Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

"Oh no!" Zinnia cried out in dismay. They had gotten the very worst field possible, hadn't they? Zinnia knew that Zyk hated being exposed to electricity. On the bright side, at least he could fly, so the stadium itself probably wouldn't pose a danger to him. They could only hope that their opponent would be equally disadvantaged!
The young Rocket recovered quickly. She tilted her head toward the zubat on her shoulder and said, "Do your best, Zyk!" He chirruped in response, and Zinnia smiled. Then she looked across the unfortunate choice of field to see who her opponent would be.

Setting the squirming meowth down, Diana surveyed the field and almost grimaced. The electric field, joyous. "You're going to have to be careful out there, Rainier." she told the meowth giving him a scratch under the chin before he hopped away from the trainer's box and down to the field.
Looking away from her pokemon she grinned and waved at her opponent refusing to let the other see her discomfort at sending the untried meowth out for his first battle on this field. "Hello! Best of luck to you!" She called with as friendly a tone as she could muster.

Zinnia nodded to Diana. "And to you, too." She lowered her voice, and said to the pokemon on her shoulder, "I choose you, Zyk. Go get 'em."
Zyk nipped Zinnia's ear affectionately before taking off. He winged his way into position on the field. The crackle of electricity put him on edge. He 'saw' using his echolocation that his opponent was a meowth. These were two challenges that he had to overcome; electricity, and a cat. Another pokemon would have been disheartened by the odds, but not Zyk; he had much more willpower and devotion to his trainer than his small body should have allowed.

Letting the other pokemon settle itself, Diana nodded to her meowth. "Alright Rainier, let's start things off with fury swipes!"
Purring in what could only be taken as pleasure, the feline pokemon eyed the floating bat for several moments before springing forward at the command, claws sheathed until the very last moment when he launches himself directly up at the bat with a hiss, claws flashing.

Zinnia winced in sympathy as the meowth launched itself into the first attack, holding nothing back. She recovered herself quickly; this fight had just begun. Zyk could take more than that.
"Use Ominous Wind!" Zin commanded.
The Fury Swipes still stung, but he flapped his wings quickly to send a chilling wind around himself.

Maybe having an untried pokemon wasn't all that bad after all... Then again no reason to be cocky. Not yet.
"Fury Swipes again!"
Landing lightly, he hissed at the brush of cold air that came from near the zubat. Circling slowly again, Rainier launched himself at the bat pokemon, claws outstretched again.

Zyk was hit with Fury Swipes again, but he quickly retaliated with the energy-draining attack. He aimed the bite at Rainier's shoulder.

Zyk flinched as his delicate wing membrane was mauled by Rainier. The weight of the cat dragged him out of the air.
"Use Leech Life and break free-- quick!" Zinnia commanded. It looked like the fight was dissolving into a bite battle!

Yowls as he's shaken off by the next bite and lands with a huff, sizing the bat up.
Wincing at the yowl coming from the meowth she shook her head. "Scratch! Bring him down to you, Rainier!"
Baring his teeth at Zyk he lounged, claws out and aimed for the already injured wing membrane.

A sharp squeal, just barely above the range of human hearing, erupted from Zyk's mouth as the cat's claws tore at his already injured wing. He stooped into a very lopsided dive and half-crashed, half-landed on the crackling stadium floor. His wounded wing dragged, but he stood up to Rainier, still fierce enough to fight.
Zinnia's hand flew to cover her mouth in horror. It's okay, it's not as bad as it looks, she told herself through her moment of panic. It looked like the membrane was slightly torn in a couple of places, but it was nothing that a quick trip to the pokemon center couldn't fix. It was painful enough for Zyk to give up on flying, however... "Zyk... Do you want to stop?" she called down, hoping that this brief pause in the battle would be allowed.
"Zu!" the zubat answered defiantly. This battle wasn't over yet. So his opponent wanted to bring blood? He'd show him blood! Zyk took his own initiative and charged on his tiny, clawed feet, fangs exposed for another Leech Life.

Bracing himself across from the zubat, Rainier's fangs were bared as he stared down the pokemon. The bat still wanted to fight! The little creature was bold he'd give it that much. Boldness wouldn't save him from his claws though.
Watching the spectacle Diana was tempted to call off the match if only to stop this from turning into blood bath when the zubat stood up still ready to go. Seeing Rainier tensing to pounce again she called down to feline, "Rainier! Hold!"
Still strung out from the adrenaline rush he barely heard his trainer's command and it distracted him enough as he swung his head around to stare at her not realizing the zubat had charged him until he was on top of him. Hissing and spitting at the offending creature, the meowth's claws flashed out aiming a series of fury swipes at the bat.

Things were looking very serious; the two pokemon were right on top of one another. Zyk's body was not built for close-range fighting. "Zyk! Break away!" she commanded.
Zyk managed to get free after a few more light scratches. He half-hopped, half-flapped his way awkwardly to freedom from Rainier's claws.
"Try to keep away from him!" Zinnia shouted. "Use long range-- Giga Drain!"
