[This match is intended to teach Eienna how to utilize super effective moves and field bonuses. As such, I have selected this field for the best possible experience.]
Roll a six: Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

Walpurgis strode into the arena, the hair on his neck standing on end. The field was covered in static electricity, and it would be the perfect place to teach his opponent.
A burst of red light later, and Gangrel stood before him. "Remember, Gangrel. This trainer is just a newbie. We're not fighting to win this one, just to teach her. No hard feelings if you end up losing, got that?"
Gangrel nodded halfheartedly. He wanted to fight a real fight, not this pansy-core weak crap.
"I'll give you some cheese, and let you battle someone strong if you behave, that work?"
Gangrel nodded much more enthusiastically.

Shikari, having finally figured out the maze to get to the arena, appeared on the field with Chiyo.
Actually, that's not quite true. Chiyo figured it out and brought the blind girl to her place.
But enough of that. "Uhm, I'm here!" She grinned. "I made it! OK, Chiyo, you have fun, okay? We'll do our best!" Chiyo nudged her in reply and strode out to the field, positively bursting with energy from the electrical towers. (I'm choosing Motor Drive as her ability, is that OK?)

((There aren't any abilities in battles here. :3)) All you got to worry about are the moves your pokemon can learn.))
Walpurgis greeted the girl with a hearty "Hello!" before getting down to business. "Gangrel, use Thunderbolt, now!"
The rattata's eyes glew yellow as he fired off a bolt of lightning from his mouth that raced toward the blitzle.

(Thunderbolt is an electric attack so it gets a +25 damage boost from the field. However, Blitzle has a 2x resistance to electric attacks, cutting the damage by 50. This attack was a critical hit, so the final damage dealt is doubled.))
(100 damage base + 25 damage field bonus - 50 Damage resisted + 0 buffs) x2 Critical Strike
This amounts to 75 x 2, which is 150 damage.

The thunderbolt hit head on but Chiyo, after standing there buzzing for a moment, came back with her own thunderbolt. She battled mainly on her own, since her trainer could not assist her as much as the usual person might. They did train together, however, so the bond was definitely still forming.

((That is correct. :3 I don't know if Blitzle has any fighting-type moves, but that's the only type Gangrel is weak against.))
Gangrel was struck head on by the electricity, and it coursed throughout his body.
"Gangrel, use dig!"
Gangrel's claws grew longer as he quickly burrowed into the ground, erupting a moment later under what he hoped was the blitzle.

((I am so sorry, I guess my karma refund is making it's appearance in this battle. >.> Anyways, Blitzle is 2x weak to ground type moves, so the formula is as follows:

Therefore, 150 x 2 = 300 damage))

((Don't be sorry! Apparently Gangrel's too kicka** to play easy, and Chiyo and I wouldn't want it any other way. XDD As far as fighting moves, I'm playing her as being rather low level, so even if she could learn them she doesn't know them yet.))

Gangrel's eyes widened at the familiar attack, and instinct kicked in, diving back underground, dodging the debilitating attack.
"Gangrel, use rock smash!"
In response, Gangrel sent a rock flying up at the blitzle from below.

Chiyo sprang upwards with a what-the-hell kind of look on her face. It took her a moment, but she rallied for another try at Thunder Wave; she was still learning the attack, and wanted to get it right!

Gangrel was still in the hole, and so was unphased by the attack.
"Gangrel, dig, now!" called Walpurgis. He had said to go easy on the blitzle, and he was, ignoring the fact that he was hitting better than usual. Walpurgis couldn't fault him for that. Looks like he'd have to go buy some cheese and find someone for Gangrel to piss off.
Gangrel burst out of the earth like a demon under where he assumed the blitzle stood.

"Alright, break it off!" Shikari called out. "Let's try something you're good at! Quick Attack!" They both had a feeling they weren't going to win this battle - Gangrel and his trainer were just too good - but neither would give up until it was over. Chiyo threw herself into the attack. In any case, thought Shikari wryly, it was good practice to get squashed occasionally.

Gangrel was about to dive back underground when he got caught by a much faster Chiyo, her attack slamming Gangrel hard in the side.
"Swift, Gangrel!"
Gangrel launched a flurry of stars at the Blitzle point-blank before jumping onto a star and gliding back up to Walpurgis.
Walpurgis turned to the other trainer and smiled, although he knew she couldn't see it.
"An excellent attempt on your guy's part! One thing I would recommend to your blitzle is to be more fluid - dance around while fighting. It might wear you out quicker, but you're less likely to be hit, and it gives you more varied options during a battle. I trust you can find your way out?"

Chiyo nickered and tugged on her pants leg. Yeah, they'd find the way out just fine.
