A jet-black buck peered into the small, though surprisingly deep, pool that he had found at the edge of a river, judging how many fish had become more-or-less trapped inside it. After widening the pool, he felt he'd have a good chance of trapping some fish inside. He had lobbed a number of rocks and other debris into the river to force the fish into the pool, then lined it with a loose net painstakingly crafted from vines. To make the fish a bit more pliable, he'd even woven in a few leaves from a plant he knew was poisonous to them. Though, Dreamtime reflected, maybe the poison had been a bit too much. A few expired fish were floating on the surface already, but there were plenty of live ones in the trap as well. Pleased, Dreamtime hauled on a line at the top of the net, closing it neatly around the fish, and pulled them onto the bank.
