make less mistakes, she may seem arrogant to others however this is because she likes to keep her insecurities to herself because she doesnt want to appear weak

Booksmart: What with Essa enjoying being on her own reading and doing various tasks, she knows alot about various magic (however knowing and actually performing them are two veeeerrrryyyyy different things) and also knows quite abit about various others creatures from amityville, she also reads books on the human world (however these maybe gigiantuantly blown out of proportion, and are probably untrue but Essa doesnt know this xD )

Sarcastic:- Despite being withdrawn and doesnt like being in confrontations, Essa can be very sarcastic to people she knows and feels comfortable with fairly well. When those people are in arguments between each other for silly things, Essa will get very annoyed and try to get out of it by being sarcastic, in hopes to point out how silly the argument is or how her role in it is unimportant. (However noted if it is an actual important argument then she will not be sarcastic). She doesnt try to be mean about it when she does, it just a way for her to get her point across to her friends that its silly and she doesnt want any part of it

An Open Mind:- Essa is willing to accept new things even if they dont seem probable, but if the source is unreliable then she will remain skeptical until she learns more of it. She will admit when she gets things wrong without getting upset about it because that means shes learnt what was right.

Spacey:- Essa tends to daydream alot so it might get hard for someone to get her attention, it also means she will loose track of what people are talking about including teachers...in the middle of class. This is due to alot of withdrawing herself away from others throughout her childhood, she did alot of daydreaming whilst reading books. This made her often late for stuff like dinner and family gatherings, so she would most likely be quite late for things in school as well.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
To get some new experience and gain some independence from her large familiy

Familiar: Instead of a weapon, Essa has a small bird similar to the rainbow bird god: Achiyalabopa (except its not a god XP just based off it)
As the name indicates (sort of...) it has rainbow feathers on its wings, the biggest feathers at the bottom are as sharp as knives. This particular bird has red as its main body colour and its tail is four long talons with a golden ring encasing it at the top and in the middle. It likes to sits on Essa's shoulder when summoned and is about the same size of her head and neck.
FEAR Ability:
Essa uses the fire element and uses her familiar to send a blast of that element to her opponent (with possible consequence to herself)

Physical Description:

Eye Colour: Essa is a heterochromia, One eye is red and the other is a dark pink
Hair Colour/Style: A shoulder length ponytail with a fringe similar to this one but shorter ref
Skin Colour: a normal peach colour
Clothing Style/Colours: a black tank top with a pumpkin on the torso, a two layered pleated skirt, orange for the top layer and black for the bottom layer. Black arm warmers that reach to her elbows with pumpkins on them. Black (not leather, just normal fabric) boots (with broader heels that what the ref.shows) that reach up to her thighs.

I just want to say, I like what you have so far! It's nice to see more mages in the shop biggrin I do have a few questions though!

You say she's withdrawn, and avoids confrontation, but is also sarcastic- does she do this behind people's backs, where they might not hear her? I'd love to see more elaboration on how those work together! On that note- I'd also like to see how her sarcasm plays with her open-mindedness. What if she thinks someone is wrong, and dismisses them or is snarky, and later finds out that SHE was in the wrong?

You seem to have pretty good elaboration on her 'virtue' traits, or her positive traits, but I'd love to see a little more fleshing out on her flaws. It's really largely a matter of opinon though- I'm the kinda person who likes to see a more heavily fleshed out profile, because that is how I like to work, but it might help you later down the road, esp with balancing your character's attributes to form a cohesive whole!

Her reason for joining Amity makes sense, but think of this as a college application essay. Would you write on your essay that you wanted to be accepted to escape your family? I guess it's not EXACTLY the same thing, but maybe elaborate on what she personally hopes to gain from her enrollment, besides the distance.

Her familliar sounds fine. As for her FEAR, Battle Cry works, but try and choose a particular element for her to use for her Y1. Her later FEAR abilities can be different elements as she learns them, but this attack should work the same way every time, so don't be afraid to pick an element and stick to it! smile

Overall, I think you're on track, don't be afraid to solicit for crits in the main thread, and good luck with your questing! Feel free to quote me if you have questions or if I said something that didn't make sense, rofl. heart

Your personality is great just small things:
Intelligent- I am automatically hesitant to giving characters large amounts of intelligence 'right of the bat so to speak'. Especially about the human world. So long as you understand that most things she'll have read are highly exaggerated and untrue, this is fine. All is this purely book smart rather than other 'forms' of intelligence? Can she come off as a know it all? Small details but other than that good!

'Essa is willing to accept new things even if they dont seem probable, and shes not one to believe gossip/bias of rude/jealous people about other people as that means closing another possiblity as to what the gossip is about. ' These seem rather contradictory because if she's willing too accept new things, she should be open to new information. You say she's open to improbable things, but then say how she doesn't really take things as they're given to her. It might be better to say that she's willing to accept new things, but will remain skeptical until she knows a bit more about it.
