Personality: Deeply harrowed by the events of his past, Raitsuki is often very solemn. He has a tendency for talking only when spoken to, and avoids speaking much unless it is necessary. Because of this, a common misconception is that he is pretentious and aloof. Contrary to such inaccurate judgments, he is a very caring man. He does his best not to allow any of his comrades to die, even to the point of outright temerity. In any given situation he never submits, as long as even a single breath is left within his body. Surrendering is never an option in his eyes. Morality is one of the most important things in Yukimura’s life. He sees a very different world than those around him. He perceives a world with the potential to do away with prejudice, injustice, materialistic qualities, and even war. He has managed to hold onto this faint glimmer of hope for his entire life, and nothing can extinguish it. He doesn’t believe in taking pride in his natural abilities. “Why take pride in the intelligence I was born with? It isn’t as if I had to put forth effort or make any sacrifices to obtain it.” He would rather take pride in what good he accomplishes with these innate attributes. Part of this is exemplified by the fact that he still considers himself to be married rather than a widower, regardless of the fact that his wife died years ago, and he refuses to remove his wedding ring. Family History: The Kyoshi clan is known for housing many members with water and wind as their elemental affinities. They often use this to their advantage in the environment of Amegakure. They are known for possessing Kage no Rai, an indestructible black blade that is passed on to the most worthy clan member each time the previous owner dies. Not much is known of his father’s clan. All that is known of Shuusuke is that he came from afar.
