It took her a couple of tries to actually get a note to the door that had been marked as Mot's by the twins. A note that simply gave prior warning that she was coming to visit at a certain time so that he would be in and they could visit for a while. The Engraver hadn't seen Mot other than the occasional brief glance here and there taking in differences in his shadow as she noted him before simply moving on ... Well, before she started locking herself in her room.

For all she knew Mot grew an extra twenty feet and now had tusks and a few extra limbs. Now she was actually hoping that happened when she saw him for it'd make quite an interesting spectacle.

Leaving the note was the easy part. Coming to visit the appointed time was a new session of trials that she had to work up to and even on the day of she almost didn't go out of fear of being 'stolen' again. She couldn't keep living like this. Even her Twin said so.

It was time to move on.

Lattice left her room and then scurried away from the Ghost Dorms over toward the Reaper Dorms and eventually toward Mot's door. The ghoul nervously stood in front of it, a basket of goodies in one hand, as she reached up to knock.

What if he isn't in anyways due to emergency errands?

Part of her hoped he was out so she could scurry away again and hide. Lattice felt so exposed.

Mot was in. He'd made a point to stay home simply because Lattice had gone through the trouble to announce her presence. He hadn't seen her in quite some time, and wished to catch up with the pleasant twin.

Her other half was.. a little scarier, though he did wonder how she was too.

The light rapping at the door was met with the barking of an excited foxfire, who was soon stuffed into the closet to keep things quiet in the dorm room. Mot answered the door soon after with a wide and warm smile. "Lattice! It's been too long."

Oh good. He was in.

Lattice gave her usual small smile and bowed slightly, "Mot, it has been very long. Things have kept us very busy it seems," she said softly. She ignored the disappointment in him being there when she hoped he wouldn't be - it was her cowardice talking. She'd let it speak for long enough.

Her fingertips tightened on the handle of her basket, "As such I wish to apologize. I promised you ink but it took me so long to get them to you," she said quietly, "but they are well preserved so they should be fine despite the lengthy time apart we had."

She took a second to look him over as well. Aww. No tusks and no extra limbs...Now THAT she could be disappointed in.

"The ink? Oh!" That whole basket was for him? He seemed startled, looking it over before smiling and motioning for Lattice to come inside his room. "I'd nearly forgotten about it. Thank you so much. Come on in. I can make you a tea if you'd like?"

Entertaining a guest would be a delightful way to keep his mind off all of the horrible things he was dealing with. The past, the present. Everything. Most of not all was his fault.

She paused. He'd nearly forgotten about the ink? Oh. Oh no.

Her shoulder slumped forward as small quavering voice spoke, "I am sorry, I am a terrible friend. It had been so long you had almost forgotten. Oh Mot...I am so sorry."

Was she being melodramatic? Just a bit. Did she realize she was being melodramatic? Not at all.

The ghoul shuffled forward in a defeated fashion and the mention of tea came through her cloud of self-disappointment, "Oh, yes please. That would be lovely. I have also brought us a cake for our visit. Is Weeping Forest Cake good for you?"
PostPosted: Fri May 04, 2012 3:42 pm

"Ah! N-no! It's alright, Lattice. I should have made more incentive to check up on my friends." He insisted wearily, not sure how to comfort a ghoul with needles sticking out of her arms.

She was inside now, and Mot shut the door behind him softly. "Cake?" Well, Mot didn't much care to eat, but he'd been making a point to try more often. Others seemed to see it as a social norm, so perhaps this was another challenge for the thin boil. "Wonderful. Would you set it on the table? I'll get us some dishes."

Mot walked into the small kitchen to start the tea and get some dishes for them. Oh this would be a lovely visit.

"How have you been fairing, Lattice?"

She gave a short nod, "I should have done the same to be honest, Mot. It goes both ways," Lattice seemed calmer now and less melodramatic as she gave Mot a small wistful smile of understanding after she was in the room. The ghoul gave a small nod and went to place the cake on the table after carefully getting it out of the basket. She also took out several vials of ink in various colors and set them on the table, each one was labeled 'For Mot' with a neat little tag. On the back of the tags were color names.

Lattice seemed thoughtful for a moment, "Do you wish for the honest answer or the answer I would tell someone I do not know very well?"

Her honest answer seemed to dismay and upset many of her friends.

Mot set down some plates and cutlery, his eyes moving to Lattice as she answered. "Honesty is best. If it is hard news I'm here to try and ease your mind." He wasn't a very good friend lately to anyone, and an even worse boilfriend. He felt he needed to step up and be a rock. That's what being a man was, right? He was beginning to believe his code of the gentlemen had been a mask for his insecurities.

"Sit first, the tea is about ready." He'd started the process of boiling water before Lattice had arrived, and only needed to serve it.

He got their tea and the fixings on a tray and set it down, sitting with the ghost. "Okay. Tell me." He coaxed softly, pouring tea into her cup for her.

"I...I suppose so. I just do not wish to add more worries to your plate, Mot," she said softly but still she moved to sit down and folded her hands on her lap for now as the cowboil got everything ready to enjoy.

Her expression was the usual neutral one though her lips were faintly quirked downward in a frown. She wasn't sure how she was going to tell him without upsetting him more but she supposed it was best to just tell him straightforwardly.

"Remember when we went on that fieldtrip and some of us got stolen?" Her fingertips twitched slightly as she remembered that trip. It wasn't her favorite thing about the entire mess, "It...happened to me again or at least...an attempt was made at the maul when Christmas Attacked. After everything was settling down Boogeymen came to clear everything away and...I wanted to ....stay around and help some friends but I guess they did not like that. Next thing I know they put things about my wrist and were dragging me away." She frowned a bit. "Definitely not toward an exit or a holding area I do not think. Others came to my help but since then...I have not had the courage to wander out as much..."

Mot listened quietly, sipping at his own tea since he had still given up coffee. He'd remembered hearing about Lattice's entrapment during the haunted house, since it had been one of the reasons he and Hel had a big fight that day.
Hearing that it had almost happened again, on their own turf, was unsettling.

"You've been hiding since then?" Mot clarified, his brows knit together worriedly. "That is a long time.." There were many times Mot wanted to hide away, but for the sake of his friends he'd always tried his best to push forward.

"I know it's scary out there, and honestly I wish I could hide all my friends away and keep them safe.." Mot cast his gaze down for a moment before lifting it back to his friend. "But you need to be strong, Lattice. We're all here for you. Just make a point to always travel with a friend. I think that's a better idea than going out alone anyway." He gave a soft smile, though he was starting to realize Lattice probably couldn't see his facial expressions and felt a little silly.

"I..I go out to run errands but I usually do not linger anywhere," she said trying to either reassure herself or Mot but she wasn't sure which that was. Her fingertips reached for her teacup and she just absorbed the warmth from it without taking a drink just yet as she listened to him talk.

A lot of what he said made sense and brought a small smile to her lips, "I..I know Mot. I am trying...Very hard. I am trying my Sister's patience as I am right now and...I do not wish to be anyone's burden. Not at all. I just wonder what happened, I had become so brave and then it was all sapped from me in a span of two very different but still frightening moments."

Seeing the smile or not she still appreciated his company despite the lack of tusks and multiple limbs.

"I will do my best for you and all my friends, I promise," she said sincerely. Finally Lattice took a sip from her cup, "How have you been?"

As long as she was trying. She was here visiting, after all. "I'm sure you will."

Mot swirled his tea about in it's cup as she asked her question, tilting his head to the side. His smile faded. "Um.. Okay, I suppose." He responded uncertainly. "Quite a many thing has gone on lately. It's difficult to focus on any one happening." Truly his mind was garbled with a mess of issues.

"I prefer.. not to think about it." Distractions. As many as he could find.

Lattice tilted her head at his tone but simply nodded, "I will not press," with an underlying and unsaid 'even though you made me share MY problems with you'. She went to sip her tea and simply decided to focus on trying to help Mot 'not think' about things.

"Do you like card games?" She asked idly her voice showing actual interest and curiosity.

Then as if remembering an additional gift for him from her sash she pulled out a rectangular object wrapped in a lovely bow with cowboil hats and sheriff star motif upon it. She set the gift out before him, "Perhaps me teaching you how to play a game will help you forget your problems for a while if you prefer to escape them for now."

Lattice would never realize just how much Mot appreciated her not pressing the issue. He'd dealt with too much, and he wasn't comfortable dumpin gall of his problems on her.

"Hm? I love card games." He said with interest. He played all kinds of games, like poker and black jack.

Mot was startled as she pulled out something that looked like it was meant for him. "I'd like that very much."

Her smile grew just a touch as he said that he enjoyed card games and even stated that he'd enjoy learning a new game from her she gestured down to the gift she had placed on the table, "If you open your gift you will find a deck of cards called Hanafuda. I had drawn them up for you myself using the motif of guns, cowboil hats and other such themes that I found pictures of in books. I hope you like them, Mot."

She waited patiently for him to take a good look at his gift from her.

"With Hanafuda cards there are a couple of different games we can play but my favorite is a game called Koi-koi." Lattice added softly.
