Ami was already in a sour mood by the time she arrived at the moon training course, and having a small monster n** at her heels wasn't exactly welcomed. She shooed it off and frowned, trying to swing at it, and missing each time.
She just wasn't good at this. Regardless of anything Marcus had said, the insecurities of insanity were starting to get to her. She mumbled to herself about not being good enough, and about Wilson with his stupid pile of girls, and about her defense sucking.

You know, Wilson had yet to try the moon training course. He had tried the others at least a couple times, but the moon course? Nope. He just wasn’t the sort of person who could defend properly, especially with a hulking backpack on him. Of course, Wilson realized that now was an inopportune time to try it out at last, but he wanted to at least see it. He quietly made his way around the island until he found the training area. He leaned forward, peering into the fog as he walked around. Where were the training courses? It was difficult to see.
It was the sound of swings and attacks that caught his attention. Cannons by his side, Wilson headed over and spotted someone struggling to strike one of the creatures. Instinctively, he brought down his heavy cannons down on the creature’s head. It squeaked, attempting to claw at him, but he stepped out of the way.

Ami didn't even hear him sneak up on her until he was there whacking the monster on the head. The little thing started to scurry off, but Ami stabbed it through with her glaive like a fork stabbing through steak.
"Wilson," she greeted in her same monotonous tone that she'd met him with the first time. She was a little angry with him, but at the same time she was glad he was there. It was a confusing feeling and she didn't like it.
So she chose to ignore it.

Wilson would like to clarify that he had not snuck up on her. Death trainees were just naturally quiet because the division required them to be sneaky and ninja-like. He didn’t even bat an eyelash as Ami stabbed her glaive through the creature. It should have been at least a bit gruesome to him, but not anymore.
“Ami, hi! Mind if I join you?” he chirped, her monotone not bothering him at all. Adam had often been like that too.
And another monster didn't jump out of the fog at them. Huh.

Ami gave Wilson a hard look, her insides competing with her outsides. She'd only figured out last night with Sasha that she had feelings for Wilson- possibly strong ones- but she had no clue what to do with them.
Now she was just uncomfortable and awkward. Did he like her back? Was she flirting with him, or just having fun? Was that her real laugh, or a fake one?
Looking down she sternly said, "It doesn't matter to me." What a great way too start a conversation. Ami was going to kick herself later.

“Okay then!” There was the cheery tone again. “I’ll stay with you. It’ll go by faster that way, don’t you think?”
Wilson started to tread forward, but then there was a shadow looming in the mist. His steps slowed and he narrowed his eyes. What was…? His eyes widened suddenly as it came to him. “Watch out!”

With Wilson's warning, Ami moved faster than the shadow creature and batted it elsewhere with Junpei.
"Thanks," she grunted monotonously once more. This was so awkward. Why did Wilson have to pick this place of all places?!

There was a small pause before he decided to tentatively ask, “Um, so when we got back to the base—I mean with Cass and Syd and Aleister. You left all of a sudden.” Wow. Should he really have brought this up? Probably not, but he wanted to make sure Ami was alright. “You’re uh, feeling better now, right?”

Ami's throat tightened for a moment, but the motion was so minuscule that Wilson couldn'tve caught it. Her expression stayed the same, a stony focus that couldn't be altered no matter what Wilson said. She was used to this complacency.
"I'm fine," she said, shaking her head, absolute neutrality on her face, "Nothing was wrong, I just wanted to help clear Deus and what not." She waved a hand like this was something she did every day. Oh wait, yes it was.
She moved her head back and forth and explained, "Besides, I'm not ... I don't cuddle well with strangers." She still had yet to look at him though.
What she was looking at was a little bug shadow that looked something like an oversized cockroach crawl towards her. She tried not to puke on the spot or scream like a little girl (she really did have a fear of bugs), and said, "On your left."

And Wilson didn’t notice at all. He continued to beam behind the mask, a certain cheery tone to his voice that just might have grated someone’s nerves if they weren’t used to the man.
“Oh, I see! I’m glad you’re fine. I think that’s really responsible of you. Admittedly I should probably go out and help clear the island myself.” The trainee sounded a bit sheepish as he said this. It almost seemed like his shoulders slumped a bit at her explanation. “Oh, really? I see. Well, I guess not everyone is the cuddling type. That’s okay.”
He paid little attention to the creature on his left. Which was probably why he only left a tiny scratch.
And then came the many screams from Gramps.

Ami nodded, but said, "It's not responsible, it's risky." She evaluated her own decision as she went. "You should probably try a bit harder though. Less time in the cuddle piles, yeah?" Harsh as ever.
While she was chastising him for not working hard enough, the little cockroach had wandered up the side of her leg and bit her in the shin. Apparently this bug had a bite. She flailed a bit, letting out a whimper, and the bug released itself, flying back towards Wilson.
"I ******** hate bugs," she whimpered out.

Wilson frowned. “Well, if you go alone—“ Ami had been alone until he had barged right in. “—it would be risky, but otherwise I think it’s a really good idea! Since it’s supposed to be our job to clear out the mobs from the island, right?” There was a visible, tiny flinch. “Cuddling isn’t all bad. Maybe you should try it.” He would have given Ami a hug if he didn’t know better, but alas he did.
Then came the cockroach monster again. He could hear her whimper and immediately he honed in on the bug. Wilson smacked it away with one of his cannons and ********: 50/50

"Not gonna happen," Ami immeidately said, in response to cuddling. She would cuddle with a boyfriend after a while, maybe, but never other friends, and never random strangers. Ew. No. Just no. Wilson stop.
She backed up from his cloud of gas, but only at the very last moment. "Wilson are you trying to kill me!?" she spat, quite angrily. It was the paranoia from the insanity talking.
Clearly Wilson didn't want her around. Why else would he shoot so close to her? Obviously he was trying to kill her. He probably noticed that she liked him and thought it was weird, and was now trying to kill her.
As she spoke another monster came barreling around the corner, headed straight for Wilson.

No to cuddling? Nonsense, cuddling was like the universal medicine that technically wasn’t a medicine. Ami, why won’t you understand.
He seemed visibly alarmed at the accusation. “What? No! No no no! It just uh, I don’t know it just happened that way and I mean I think Gramps wanted to be a bit more forceful or something.” But really, Gramps had chosen a goddamn awful time to suddenly make all of the poison clouds. That thing was just about dead, for Pete’s sake.
Just his luck. A monster came barreling right for Wilson. “Woah.” He managed to whack the thing on the head before he jumped out of the way.

Ami just glared at Wilson, no words necessary. A throbbing aura in her hand and the light glow of the marks on the glaive alerted Ami that Junpei was ready to fight, and quite frankly? So was she.
She brought him around in full swing, like a baseball bat, hitting the air and sending a tidal wave of energy out into the air. The monster had already moved on to lumbering towards Wilson, so it didn't do a single damn thing. Fabulous.
"Wilson!" she shouted, stumbling to the ground.
