Hel nursed her bottle of black cherry soda idly, staring off into the distance with a look in her eyes that said she wasn’t there at the moment.
The ghoul was currently sitting on the Wishing Well’s edge, slouched and reclined. Sitting off to one side of her was a small plastic bag from the grocery store containing a bag of beef jerky and a few more bottles of black cherry soda. Dear Jack. She’d just been on a black cherry soda kick…it was so good. A small comfort in times like now.

She had no idea why she was walking down this path; it was as if an unseen force - or perhaps just her roleplayer - was pulling her towards the wishing well. As she neared the landmark, Lizzy caught sight of a most familiar figure, seated on the edge of the well... A familiar figure she had been meaning to visit, but for some reason, didn't have the guts to; after all, she felt that what happened to her on the mission was her fault. Her responsibility.
However, since fate - or two crazy girls - had brought them together outside of the school, Lizzy decided to gather her courage, and continued down the path. Once she was within earshot, she raised her hand to wave at the ghoul, "Hel!" While she sounded relatively cheerful, there was a sheepish smile on her lips due to her nervousness, "It's been a while!"

Then Hel blinked, the sound of her name rousing her from her thoughts, and everything came back into focus once more.
The reaper turned her head, the soda bottle still attached to her mouth as a brow rose. Oh. One could not mistake that mass of pink hair. A small smile tugged at the ghoul’s lips around the bottle, and she sat up a bit straighter to raise a hand to wave back. Finally she lowered the bottle. “Lizzy!” She greeted back with a small nod of her head. “Indeed it has. What brings you this way…?” Unless the Wishing Well was where all ghouls came to think, and not because role players liked having a variety in location.

"Uh," She looked even more sheepish than before as she stopped in front of Hel, blushing a bit, "It might sound weird, but I was just out strolling... Trying to clear my head, since a lot of things had happened recently, and my legs just took me here. Maybe you're a Lizzy magnet." Little did she know, that was close to the truth, for the sake of this encounter.
"And you? What are you doing there?" She smiled, genuinely this time, as she begun to relax.

“Nah, that is not weird.” Hel replied, and then smirked a bit. “A Lizzy magnet, eh? Do not let Mac hear you say that, ya?”
“Ah…same thing, I suppose. It is…quiet out here. Not quiet in that there is no sound but…there are not many others around to disrupt your thoughts, ya know?” She patted the spot next to her, and then reached into her bag and pulled out another bottle of black cherry soda, offering it to the spider ghoul.

"A Lizzy magnet," She giggled, and then settled down next to Hel, carefully balancing herself on the mouth of the well; it was probably a long drop down, so she didn't really want to think about what was behind her, "Don't worry~ It's our little secret." Another giggle, and she relaxed completely.
"Ah... Yeah, it is out of the way," She nodded, "Nobody really takes this path anymore, I think. I've not been here since the Floresctival... Ah, thanks!" She took the drink, looking at it curiously before opening the bottle, taking a small sip, and then another, "This is... Pretty good." She lowered the bottle, and turned to look at Hel, "So... What were you thinking about?"

The reaper made a non-committal sound in regards to Lizzy’s observation about the area and left it at that. She nodded her head a bit as Lizzy took the bottle, smiling a bit before it faded. What was she thinking about?
“…Ah…all the things, Lizzy, all the things.” Hel replied oh so specifically and helpfully. It was the truth of the matter, though. Her mind had been jumping from topic to topic, though they were all connected in one giant convoluted mess. Hel liked it when things were simple…and since she had come to Amityville, things had not become simple.

"All the things?" She echoed, looking at Hel curiously as she tilted her head to a side; she was being awfully cryptic! Taking another sip of the soda, she asked again, "What sort of things? I like to think that I'm a pretty good listener!" She grinned.

Hel paused, before looked over at Lizzy and smirked.
“Ya? I am sure you are, but I am not really a good talker, or a good listener, ha!” Hel gave a short bark of laughter and then took another swig of her soda. When she meant talker, she meant talking about her feelings, but after a moment of silence, she did pipe up. “Lizzy, do you and Mac squabble often?”

"Often... Hm... Well, I'm not sure if it's considered often, but when we do, it's usually over silly things," She deflated a bit, looking down with a sigh, "Or rather, you know, things silly to him but not me, or things silly to me but not him..." She paused, looking up again, "How are things going with you and Mot?"

Hel’s eyes drifted back over to Lizzy as she spoke, and on some level, she did relate to what the spider demoness was saying. “Ya…I get that.” She murmured.
Then…oh…ouch.
The ghoul more or less just dove in and hit the nail on the head. Hel’s lips twisted and her brows furrowed. She looked like she wanted to say ‘things were good’, but she wouldn’t be sitting here, trouble, if she truly felt like that was the case…but he said he loved her…but on the other hand he nearly left her again because they got into a tiff and…
Hel poker faced before her expression smoothed back into one of utter disgruntlement, confusion, and just plain ‘I have no idea what’s going on’.
The reaper settled for making a so-so gesture, and then frowned. “…Truthfully Lizzy, right now, I am feeling like how Mac did when he broke up with you.”

"How Mac did when he... Oh!" After that little exclamation, she went silent; that period of time, to her, never really existed. She was sure Mac felt the same way, that he never really lost her, and she never really gave up on him... But it still hurt, and she never want to go through something like that ever again.
"You feel... Like you're not good enough for Mot?" She frowned, "But why?"

“Ya.”
Hel’s lips pulled into a deeper frown. Not good enough. She hated hearing that…but it was honestly how she felt right now. “Because I start every squabble…over things…he does not hold the same value in as I do…you know…” Like marriage. Hel huffed and rubbed the back of her neck. “It just…feels like all we do is squabble, and I do not like it when he is cross with me…but I do not know Lizzy…I can not seem to not make him so…the only way I am spared, is if I am not around him at all…which is what I have been doing since my return from the Isles.”

"Have you tried talking to him? Talking helps, even if it can be painful, or frustrating," She hooked one arm around Hel's, and wriggled closer, "It helps you to understand each other better, like why they hold certain values more or less, or how they feel... Avoiding the problem won't solve the problem."

“I have talked to him!” Hel snapped, looking at Lizzy. “I have talked to him more than once, and it seems to settle things for some time, but then they get back to right where they were! I am not avoiding any problems, I am avoiding him before any problems arise!” The ghoul rubbed her head in frustration.
“…Ack…I am not upset at you, Lizzy, I did not mean to raise my voice at you it is just…” She clenched a fist. “…It is frustrating. I am frustrated and ah…how they say…? Bent out of shape.”
