The rumors weren't anything too alarming and she didn't have any objections to the individuals involved, far from it. Glancing at her phone after sending out the three texts, Clarice gave the picture displayed a little half smile, it was actually pretty cute. But still, this conversation wasn't something she could, in good conscience, avoid. Despite being incredibly ******** awkward.

The blonde sighed and looked at the clock, doing her best not to fidget or just...run out of the room.

This was gonna be so ******** awkward.

No. Wait. She was prepared. She did the research. She had consulted various knowledgeable parties. She had good intentions! Clarice relaxed a bit and put her game face on, bobbing her head a bit. Yeah, she had this.

His phone was going off. Jordan made a small, irritated noise and flopped his arm over the edge of the bunk to find the damn thing and make it shut up. What time was it? He peered drowsily at the screen and found that it had been perhaps an hour since he'd crawled into the bunk and prodded Rep till the red-haired man moved over to give him some space. Not enough sleep.

And why was the phone still going off when he'd already flipped it open? Wait, no, that wasn't his phone. Waking up a little more, he leaned over the side of the bunk and poked around under the bed till he found the offending piece of technology, then rolled over enough to dump it on top of Rep. "Answer your phone," he grumbled.

Then he took a look at the text. A discussion with Clarice? That was enough to wake him up enough to wonder if he'd done something. Or not done something. Either possibility was worrying. As much as he'd like to shove the phone back into his coat pocket and go back to sleep, he suspected that that wouldn't be a terribly good idea. He sat up with a sigh and retrieved his boots.

If there was one thing Rep really knew the value of, it was a good sleep, it was so hard to get to sleep in the first place that whenever he actually did drift off he clung to it like a shipwrecked man clung to driftwood. As far as he was concerned at first, the phone was irrelevant. Someone else's problem. Or at least it was until he felt the satisfyingly comfortable figure alongside him stir, even leaning over to reach the phone resulted in a fleeting draft of cool air that made Rep groan irritably. People didn't stay still enough.

He couldn't ignore the phone being dropped on him, nor the fact that it wouldn't shut up and finally sat up with a groan to open it, muttering drowsily. "********' phones man. 'Bet its a ********' wrong number or some s**t."

Opening the phone he squint-glared at the text until he brain resumed normal functioning sufficiently enough to even read it. Ah s**t, he thought, what the hell had he done this time.

"Think I'm in ******** trou-." he gave Jordan a guilty sidelong look, only to notice as he did so that it seemed it wasn't just him who'd got a text. There was a certain relief about this. "Clarice?" he asked with a lazy smirk.

"What, you too?" Jordan twisted around to blink at Rep. "Any idea what this is about? Because I sure don't know."

He shrugged, edging over to the side of the bed to sit next to the other man, looking for wherever he'd ditched his things before crashing for his nap, as he looked he shook his head. "Nope! Not a clue. I mean, definitely ******** nothing that'd need you to be dragged in with me."

He found one shoe with success and went in search of the other, still fumbling and groggy, pausing to muse idly. "Maybe its a sun thing?"

PostPosted: Thu May 03, 2012 8:57 pm

"Maybe." Jordan pulled his other boot on, tied the laces, and tucked them back before leaning over to grab his coat and scarf. "Seems weird that we'd get called on Sun business by the Life assistant, though."

He leaned his shoulder briefly against Rep's before getting up and pulling the coat and scarf on. "Only one way to find out. God, her timing's crappy, I was just getting some good sleep."

"Good point." It didn't make sense that Clarice would want to see them regarding a division that wasn't even her own concern, and in his current half awake state, Rep's brain really wasn't forthcoming with other suggestions. He found his other shoe and donned it, about as dressed as he got once he did so.

The subtle little lean made him long for that closeness and comfort he'd been enjoying just a few minutes ago, but ******** orders were orders. He sighed deeply and shook his head, running his hands through his hair, bed hair was too understated a term for him right now, but he gave not a single ********, an interrupted sleep was a grave offence in Rep's book.

"No ******** kidding." he snorted, throwing himself to his feet with all the grace of a sullen teenager. "Was ******** comfortable."

Harrison had been enjoying a soppy Beef Brisket and an incredibly mangled Shortbread Cookie. It was probably lunch.

After he read the text, he grabbed the cookie, shoveled the entire brisket in his mouth, then bolted for Clarice's office.

Jordan made a small detour into the canteen on the way, grumbling, "Coffee," by way of explanation. He was not dealing with whatever this was uncaffeinated. Nope.

When he headed down the hallway that led to Clarice's office, he had a styrofoam cup in hand, still mostly full, but the blessed caffeine was beginning to make its way into his bloodstream and clear the fog over his mind.

Rep didn't even notice they were in the cafeteria until Jordan mentioned coffee. He was still somewhere between awake and asleep, walking on pure fuzzy instinct and just following the other man. He didn't think to pick up coffee himself, he didn't think do do anything much. "S'cool."

At least by the time they reached the hallway, the buzz of being in an actual BUILDING again versus a horrible little bunker was enough to wake him up a bit. Rooms. Ah, rooms were a ******** dearly missed novelty.

Harrison had managed to swallow some, but not all, of the brisket, and he nearly bowled Rep and Jordan over. His face was in sore need a napkin.

"Sry cam'talk," he said urgently, walking backwards so he could relay the short apology, "Gotta teckt from Claree,"

The question was enough to slow him down. It was easier at this point to just nod. He chewed it over.

"Anbody elle?"

"Both of us," Jordan said, and tilted an eyebrow. "I don't think I have a napkin, but you're in dire need."

Rep's brain was still running just a little late and during the whole exchange he just stared at Harrison, what he was thinking was anyone's guess.

"Napkins are for old ladies."
