SUMMER IS SOON OH MY GOD! Also, I love FE6, which my brother bought for me for my birthday earlier this year. =)

I'm so freaking happy. I'll have time to be here, you'll have time to be here. The only downside is I live in Arizona and it's gonna be 110 degrees every day. xp
So. What's up?
PostPosted: Sun May 06, 2012 11:47 am

Hi there Nino! You got a copy of FE6? Lucky you! Playing it on a DS, I assume? No region blocks? Ability to play Mother 3?

I never finished FE6. I should get back to it sometime.

ANd summer can't come soon enough for me. I'm still in crunch-time-finals-land, and will be into next week and the week after that. I wish I could get a job. But summer vacation sounds really awesome right now.

I have a little break before my Finals, which are Thursday... All of them. gonk
Yeah I have to go job searching too...
Yep, playing on DS! Don't know what Mother 3 is. =) Is that the one with Ness?

That's the one with Lucas. It's an amazing, amazing game. It's happy, sad, funny, scary, the whole package. And everyone I have shown it to has broken down crying at least once. Me? It got me twice.

Waha. I wonder if I'm some sort of secret depressive. I'm about to beat Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War for the first time (I'm on endgame, but I'm saving that for when I have all my papers done as an incentive!), and I wonder if it's any coincidence that the two japan-only-fan-translated games I've finished (or come close to finishing in the case of FE4) are of worlds where EVERYTHING GOES WRONG ALL THE TIME.

And all of your finals are on one day? Ouchies. Well, good luck, and be sure to eat well. Bring food with you, sleep well, and pretend it's gonna be a breeze. At least you're getting them all done with quickly.

Next week is finals, and then I go job searching too. Hopefully a few of my classmates and neighbors will help me out in being a reference for job searching. >>; That's the only part I have trouble with.

I also hope I get paid more than minimum wage too. I'm a community college graduate, I have higher standards god dang it.

My first final is on Tuesday morning, and then the others are Thursday morning and Friday afternoon.

I'm going to rest at least one good day before going anywhere and everywhere trying to find work.

I hope I'll have some days off so then I can finish my blind LP of Advance Wars and then maybe even LP another game.

And of course, I should get to writing too. And color-pencil landscapes. I might even show you guys a few of the ones I've made already. =D

Oh, come on Nino, 110 isn't that bad. (It's also usually only 10 cool razz It's those random 120 days that suck. Also, it's only a dry heat.

At least Genealogy gets cheery when you to the end (The final act (once Velthomer is captured) is just... wow.) (Hell, the whole Second Gen is cheery when compared to the first. Sure the "Crapsack World" is in full play, but now you've a chance.)

Mother 3? Not so much. That game beats you into the floor. Sideways. And makes you cry. Then beats you back into the floor. And shoots your dog... and it *NEVER* gets "better"- even the ENDING will leave you in tears. (No actually, the ending is merely a bitter icing on the cake (not saying anymore)) That said, it is, as you said, an amazing game. It's an emotional roller-coaster. Too bad, like Genealogy, it won't ever get an official translation (even though they could localize VC versions of both)... like Genealogy, Mother 3 is just too dark, and Nintendo won't lose face.

What I'm doing this summer? I'm gonna be goin' to Comicon, then, I don't know what's happening this summer exactly... so I've got the month of May, to which I've decreed, I'm gonna spend having fun.

I know afterward I'll be signing up for the Air Force, cause I realized, after spending 4 years in a dead-end job in an infinite cycle of same things, same faces, same places, never earning enough to do what I needed to (Like College). And then getting fired, then having to move back to my parents', that I suck... and maybe, just maybe, joining the USAF will help me get control (at the very least, it'll kick my a** and put me through school).

The 110 degree days? Let 'em blow like dust in the wind. Actually, you know what? No. That sucks too: Dust storms + Heat = /cry
There's nothing left to lose..!
The fight never ends!!

I was joking and poking about my choice of games, really. But I'd be happy to talk more about 'em.

Mother 3 got my emotions in more of a fury then nearly anything else, but it also made me laugh and feel happy a lot on the opposite side of the spectrum. It's one of my favorite games, favorite anythings really, for just how much it plays with your emotions, and how much care and little details are present in that little GBA cartidge. And how much it can tear you apart. I know I've told some of my Mother 3 stories before. I played the game through with my little brother (Who I am very close to), and there was much emotional bonding and wet-faced hugs involved. ESPECIALLY during the ending. Heck, you should have seen me when I played the game by myself for the first time. Chapter 6 is what got me first, actually. I was a mess.

When it comes to Holy War, I have yet to beat the game as I am still using endgame as the carrot at the end of the stick during semester's end. It didn't get me nearly as emotional as Mother 3 or some other games, but it feels oppressive and heavy to me. Moreso then any other game in the series. Even when things are looking up, I feel like there's always a loss. Not to mention it stabbed at a particular soft-spot-adult-fear of mine during chapter 10.

Luckily both series have dedicated fans.

In addition, best of luck with your summer and the USAF. I can't say too much from here other then good luck. I know some people with similar ideas and I am wondering how it will work out for them too.

Gen2 isn't bad at all. It's dark, you know, with the Child hunts going on, and Yurius and Manfroy in control of everything, but as a wise-man once said "The primordial soup from which heroes are created seldom tastes of rainbows"... if you don't mind me asking, but what was it in Ch10 that stabbed at you?
