Quote: The Weeping Forest: - Roll a 100-sided dice each time you post. Match your dice roll to the results below as to what you find. Make sure to RP out the post. You can work with someone else as well, so each of you can obtain max 10/15 items (depending on your job class) - You can only rp here with other Lost Clans members. This will still take place in the MAIN section of the guild where all the rp goes however! - Occasionally you will hear ??? noises. It seems minipets are pretty common in the area! You can summon any minipets your horsemen has carried with them/ found/ etc etc (or even found in the forest, as it is abundant with minis) to help you around in this area/ look for supplies/ etc etc. Unlike students, Lost Clans members use minis as tiny workers, and will only summon them as necessary and less so of a vanity item. - Once you are done, don't forget to claim points here
- 1- 10: Thick branches - 11- 20: Wispy leaves (easily flammable) - 21- 30: Large hollow tree (dead) - 31 - 40: Tree bark - 41 - 50: Sticky tree sap - 51 - 60: Bones from dead minipets - 61 - 70: Dry moss - 71 - 80: Pine needles - 81 - 90: Large slab of stone - 91 - 100: Simple clay

"Who knows which I meant." Quietly broke the silence after a moment of walking, a sing-song like tone was allowed to seep in to the horsewoman's voice as she finally answered the question that was posed earlier.
She walked a little further than expected, passing by run down log a bit more and allowing them to travel a little further so that she knew that they could just talk about whatever they wanted to, without the possibility of unwanted guests. Slowly letting go of the willing arm of the Noble, she gave a soft sigh, letting her own arms drop to the side, before turning around to face him, feeling a little more willing to talk, not having so many around her.
"I think it may be better, now, no one looking over us, hmm?" She murmured softly, tilting her head softly as she wandered around to look for new things, dropping her shoes on the ground. "Is there something that is ailing you?" She questioned out loud, not needing any okay, She worked on grabbing a large slab of stone, her dainty fingers gripping in to the rock as she worked her way to the log.Lifen's Materials 1 x Dead Hollowed Tree 1 x Hollow Tree 2 x Wispy leaves 1 x Large Slab of Rock

Obediently, he let her guide him away from the rest of the group - though really, it was a good thing, since Mengyao was not entirely certain how much longer he could have stayed there anyway. He felt sometimes as though his edges were fraying, leaving behind only the raw truth.
A truth he did not want to share with anyone.
"Much better," he said agreeably, and tucked his greyed hands into his sleeves, if only to get them out of his sight. He stood there in silence for several moments, simply watching as Lifen kicked off her shoes and dragged a heavy slab of rock towards the tree. A part of him - the part of him that he did not show to anyone other than two people alone, one of which was right in front of him - did not want her to lift that by herself. Lifen, however, was surprisingly strong, and it would not do to disrespect that - but Mengyao stepped over anyway, carefully extracting it from her fingers.
"Many things ail me," he said lightly, as though they were discussing something as mundane as the weather. But the confident facade was already dropped; it would not do to pretend now, not in front of Lifen, of all people. His fingers ran over some soft, emerald colored moss, Mengyao's expression shifting, a little of the tension about his countenance easing.
"...I do not like it here," he said, after a long moment of silence. "And I upset Yuzhi. Again."
He did not mention the grey on his fingers, but she had probably already noticed that by now.Mengyao's Pathetic Inventory x1 pine needles x2 thick branches x1 wispy leaves x1 tree bark x1 dry moss ------ 6 total

"It's understandable," is all she started with, unable to shake the bluntness out of her tone, pouting just a little when he took the rock from her, picking up some more leaves (they would come in handy, she hoped,) to bring to the pile they were creating together. Dusting off her robes, she looked around, her feet rusting through the soft grasses underneath, bones reflecting every movement, every sway of her hips and bend of her knees. It was kind of relaxing.
Keeping her eyes lowered, she could only nod softly, her hair rushing forward over her shoulders, her hair shock black on her skin, with the exception of the strands of white that weren't originally there when they had a home. They were new, and she found herself subconsciously tugging them when she was alone. Sighing outward, she looked him over again, her mouth pursed a little before sighing outright.
"She will feel better soon, Yuzhi is a strong girl - you are family." she started, trying to find the best words to explain it. A twinge in her demenor reflected a minor ache from the family she lost, but she hid it well, not looking to ail her closest friend anymore. She couldn't lose him, he and his cousin were all she had left from her previous life, and without them, she would be lost - drown in the whispers and cries that come some nights. "We are all ailed by ghosts of what we miss." She tried, raising her hands again, almost grasping for good wording. She was not good at this. "I feel a little lost, I am not sure what I can do to help." She admitted softly, only loud enough that it could have been mistaken as a breath.Lifen's Materials 1 x Dead Hollowed Tree 1 x Hollow Tree 3 x Wispy leaves Lifen? Lifen's voice was quiet, barely audible if one wasn't listening for it - but Mengyao had been listening to her voice since they were children. He knew when she spoke (rarely) and how she said it (very simply, no holds barred), and he had long since grown used to her quietly blunt nature. Here and now, when all else around him seemed to be crumbling, that, at least, had not changed.
Even though some things had. Like her hair. He found himself almost reaching out to draw her hand away from the white strands, but he did not want to draw more attention to the fact that they were both somewhat different now.
Both of them were different, and yet not. Mengyao let out his breath, a slow exhale as he drew one hand out of his sleeve, idly fanning himself with the gold and feathered fan - one of the only objects he had left from the Isle of Conquest. Kneeling down beside her (and studiously trying to ignore the dirt and the grass around him), Mengyao extended his fingers, brushing them over an elongated, flat stone in front of him, similar to the one Lifen had just had.
"You are of use," he told her softly, and sighed, closing his eyes briefly. "To me, you are of great help."
He did not want to remember the Isles, did not want to remember what he had lost. Instead, Mengyao pushed it aside, deep into the recesses of his mind, away from everything else.
It did not do to dwell on things he could not change.
"Also, I think all of us are lost somewhat - we're stuck here, after all, and I'm pretty sure that can be taken both figuratively and literally speaking," he added, with a small smirk - a small attempt at humor to cheer her up. That blasted fan.
It was almost hilarious, watching him fan himself after working so hard to move the two slabs of rock - a side that not many could see, a hard-working and conscious of those around him. It was kind of nice, seeing that both sides were still entact for her to amuse herself with - and one day she would steal that fan and use while he wasn't looking.
"As are you." She stated, awarding him with the smallest of smiles, happy to know she was at least some help to her Noble friend. Taking the initiative, she worked out another rock out contently, her pale fingers darkening with the earth around them, and the humidity of the forest starting to undo her hair - but she didn't mind. It was kind of nice to work the earth - having been born and raised in a lower-caste family in society. Lifting it close to her stomach, she worked her way to the fallen tree, setting it down roughly, the bells of her dress ringing as her sleeves abruptly shifted.
A softly chuckle bubbled from her chest as she thought his words over, finding the amusement he was attempting to offer up. "All things lost, can be found," She retorted, the sing-song quality returning as she voiced the words, looking at their current inventory, earth-stained hand up near her mouth, but not on it, so she wouldn't stain anymore. "I'll find you, if you're ever lost, as long as you promise you'll do the same for me, okay?" She posed, looking over at him once she was comfortable with how everything was sizing up.
They had a lot of rocks. . .Lifen's Materials 1 x Dead Hollowed Tree 1 x Pine Needles 3 x Wispy leaves 2 x Large Slab of Rock (ROCKS ALL UP IN THIS PLACE.)

He used the fan less as a way to keep himself cool and more of just a something to do with his hands. It could, perhaps, could be taken as a habit - a distraction, something he did to keep his mind occupied, but it had long since grown into something he often forgot he was doing; a gesture he couldn't seem to break.
Her smile made him smile in return - Lifen's smiles were rare and therefore more pleasant when she actually did - and Mengyao brushed the feathers against his face, tilting his head to watch her work. He supposed he should have been helping, rather than standing - but the good thing about being with Lifen was that he did not have to pretend to be someone he was not.
With Lifen he allowed himself to drop all of his guards and just be himself.
A low laugh escaped his throat, and Mengyao shook his head, amused in spite of himself. He reached out a hand, taking her own dirt stained fingers in his own and drawing them away from her face.
"I will always find you when you are lost," he told her, and smiled, reaching out to brush some of the hair away from her face, pinning it back where it belonged - a gesture of affection for his best friend. A sigh escaped his lips, and Mengyao dropped his hand, idly twisting the fan in his other. He turned away from her, looking down at the grey that spread over his skin, pressing his lips together. Kneeling down, he found yet another rock, idly pushing it into the pile.
"...Lifen, I think...I don't know what to do with myself anymore. My hands are...tied, in a way. This place is too unfamiliar, too...unpleasant." The chortle that he allowed startled her slightly, as she physically jumped a little, before his hand brushed her own, pulling it from close from her face. It had become a habit she had recently started doing subconsciously, her hands constantly travelled to close to her face and hair, almost as a calming sensation, especially when the muffled cries came back to her.
Looking down at the much larger hand he owned, her thumb slowly brushed over the greying skin that shadowed her own pale colour, a pensive face drifted over her looks as he pushed her hair back to it's natural location. She had seen the colour set in after the destruction of their home, but had refrained from asking him any questions - the move had frazzled them both, and she had decided to be the shoulder for him to come to if needed. He would talk to her about it when he was ready - she knew that.
"I'll keep you to that." She said shortly, as he dropped his hand from her own, the warmth that it created left with him. Taking the initiatve, she followed him slowly, her feet muffled by the forest's natural soudns and his own fumbling of the rock he had found (they really did have a lot of rocks . . . ), picking up leaves as she went. They could always use kindling. "I doubt anyone would believe me if I said you had promised me that though." She stated openly, attempting to humour the situation - Mengyao was well known as a self-preservant person - but having found his natural personality from a young age, it had given her insight on the whole thing. He was just . . . awkward and raised differently. He had a shell, but she knew how to crack it.
Sighing softly, she waited until he was standing upright again from his rock-tumbling, before putting a pale hand on his shoulder . . well. . side, looking up to him. "We are all feeling the vice." She offered, giving him a knowing look softly. She had lost everything from the Isle, including her family, as far as she knew. It even felt like her own essense had been scattered like the leaves in her other hand. "We'll just have to rebuild. You'll find yourself again, and I'll work on . . whatever I have left," she murmured. "We have each other, and others, including the other island-folk. This could be interesting.
Admittedly, it felt weird to talk so much, and be so open about it all, but this was Mengyao, her only comfort zone she had left, it seemed.

He had first noticed the greying on his hands about a day after the incident with the phoenix and the destruction of their homes. Mengyao had lifted his arm to pull his hair back and had then jerked, spreading his fingers in front of his face and staring at them with wide, startled eyes.
Eyes that were now two different colors, the same as Lifen. He had tried to ignore it at first, had tried to suppress the innate desire to wash the grey from his fingers, scrub at his hands until his skin was raw and it was gone, completely gone.
But it never would be. And he had to learn to accept that.
Mengyao had seen the look cross Lifen's face, concern mixed with apprehension, but he did not answer her unspoken inquiries just yet, just as she did not volunteer the information about her own changes - like the thick strands of white in her hair. They had not been there before - Mengyao had, of course, known her since she was a child - but he both did and did not want to know what she thought of the change.
He would ask one day, but now was not that day.
"Please do," he responded pleasantly, and offered her a small smile - which turned into an amused smirk, Mengyao shaking his head.
"Ah, well," he said airily. "There are only a select few with whom I am this comfortable, and you, my dearest friend, are one of them - so yes, I doubt anyone would believe you."
The attempt at humor at least helped lifted the mood a bit, but Mengyao sighed, exhaling his breath in a long gust of air. Moodily, he waved the fan at his face. He pushed another hard slab of rock into the pile of supplies, then stood, pressing his lips together.
A hand touched his shoulder - Lifen was giving him a calm, reassuring look, the look that she usually kept at bay and somehow it relaxed Mengyao. He sighed again, and reached out, touching her face gently.
"I am glad we are friends," he said - and then added, a bit cheekily, "even if I am too good for you."
It was an obvious joke, meant to lighten the mood, and Mengyao's lips twitched as he attempted to hide a smile.Mengyao's Pathetic Inventory x1 pine needles x2 thick branches x1 wispy leaves x1 tree bark x1 dry moss x3 slab of stone all of the rox what is even ------ 9 total

A soft sigh escaped the artisan's mouth when Mengyao came close and set his hand on her face, closing her eyes just for a moment before giving him another small smile, listening to the words he said. It wasn't until he admitted his worth that she gave out a short snort, eyes opening half-liddened as she scrutinized his decision - her smile never leaving her face, but becoming more of a smirk.
"Whatever you say, your lordliness." She murmured, a light tone on her voices as she tutted his hand on her face with her own. ""Money and blood will not buy you true happiness. Normally." She joked, giving him a once over. He was very happy with his ranking, even after all that was said and done, and they had found their way here. "Wouldn't have it any other way, though." She finished her line of thought, allowing her head to rest in his hand a little further, before turning away, puffing her cheeks at the pile.
"I think we're going to have to work on this." She murmured, before pointing to another hollowed out tree, looking at him mischeviously. He had said jokingly that he was too good for her, but really it was the complete opposite. Hua Lifen was much too good for Mengyao, and he knew it. Despite the way he tended to act, he was well aware of how he was in front of others - even amused himself with keeping things the way they were. It was so easy to put up a facade and pretend to be something he was not.
But, then again, it was also good to have someone like Lifen that he could relax around and not make the effort to pretend.
"Ah, yes, but you see," said Mengyao, in a mock wise tone, fanning himself with his free hand while his other remained lightly against Lifen's cheek "Money and blood will buy you things that can lead to true happiness."
His smirk matched her own, but he was gentle when he idly brushed his fingers over her face before they both moved away, Mengyao to shove the slab of rock he still held back into the pile, along with some dry, pale green moss.
Then he turned back to Lifen, who was standing over...a tree.
"What is it with you and trees?" said Mengyao, rolling his eyes as he reached down to help her drag it.Mengyao's Pathetic Inventory x1 pine needles x2 thick branches x1 wispy leaves x1 tree bark x2 dry moss x3 slab of stone all of the rox what is even ------ 10 total

"They are a foundation." She stated bluntly, walking up to it, her bare feet crunching through the grass and soft wood that remained from the tree's fall. "A good piece of wood does wonders for commissions, art wise." She offered, looking through the hollowed out center, smiling softly. This was a luxury that Conquest had little of - just wildlife and trees and secrets abound (that wasn't gossip.) She felt comfortable. The forest was something she was going to return to, often, she felt.
With Mengyao's (surprising) help, she turned the old tree over, raising her pale arm to wipe off a small bit of sweat from her face, before looking over the work they've done, nodding as-a-matter-of-factly at everything. They did well enough, and would have enough supplies to aid with the rebuild what little they had left.
Leaning down, she inspected the ground that had been smothered by the tree, passing her hand over it, before unearthing some minipet bones, her face taking a sullen look as she lidded her eyes again, before picking up the pieces.
"I am sorry, sweetheart," she murmured, feeling a pang of saddness, knowing that the little one had probably been smothered by the old tree, a sick sense of justice and fate. Standing up again, she wandered over to their piles again, putting the bones with the rest, hoping she could give the little one a new role in it's afterlife.
Dusting off her legs, she looked up to Mengyao again, folding her hands under her bosom and leaning a little to the left. "I think we have done well, my friend. I am sure they will be able to find great use for all this . . . stuff." She murmured, looking over their great pile of rocks and trees . . . and minipet bones, and moss.
"Do you feel better?" She offered, before considering how they were going to drag this back. It was a little off-putting that they had to return, with how quiet this place was, and how nice it was to be able to just do something with Mengyao in their natural environments again, but there was so much to do.Lifen's Materials 2 x Dead Hollowed Tree 1 x Pine Needles 4 x Wispy leaves 2 x Large Slab of Rock 1 x Minipet bones (NOoooo Flufffyyyy) ------------------- 10 total.

"How very true," said Mengyao agreeably, with a flicker of his eyes back at Lifen. He tucked his hands into his sleeves, the feathers of the fan brushing against his wrist - a small gesture that was familiar and oddly comforting to him - just as Lifen's presence was. He gave a small sigh, and peered over at the tree, at the hollowed out inside, reaching out to brush his fingers over the wood.
Once their supplies were entirely in place, in a small heap on the ground, Mengyao gave it a once over, his gaze sweeping across the rocks, the branches, the leaves, and of course, the rocks and the trees, of which they had a strangely large amount. He shook his head a little, amused in spite of himself as he turned back to Lifen.
"We have done..." he started to say, then realized she was kneeling in the ground, her pale fingers running over what looked like small bones. Pressing his lips together, Mengyao stepped over towards her as she straightened, her expression solemn.
"They will rest in peace now," he told her gently, and offered her one of his rare smiles, soft and quiet and reserved only for those he cared enough about to let himself relax around.
Lifen's question startled him a little, and Mengyao blinked down at his friend, drawing the fan out of his sleeve to tap it against his face. He felt his shoulders ease, a rueful sigh escaping his lips.
"Yes, well...as better as I can, under the circumstances I suppose," he said, and then leaned over, pressing a quick and affectionate kiss to Lifen's cheek before smiling brightly. "Thank you, darling. But, then again, I have you and Lan and of course Yuzhi to keep me occupied, so I'm quite entertained already."
This was followed by a wink before Mengyao turned, offering Lifen his arm.
"Shall we head back, then? I'm quite certain there are others who can come and retrieve our rather large supplies for us."

A soft nod rocked the artisan's head softly a few times when her friend reached out to console her on the minipet, a sigh escaped her again as she tried to put it out of her mind. Looking up to him, she watched his own reaction from her question, eyebrows raised softly - almost content to see that stupid fan again, fluttering in front of him like a lost limb.
As he bent down to kiss her cheek, she felt her face flush softly, betraying her white skin, she lowered her eyes a little, before raising them immediately after, a smile chasing the pink away. "I'm sure we'll gain more allies as it goes." She assured, folding her hands a little tighter in front of her. "I'm glad to hear that we're keeping you interested, at least." She joshed lightly, before snorting again softly at his final statement, turning away from their items, shaking her head.
"After you, then, mi'lord." She murmured sarcastically, knowing she'd probably be the one who came back to get it all.
